  1. It's a gret solution and it works wonders.

Btw, did you guys just sort of ninja that nail polish from your girlfriend makeup pack like I did? Or did you actually go into a store and buy nail polish?!? Did the clerk at the register say anything? har har

  2. Looking to buy a spare CM's Roy or Hikaru figure for my display area. Can be loose or bagged, I don't care as long as it's not damaged.

Need it for a lil custom pilot figure I intend to repaint and display along with my 1/48's.

  3. No I wasn't on the yoshinol :p

Actually, I had gone to a post office that I'd never been to before and stopped behind the other 4 people flashing their hazards as they ran in to do their business.

Went out and the car was gone -_-

had to spend an hour at the pound getting my car cleared. Got slapped with a $160 towing fee (bs) and then got slapped with a $50 ticket :p

Shoulda just mailed it via fed ex for 10 bucks and used the 0ther 200 dollars for a Roy + fastpack combo or something :p

  4. So I made a trade for a DYRL pilot by sending an MW member a TV pilot.

Ok... the pilot's worth like... what? 3 dollars?

Shipping on top of that was 4 dollars. Ok, no biggy.

Sounds like a done deal. That's normal to most peeps.

Well....except for the $210 ticket I got for parking near the post office :p

Shipping for my $3 TV pilot ended up being $214.

    Hot Damn!

  5. Is 99.99 USD a good deal for one or the other ?

Buy Hikaru's if you want the very well-done DYRL style pilot.

For some ungodly reason, Yamato uses it's craptastic blob DYRL pilots even in reissues instead of switching over to the HIkaru VF-1s Mold :(

but if you don't care about that, buy a Roy because most new Roy's floating around now (3rd and 4th reissues) have all the same improvements as the Hikaru VF-1s.

BTW 99.99 looks too good ot be true. Check the shipping costs

  6. Most people will tell you to mix future with a flat base (like Tamiya) and spray it on. You should be able to find some web-sites that have the correct ratios on mixing it. Works wonders and have never heard a complaint about it in the last 5 years that I've known the technique.

  7. Wow that Macross looks fantastic.

As for the nay sayers who are all saying things like "Wait for Yamato to make one", they won't even do two-seater VF-1's for us..what makes you think they'll make the Macross? :p

Props to Wave for making the first ever DYRL version Macross in Toy Form. Can't wait to have one.

  8. I disagree that only the VF-1 needed fast packs.

The VF-0's are supposedly an older less advanced design and their Conformal Leg Tanks are the best example of Conventional Fast Packs in the Macross World.

If I remember Correctly, VF-0's weren't running on Nuke Engines thus needed buttloads of fuel to get around.

Now the Ghost Booster? uh.. wtf is all i gotta say lol

  9. I don't see why they don't just make some parallel storylines to the original macross like Bandai has done with Gundam.

A story of a few green pilots rushed from the training ground to the battlefield during Space War 1 could work. They wouldn't even have to be cannon fodders, they could be in a unique squadron similiar to the one featured in the macross PS2 game.

A good pacing and mix of of crew drama and combat as seen in Battlestar Galactica could serve the series quite well.

Anyone may say "omg what an unoriginal idea", but hey.. i'd rather be watching a dark, gritty rehashed BSG-like Macross than...say... "super hippy wtf-ing hell am I watching" catastrofrak known as Macross Zero.

  10. How else can some of us justify this hobby to their wives?

You have your shoes, I have my valks :p

I get away with buying a valk every 2 months :p

    50 dollars of "fun money" per paycheck, 2 paychecks a week x 2 months = 1/48 valk :p

Kinda wish Yamato Released all the 1/48's before I got married so that I could splurge on like 4-5 valks a month and as a result live paycheck to paycheck again :p

  11. "Clash of the bionoids" rocks because:

Roy sounds like Roy, and his lines are so hilariously bad and memorable that they rock.

Minmay doesn't sound like an annoying dink

Without Clash of the bionoids, I would never have learned about Macross.

    "Now watch jet-Jockey in action"

  12. Can't really beat Akihabara. Sift around on the main street and you'll find quite a few toy stores selling new and used Macross Goods.

For people like me who buy their macross Toys to play around with and fly them around the house (despite the weird looks from the wife), it's perfect because you can find Perfectly min-condition Valkyries in beat-up boxes for huge discounts.

For example, I got a cannon Fodder VF-1a for 8500 yen because the box has a huge tear on the side, thus making it worthless to hard-core collectors. However, I didn't give a hoot. Ditched the box and now have a lil fodder valk to play around with :D

If you're looking around for mib Valks in C9-C10 boxes, you're prolly much better off ordering from respectable Online Shops because how the hell else are you going to properly pack those oversized yamato boxes in your luggage, not to mention the heart-ache that ensues when you openyour luggage at home and find a dent in your no-longer c9-c10 box :p

  13. Do rub-on decals ala Bandais Master Grade Gundam series. Looks a whole lot purtier and they stay on just great with a dull-coat and don't have that cheap sticker look.

    OR...

For God's Sake print Decal Sheets with a BLUE background. Do you know how many cuts I got carving out the Itty bitty white line GPB decals (ie the Elbow Vent Line Decal). Carving them would be no problem if it weren't for carving White off of SHINY WHITE. Yeesh O_o

  14. Just finished reading up HLJ's Sci-fi report and it looks like Wave is going to release a VF-0 Battroid. Funny thing is Hasegawa is also going to release their vf-0 battroid heh heh.

I wonder if they'll both be 1/72 scale and which one will be better.

Wave's previous offerings have been pretty great in terms of Macross Battroids. I particularly liked their re-released vf-17 kit that came out quite a bit ago. Perhaps with the experience they've had they may be able to top Hasegawa's offering, despite hasegawa releasing a very nice, if not suepr fragile vf-1 battroid heh heh. ;D

ANywho... I think I'll be buying 1 of each just cuz heh heh

  15. I use two different glues. Mainly for small parts and such I use Tamiya liquid cement (with the brush). I use it simply because it sticks really really fast since its acetone based.

FOr really really large joints that need to be glued, I use testors liquid cement (non toxic type) that comes in a black bottle with its own pipette applicator. It works much better for me than the tamiya for big parts simply beacuse the tamiya reacts way too fast and by the time you finish brushing the end of one piece the starting end is already reacted and non-sticky. Super glue is a last resort for some crazy pieces.
