Bandai n00b here: what does DX mean?
-
Thanks Greg!
I just saw the notice from Shapeways, and was wondering if it was somebody from the forums. That will be the latest version, with some minor fixes and extra little eye clamshell pieces. I haven't even got a print of it yet, so I'm excited to see how it turn out!

I'll make sure I post pics, then.
Bring on the A head - please!

The short versions of "Scarlet Scarf", "Kioku no Hikari" and "Yosoro ~ Hoshi no Umi wo Koete" are the last 3 tracks. The full versions were released in singles.
Thanks

Looks like this series has inspired the release of a kit from previous series'

Nice!!

Very nice - I'm a huge fan of the Wave kits (see my avatar). Thanks for the inspiration.

As for your question, any answer is purely speculative. Though they use the data collected in episode 10 to modify the ships systems for subspace detection and to build those sonar buoys, the dimensional rift might be a different dimension from the one used by the UX-01, just with similar basic characteristics. If it was the exact same thing, not only would the UX-01 suffer power loss but it wouldn't be able to return to normal space. My more nerdy take on it is that the rift in episode 10 is a anomalous, self contained pocket of subspace separated from normal space by what they call the dimensional boundary layer. It is in this dimensional boundary layer that the UX-01 navigates, without actually crossing it. It can also be seen like our oceans, down to a certain depth the ship does fine, cross that and there's trouble.
Sounds workable - thanks for taking the time to think through an answer. I'll pass that one on to my son.

Cool - wonder when the Garmilla tank is coming out?
Watched chapter 5 last night. Wow. How do they keep making it better with every episode?!
Quick question (from my 9 y.o. son!) - how does the UX-01 operate in the dimensional rift and not lose power?

Had to work late - missed picking volume 5 up from the Post Office 'late collection' by 15 minutes - it's trapped there until Monday

Less than a week for Volume 5 to hit stores. Here's a taste of things to come
Wasn't it released on the 22nd?!?

Spectacular body... I don't care for her face.
She's a prawn (shrimp for our US friends): great body, throw away her head..

Maybe. I've got a lot of paid work I am working on at the moment, and still have a Frontier-themed drawing and another DYRL-themed drawing gestating in my head.
Nice!

Looks awesome: any chance of a SDFM version?

Still useful for the 'hanger maintenance diorama' ....

Got it: 'Q' parts rather than 'C' parts.
Thanks

Just noticed this, but the head lasers in battroid look angled. Are they going to look like this in fighter mode, or do they swap out?
If you look at the lasers, the front ones are splayed/angled differently to the rear ones. This is probably so the ones closest the fuselage can clear it when rotated forward.

The undercarriage looks like its 1/144!

Yes, that's the 1/72 Hasegawa kit. That "E" kit is discontinued, but most of the parts are from their '94 "C" release, with holds up pretty well. I only added a pilot from their aircraft personnel kit and some plastic bits for additional details in the cockpit.
very nice - I have the 48, but the 72 has an overall a 'nicer' feel to it.
