  1. i agree. i dont mind using AIM. my AIM name is also in my profile. feel free to say hi anyone.
  2. nah he will run around the streets with Deckard retiring REPLICANTS (he was Gaff in blade runner ) and making origami men. i actually think Edward James Olmos was a good choice. he doesnt have that pretty boy image. i also like how the new game is a prequel to the TV series thats out now.
  3. actually a 32 scale F16 isnt at all that big. now a 32 scale F15E is BIG if the 16 comes with markings for the 63rd FTRSQ out at Luke AFB in AZ then ill get it. im making 32 scale models of all the squadrons i have been in. i need to get this VF-0 it is actually a different looking kit for once. how is the overall parts breakdown and detail? or do i have to wait for a buildup from WM to see how it is.
  4. i have a 72 scale hase one for right now and i agree the color they come up with seems too beige. so i took testors acryl radome tan and 50/50 mixed it with white and did some postshading and now it looks right. ill just do the same on this one. thanks looks like i was on the right track and your info helped. i think this sculpt looks better than hasegawas. the hase one looks too slim on the "neck" area and the foreward canards behind the cockpit look too long.
  5. in Jin Roh it was all bass and no chatter at all. in SPR though it is very close i agree it sounded slowed down but they didnt rerecord any gunfire in the film thats why there is no bass but more popping. "Live" bass from a gunshot does not record very well it has to be artificially created. the slower rate of fire could be that they were using backdated MG3s.i was out at the firing range testing out the one from our museum before we got it demilled oh well another piece of history gone. also the german military still uses the MG42 design to this day it is renamed the MG3 looks the same except black. its my favorite weapon. anyway back to the macross gun sounds my second favorite has to be the macross plus movie version YF-21 gunpods. thats also MG42/3 just slowed down too.
  6. Hardpoint: military technical term for a hardened area in an acft wing that is capable of having fully loaded pylons attached to it. since these loads can exceed 2000 pounds or more they structurally reinforce the area hence the term hadrpoint. The pylon is what the stores attach to no ordinance attaches directly to the aircraft. there is always a pylon or bomb rack mounted to a hardpoint for that.
  7. AAFES jacks their prices. AAFES price for a bulb for my projector 210 dollars, Hitachi price from main site 170 dollars. they never get anything in on time either. new games and movies come out sometimes you can be waiting weeks or months for AAFES to get it. Only the largest most overblown movie/Game releases are in on time. i had to order KOTOR 2 off ebay and its been out for almost a month now
  8. ok ill be good(smacks head on pillow) i knew you were getting them out soon it just makes me want to build them more when i see some completed ones(smacks head on cat). excellent work again Kurt. what color did you use for this one?
  9. uuurrrrggghhh... the anticipation...(smacks head on table). need to have mine in hands soon. (continues smacking head into hard inanimate objects)
  10. the cracks were from the "glossy" paint underneath not being as hard as the flat areas and the overcoat you sprayed on contracted as it dried. the glossy part flexed and split causing the cracks you saw. the overcoat dried too quickly.
  11. only certain sections. the actual wide pan shots of the bridge were mattpaintings in ESB and a fully realised set in ROTJ. the caption also says it is executor. the main matte paintings were for the foreward section with the windows when vader was in front of them. they may have actually built those this time.
  12. coota0 in the DVD box set for starwars on the special features disc there is a photo gallery with a pic of the executors bridge. underneath the pic there is a caption saying that the bridge had to be reconstructed for filming in episode 3.
  13. as i thought they mover the shoulder foreward and thinned the upper portion the kit one is at least 1/3 thicker. the wings also ride a little higher to allow the elbow of the strike package to go below the wings. i just hate losing the poseability but if it works out ok i may find a good pose for it. i just watched DYRL? again and the wings do lower toward the waist when there are stores on the wings in battroid mode. it looks weird if its tried on the kit though. ill see what i can come up with i have some spare poly caps around i might make a ball joint for the shoulder to allow for more range of motion. thanks a bunch sean
  14. your right . i did some test fitting and the fighter wings fit right but allow absolutely no poseability in the arms or wings. so im going to go with the origional wings and keep them folded back . i wanted to have a nice fully loaded hikaru skull one with some poseability too. it looks like hase also fudged up the legs too. i compared the leg design to their fighter kit and the legs are fatter along with the intakes. on a side note the battroid kit itself fits really well and needed absolutely no filler, but the strike package and fast packs did not. the seams on the fast packs were not flush and the plastic was hard as a rock and did not sand well. im actually disappointed with hasegawa. i was expecting a kit that would have the lines and proportions of a 1/48 yamato in battroid but it looks like they used a few bandai/ toynami cheats to get the anime look for it. how is the spacing on the 1/48 yamatos on the shoulders. i could shave off the pivot pins on the shoulders and reglue them further back on the shoulder themselves to move the shoulder foreward and allow for some movement. overall i have to give hase an A for effort but a C for overall execution and options.
  15. ok all the subassemblies are built and seam filling done except fr the wings and back portion. ill give this a day or 2 to get a response. but if no other ideas come forth ill scrap my VF1A for its wings and see how they do. it isnt complete either but its the only way i see of getting missile pods on the hasegawa strike battroid.
  16. i didnt mean that is to not give anything. id just rather see supplies and construction materials and food going in there. also otherthings that could be of immeadiate on site help not just money that tends to disappear and not make a difference to the homeless once the recieving government gets it. look at the food riots some places are having. give them more food distribution centers from the red cross not money from our government that will disappear. thats why i donated at my squadron the red cross works on donations not on government allotments.
  17. the shipping i paid was 10 dollars and it arrived quickly. they have a few different ptions for shipping but they are reasonable.
  18. DYRL? sounded cleanest. JinRoh had the worst sound for the MG42 they used. it didnt chatter enough. if you watch saving private ryan the sound it should have had is clearly heard in the opening scene when the gate drops and the camera is in the bunker.
  19. while this kit is hailed as one of the better battroid kits on the market im POed at hase. the wings are too short and leave no room outside the shoulders to mount the missile pods from the weapons set. will a fighter mode kits wings fit? i looked at DYRL? and the wings magically appear to be lower on the body (more towards the waist) to allow this to happen. i have a blank canvas of a kit now and it looks naked without its wings spread and a loadout on them. any tips will help. sean
  20. good point pat good point. i still cant wait to see the SSD Executor on screen again. im going to get chills up my spine. i think its one of the most impressive ships in the series.
  21. i only ever saw 1 on ebay. it was going for 150 english pounds. at the current exchange rate that is almost 300 dollars. i think hobbyfan is the best bet unless someone here does another recast at a cheaper rate.
  22. im going to miss david prowse in the costume. he is a great man and i have talked to him a few times since arriving in england. these days he physically is not be able to play vader anymore. hayden on the other hand may give his best acting since we dont have to look at his face. .
  23. these pics are a testament to the design of the herky jerk though. the airframe design is almost 50 years old and is showing no sign of being retired anytime soon. anther thing is that there was no loss of life(thank god) to add to that class A mishap.
  24. well i mean no offence to anyone in the Tsunami countries but our tax dollars are being thrown over there to help yet noone outside the US lifted a finger to help out in florida after 3 hurricanes hit basically the same spot in one month. the money sent to other countries could have had that flightline fixed weeks ago. my heartfelt sorrow does go out to tsunami victims in all countries hit by it. i wish anyone here the best and speediest recovery if affected by it. i have donated money myself toward relief efforts.
  25. That flightline should have been shut down to any and all traffic. it shows a huge lack of ORM(Operational Risk Management). that base commander will be strung up i think. accidents like this are becoming more common lately because of the OPS tempo that has not slacked off since 9/11 .
