  1. Darn. I was waiting for you to post it to PM you. If there's anybody else that preorders multiples and is planning on doing the same please let me know or PM me. Thanks, guys.
  2. Thanks, everyone. I appreciate it. That helps a lot. Anybody happen to know about what time (I'm PST) Mandarake posts new items to their website? They seem to do it at the same time but I haven't been able to nail down the exact time they do it. Also, I know somebody else mentioned this a page or so ago, but if anybody decides they don't need one of their Roy DX preorders, please let me know as I'd definitely be interested. Thanks again for all the help, y'all.
  3. Out of curiosity....anybody know what the shipping on this would come out to? I know it's already sold, but it would be good to know when I'm thinking about buying something, how much I could expect to be paying total. Their website wasn't too clear about what was available or the cost of what could be available.
  4. Damn. Right on.
  5. Are these dates for preorders or have the preorders already happened and these are the dates for when the toys actually start shipping?
  6. I'm actually wishing you didn't get the word out as well as you did. If you hadn't, I'd be waiting on a shiny new (to me) 1S DX right now. By the way, thanks to everyone for the help, both information wise and heads up on possible available toys. I really do appreciate it.
  7. Sorry, man. I actually thought I saw it on there for more and the thread I thought I saw it on actually said that they'd already lowered the price, it just wasn't a price I wanted to pay.....could be that I was either looking at a different ad or got two mixed up. Was not in any way trying to bag on a price, whatever I thought it was. I was more annoyed at myself because I stopped looking at a topic for a bit and missed a deal that I would have loved to jump on.
  8. This is what I was worried about and why I refuse to pay crazy amounts for these toys. I'd rather wait and find a good price or not get one at all, sucky as that would be.
  9. Damn! I'd seen that ad up but that is definitely NOT the price that was up when I saw it. That definitely ended up being a great deal. I've subscribed to that topic, but I guess changes to individual threads don't send alerts? If I'd have seen the price had changed to what it did, I would have picked it up for sure.
  10. Arise and Beneath the Remains were Sepultura at their height, in my opinion. By the time the Justice album came out, I was firmly entrenched in the thrash scene. Growing up in the 80s and 90s in the Bay Area, I feel blessed to have been raised in the golden age and area of metal. Having the opportunity to see many bands (GWAR, Death, Exodus, Death Angel, Violence, Primus, among others) at tiny venues like The Stone, The Omni, One Step Beyond, etc...and buying their demo tapes before they got huge. That also meant, being in a band, that I would get to play those same venues...often times only a few nights after I'd just been there to watch a concert. I remember vividly, sound testing my kit, looking up at the ceiling and seeing blood and other.....fluids....from the GWAR concert I'd just seen a few nights prior. As a 17 year old kid, I can't tell you how cool that was. I'd spend many an hour walking down the aisles of Tower Records, looking for tapes and imports of bands that looked cool or that I'd seen. Some were terrible and I'd quickly toss. Others, I'd listen to so much in my walkman that I'd wear out the wording so that you could no longer tell what song or even side it was unless you put tape on it. It was a great time in my life, which is why I still listen to a lot of it with a huge smile on my face. It's also why I still love Macross so much. I really do hope that they end up releasing the GBP. That was also one of the toys that I always wanted but could never afford and just haven't bitten the bullet to buy. I'd see those and the old Gakkens at the comic conventions (when there were actually comics at conventions) and wish we weren't so poor.
  11. I'm just impressed you know what a tape is. Metallica represented the height of what a garage band could aspire to and the Justice album sounded like a garage band. I remember cutting school to go to Tower Records to get that album when it was released, rushing home to listen to it with my best friend/guitarist, being blown away by Blackened only to be completely disappointed by the rest of the album up until Dyer's Eve at the end. That time has some great memories for me as a couple of years prior to that I happened on a cartoon that looked like a Japanese version of Transformers (yes, I know how stupid that sounds, but at 12 y/o, I had no idea Transformers WEREN'T American) where planes exploded BEFORE people ejected and they killed my favorite character two weeks in. I was hooked. None of the other Macross shows captured my imagination like the original, as cool as some of the other designs are. And Newstead's neutered sound stemmed from suffering the terrible affliction of not being Cliff. Sad but true (no pun intended).
  12. Not judging at all, my man. Just wanted to get an idea of what the original cost of them were. Shoot....even $450 is $100 cheaper than anything I saw while perusing Ebay. Wish I would have seen your sale as it sounds exactly like what I'd be looking for. I'm in no rush, though. If it takes me a year or three or never, I'm cool. I've got plenty of other toys to play with. First world problems, right?
  13. How much were these things MSRP?
  14. There's no way I'd lower myself to watching a Metallica concert nowadays. Being around a bunch of 50 year old cats who sit down to watch a watered down version of the band I grew up idolizing, or a bunch of kids who have no idea who Cliff Burton is would make me lose all faith in humanity. Besides, I was lucky enough to see them twice in the late 80s and early 90s and once at an improv/FREE show at the Raiders/Titans AFC Championship Game (YES, the Raiders have been in the playoffs). Dang. What's with the fervor behind these things? Are they that amazing that everyone wants them? Thanks for the link, by the way. Cuts down the search for me to find info.
  15. Yeah, I'm not getting any at the prices they're going for now, just on principle. I don't have a problem being at my computer at a certain time to pre order something. Are the preorders on these things selling that fast? My experience with pre orders has always been chill. Why is there such a problem? Is Bandai clueless about the demand for their product and not releasing enough? Sorry if I'm asking questions that have been answered a million times over. But, I really like the 1/48 size for the original Valkyrie and my old Yamatos are great but they're kind of floppy by nature.
  16. There was a pre-order for the 1S in July? Damn....that and the 1J would be what I'd be interested in. For Sale section is a great idea. Think I got my Low Vis 1/48 years ago from the For Sale section and had a great experience. I'm not sure what you mean by very few of you buy Macross at MSRP. Do you mean you're buying over MSRP or under?
  17. I'm late to this whole thing and 550 pages is too many to try and find the answer, but are there any possibilities of Bandai reissuing these? What other variants (if any) are they planning on releasing and who has preorders when they release? BBTS? Amazon.jp? I have a few of the old Yamato 1/48s and love them but these seem to be just a bit better. There's no way I'm paying $500 for one, though.
  18. Riobot's sculpt of the VR-038L is amazing. I'm in, no matter what color it is. I think I'd get it even if they came out with Fuke's red one. I'm not a big fan of pink and I like red even less (sorry, Ducati). That being said, I firmly believe that Fuke's ride armor should still be red....as is her Legioss. Was still really looking forward to the Bartley ride armor, especially after Beagle teased their amazing sculpt so many years ago, only to be denied. That one still hurts.
  19. I think you're spot on with it being intentional. If you compare Riobot's pics of the two Legioss, you can see where the Zeta's color variances pretty much coincide with the white trim on the Eta. Oh, well. Not a big fan, but here's to hoping it's one of those things that grows on me or looks better in hand. At least it was an intentional choice vs it being accidental, but I still wish it was a solid dark red.
  20. Looks like somebody shoulda put a ring on it. I put a preorder on it, though. Still looks pretty damn good.
  21. I'd be fine with a pink variant, as long as that's what it was.....a variant. I'm hoping the main character Gate from this new series has a pink VR-038L and that's what we're seeing. Especially since these new characters' story is supposed to be running along side the established cannon. If they haven't changed the color of any of the other original characters' ride armors, don't see why they'd make such a drastic change to Fuke's. That's my hope, anyway. Edit: Besides....Fuke was a badass. If they changed anybody's ride armor to pink, it should have been Yellow's. Just sayin.
  22. I really hope they're not planning on making the Houquet ride armor pink.
  23. Really? That's a thing? Man. I had no idea. I know it's just a toy, but my imagination runs away with me whenever I look at or handle these toys and that always took away from that. It reminded me that it was a toy, as stupid and childish as that sounds. Ah, well. Like I said, won't stop me from getting it. My inner geek will just have to ignore it.
  24. I've never been a fan of the Zeta, but I gotta admit...Riobot really nailed it with the fire engine red that they went with. There are a few inconsistencies with the color that I hope they fix or are just lighting. Mainly, on the wings, here.... And on the head, here.... That's always been a peeve of mine, not to mention, it's been my experience that these color discrepancies only get worse with age with these toys, especially if they're on display or out a lot, like mine are. I don't think it's enough to keep me from preordering one, though. These things are amazing.
  25. The expense of that tech sucks, but everything on Italian motorcycles is expensive ($30 for two ignition security bolts, Ducati? Really!?). On top of that, it just seems like modern motorcycles sacrifice the riding experience for riding ease. Part of what is so exhilarating about riding is just how connected you and the motorcycle become. How every shift of your body, squeeze of your hand or breath you take creates a reaction from the bike. Hell, it can even tell what direction you're looking. Conversely, that bike gives you just as much feedback in return, and all these new features...quick shifters, traction control, launch control, WHEELIE control, dynamic damping, blah, blah, blah....they just create a disconnect form the bike, in my opinion, and don't allow a person to truly RIDE. That's part of what I thought was so cool about the ride armors. Even when they transformed, they did it in a way that kept rider and bike one. The pilot wasn't just inside a robot, the bike was part of him. On another note, I always felt that the 1199 was a dead ringer for Yellow's VR-41H. Compare that to... With the right paint scheme, they'd be pretty damn close, which would be amazing. I just don't have the balls to do it to mine. Ha!!
