  1. if they make it, i will come.

i definitely would NOT buy it if the price was over $200.....no way in hell! it doesn't make sense to pay that much, period.

in the scale they'd have to make it, they wouldn't be able to do much with it IMHO. yeah it might transform and have some articulation but what other features can build into it? some opening doors and hatches ain't gonna cut it for $200, not for me any way.

  2. i still say make your own, like this one.  :D

no paint was needed, i basically took the left over blue outlined portion of the FP stickers and cut it to fit for the markigns on the head.

Yeah, but even for simple customs/conversions like this, not everyone has the skill to do them.

this is as simple as it gets, it took 10 minutes to swap out the heads. the trick is not to actually removed the heads from the swivel piece(dark grey piece attached to the head). just remove the screw right underneath the wheel of the front langing gear. pull it apart, swap out the the piece with the attached head, put it back together and thats about it. :)

i originally tried to unscrew the head from the swivel piece but that doesn't work

too well. the A heads come off nice and easy, but the S and J heads are hard to take off and even harder to put back on. :(

the stickers, i did this using scissors and it took 5 minutes to cut out. all i had to do was follow the blue border of the left over part from the FP stx(#6 on the FP sticker sheet). if you're looking at it, this would make more sense but you'll see what i'm talking about.

its the same width and shape as the the yellow painted arrow in the side of the S head. just cut along the borders, peal, stick, you're done. :)

  4. of course i think the prices of macross toys are expensive...don't we all?

do i think 1/48 are worth $150? HELL NO, but it isn't stopping me from buying them. ;) it wouldn't be the first time i paid for something that wasn't worth the cost, but thats up to each individual to decide.

  5. Great deal with Haterist

    Thanks Gene!

a most pleasureable transaction with Mechamaniac. :)

and no, no, no, thank you. :D

    **added 4/13/04**

another shout out to Mechamaniac (andy) who was honest to tell me about a small part that i accidentally left on the valk i sold him but not only that, he even shipped it back to me. anyhoo, i think he deserves another shout out for his honesty. :)

  6. Woohoo! Raleigh, North Carolina here! If there are any other Macrossworld members in NC, I'd be pleasantly surprised.

Which reminds me, would there be any proper way to attempt to track down someone by name and see if they are a member of the site? I'd be really interested to know if the former president of the ECU School of Anything Goes Anime club is here somewhere and I've just never realized it. That guy was a diehard Macross fan, and I wouldn't mind catching up with him.

Yeah brutha... I'm in Fayettenam. This town sucks for anime, and general culture, but I do enjoy the Carolina style barbeque. ;)

    whhhhaaaattttt!

wolfpac in DA HOUSE! i went to college at NC state and ended moving to durham for a while. i miss NC...free parties, free beer, free chicks, everything is cheap, man that was the life. B))

i actually granduated from hillside high school....i think i was the first non-black graduate in that school ever. 1 asian guy and 1000+ black dudes all looking at me like, "WTF are you doing here?"

    fayettenam...thats good stuff.

  7. Battlecry was alright, but I will NEVER forgive it (or any Macross games, I'm not bias) for having extremely limited ceilings....that and if you ran into anything you were slammed into battloid mode - not a great way to fight :/

i didn't like how it had the ceilings either but it wasn't that bad of a deal to transform into battroid mode, you just had to be quick to use the counter fire button and gun down the enemy missiles.

i'd really like to play the new macross game but i don't understand japanese nor do i have a compatiable PS2. :(

  8. why don't people just buy the resin heads that are available? it seems like the easiest choice. i understand that die-hard collectors don't get down with customs but IMO, its the best alternative to something that won't/hasn't been made.

i don't know why everyone dislikes the 1A max, i think its great! though, it would look cool with an S head. B)) i think i'm gonna score some extra heads when i get some loot up....

  9. I would be concerned for the current freedom of that individual above anything else. What he/she/it has done constitutes fraud by deception. Since it was across state lines it now involves the FBI, which makes it federal, as well as, local. It would be a 3rd degree felony per INCIDENT. I would be very afraid if I were him.

Now, If you were ripped off by this guy, I would contact HIS local law enforcement agency (police, sheriff's office) and report it and see where it goes from there. I know where I work, the sheriff's office has fraud investigators. :)

Hmmm, not a bad idea. arafat209 lives in Paterson, NJ and one of my really close friends, Chris, is the assistant county prosecutor for Passaic County (which Paterson is in.)

I'll ask Chris in the next few days whether or not pressing fraud charges through the local law enforcement agencies will be the effective.

damn dood, you got a vendetta against this guy don't you?

  10. i stay away from CC at all costs. yes they're good for building credit but they're even better at ruining it.

the way i see it is, if i don't have all the money up front, i just don't buy it. even when i bought my first car(nissan altima)i paid straight cash for it, no tax. :D the car salesmen didn't seem to mind since he got his commission that very day and the dealership owner was completely psyched, i mean, who goes into a dealership and pays in cash?...well other than rock stars. :p

BTW, i don't have cash like that lying around, it took me forever to save, from hustling, working 2 jobs, and lots of b-day/x-mas money. but hey, in the end, i didn't have any car payments to worry about nor did the car end up costing me $30k cause of interest. <_<

it just goes to show if you really want something, you'll find a way to save up for it. i'm not saying everyone should do this but if you can control yourself and budget your expenses(and live at home at the time ;) ), anything is possible. :)

  11. Game plays like crap. The only redeeming point of this game is Jet Li himself.

At least it's not as crappy as that Bruce Lee game on the XBOX or that Steven Seagal game on the SNES.

what part of it plays like crap?

yeah it takes a while to just use to, but after you figure how to do the different counter moves(took me a while), different throws/grabs(still working on it) and the cooperative fighting(i don't have a clue how to do it), its rather fun to play.

don't know about you guys but i like the use of both the joysticks.

well all i know, is i kicked a lot of butt and took some names. :p i'm in the process of playing it the second time around on "hard" and boy, is the hard, MAD hard!

  12. I'll never buy a 1/60 VF again. They look good but they turn into a floppy mess.

not true...well atleast in fighter mode. :p

though it has the "loose factor" i think they're great as long as you got some balancing skills.

i played with a 1/60 max the other day, along with my 1/48 1J and i must say the 1/60's are so much more poseable than the 1/48. don't get me wrong the 1/48s are pretty cool but i like that the 1/60's are afforable and you can get so many different poses out of them.

    my last purchase,

i fortunately/unfortunately bought a couple of 1/48s(before i knew i had to get ankle surgery :( ) and couldn't bring myself to back out of the deal. yeah i need the money more but i'd feel like a total hypocrite since i hate it when people back out on me. it also didn't help that the seller was doing me a HUGE favor to top it off. i wish i could've reneg-ed on the deal but it just isn't right after i paid and he got everything ready to go....thats shits just foul.

that will be my last macross purchase for a long time....damn my ankle!

  13. since i'm jus laid up i bought this game and after 15 hours of straight, i finally beat it!

for those of you, who thought about buying this game, it a must. B))

simply put, its kung-fu madness at its best. it took a while to figure out the controls but after a while you get the hang of it and the game starts to get really fresh. once you beat it, you get different cothing option, one of them being jet li in a monk uniform.

    anyone else tried this game?

    **added**

so totally the wrong section, sorry dudes. :(

  14. keep it an sell some other stuff....unless you're dying or your mom needs an operation, i wouldn't sell the low-viz.

i need surgery but i refuse to sell mine cause i know i'm gonna have to buy it back....and i'm not that big of a fan of the 1/48's. i'm selling off my 1S roy cause i figured yamato made a lot of them, and it won't be too difficult to find again. if i need to more money for the surgery, i'm going to sell of the 1J, and some other stuff, but the low-viz is a keeper. :)

  15. Another South American here

I´m from Argentina (there are others on this forum too)

    BOLUDO!!

my neighbors/friends i skate with are from argentina! good food, good music, good friends. :) they even got me drinking "man-te"(sp?).

its kind of crazy that i skate with a bunch of people that i can hardly understand but we chill together all the time....argentina's know how to have a good time. B))

    me...NYC

Yes we are very BOLUDOS...indeed. :D:D:lol::lol: Very funny!! It's almost surrealistic that you skate with argentinias in NYC. Mate is good but no for my stomach. :p

<....argentina's know how to have a good time> yes, and that seems to be one of our biggest problems...

whats really funny is theres this guy named Diego and they call him "Chino" cause hes sort of got slanty eyes(yes i can say that. :p) when i first met them they'd say, "boludo, blah-blah-blah, chino" and i know in spanish chino means chinese. so i'd just start talking since i thought they were talking me! it wasn't til weeks later i found out that diegos nickname was chino.

whats surreal is, i'm from korea, they're from argentina, we live in washington heights, which is like little DR(dominican republic). the only things we have in common are skating, drinking, smoking, and women. B)) thats probably what i like most about NYC, you meet people from all over the world.

  17. cool idea but the gun strap + gunpod sucks. :(

you have to take the strap off in fighter mode everytime, so whats the point? well unless you got a bunch of extra gunpods?

i basically have one gunpod with a strap that i rotate depending on who i'm displaying in battroid and/or grewalk modes. all the others have no straps...its just easier that way. :p

your best bet is to walk into a fabric store or some kind of crafts store and check out the samples. i'm sure they'll be something in there you can use. :)

  18. toybuyer7,

the only solution i can think of to rid the macross fans of "arafat209" is to basically email all the bidders on his auctions and advise them to stay away from him. i think if buyers/bidders see dozens upon dozens of emails from other macross fans that got dupped by him, they'll eventually avoid him as we do.

this is not allowed by ebay TOS but neither is lying in every single auction you have soooooo, in doing so, we cut him off at the knees, no money means no more auctions for this dirty rat bastid!

  19. the toys are about 1000 times better than anything out or thats probably gonna come out. yamato will only out do itself cause i really don't see another company that going to compete with them. even if yamato does a half-ass job, its not going to be nearly as crappy as something that toynami releases.

i too was/am fascinated by a plane that transforms into a robot. i guess that why i collected trasnformers when i was little but now, i'm just a valk-o-holic....

    so it a nutshell,

i like macross basically cause, i hate everything about robotech and robotech toys. :D
