1. Just to let you know, while Masterpiece Convoy is about twice as much as the Hybrid one, it's definetaly a better value, even if it doesn't come with a trailer IMO.... even if the Hybrid one is a tad more posable and detailed AND comes with a trailer, 50 bucks is still alot for such a small piece, expecially when you can stretch and own the best Transformer toy ever made.

    384406

Yeah the Hybrid prime is a neat little toy and i can't wait to display him on my desk, his poseability and articulation is amazing, not to mention the fact that he was designed by Mr. Kawamori... but the MP Prime is in a league of it's own. Simply the greatest transformer ever made IMO. What better toy to be a centerpiece in your collection than the 12" diecast built and superbly detailed monster that is MP/20th Annv. Prime. Both are great buys, but MP Prime is superior if you don't already own him.

  2. JP Vector Prime has more paint apps, and better colors overall.  Especially check the wings.

Yeah i made the mistake of buying the cybertron version thinking it was one of the only figures that was pretty much the same as the GF release. Boy was i wrong after i took a at gander at these pics:

    http://tfkenkon.com/collection/act294/

He doesn't have pictures of the american release granted, but you can find those anywhere and when you do, you'll see the differences.

  3. my friend left for japan today. he asked if i wanted anything. so, i want to be realisitc here. is it possible to find a 1/48 low viz or max in japan  especially outside of tokyo? kyatsu

    384310

I'm guessing just on pure speculation with what the market is like here (ebay etc.) that the max would probably be a little easier to find, simply based on the fact that the low viz was a limited edition release and it's commanding a huge price nowadays. I don't think you'll be finding one at the price it was released at i could be wrong though. Both are just about the hardest to come by valks since they've only each been released once.

  4. Is Samuel L. gonna give a rousing speech in the middle of the movie and then get eaten by a muthaf***in' snake?  :D

    384178

Boy that would be anti climatic to say the least... heh who would be left to stop the Snakes on the Plane!

  5. I'd like to try and convert (although I'm totally new at this) a 1/48 yamato valk into a replica of the Hasegawa model kit with the strike armor. If anyone knows where to get the moon vocal concert decals in 1/48 size, please fill me in! And a VF-1S head would be another plus. I appreciate any help once again! And thanks to everybody who's helped me in the past thus far!

Anasazi's the man to contact about decals:

    http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=18090

I'm sure he has the Minmay Guard Moon Act decals too.

As for a replacement head, those seem to be getting harder and harder to come by. There used to be an abundance of recast heads, but most ppl. either stopped or have just disappeared from the scene altogther. I think Neova might be cooking up a batch though:

  6. I have every toynami super poseable robotech figure. Except one, now. Two months ago I ordered the limited edition Hikaru VF-1S from a website called Toys 'n Joys. They never emailed me or sent the item after I paid for it. These people suck! I finally called them on the phone to ask why they don't return my emails and why I haven't received my merchandise, and they tell me they don't HAVE anymore of the item I already paid for and that they STILL have advertised on their webpage. So the collection I thought I had completed, lacks one more figure. If anyone out there can help me find one of these I'd be eternally grateful! I don't care if it's loose or even dinged up. Thanks a bunch!

Same thing happened to me about 3 years ago when i bought Zero Gunner (DC game) from their website. I waited and waited, keep in mind that i live in Hawaii now and that both of their stores are only about 15 mins away from my house, but for whatever reason they only had this game on their website and not in store so i purchased it online without asking questions. Finally i emailed them about my game 2 weeks after i paid for it and it turns out they'd been out of the game for going on a month, they didn't take it off their website in the meantime though... genius. Since then i try to stay away from shopping there both in person and online. Sad thing is that they always have alot of used games on sale and sometimes you can find some really rare stuff there too, so i guess it's give and take.

In the meantime you might want to try these guys i did a quick search of what you wanted and this was the first hit:

    Hope they still got em.

Thank you so much Veritas! I ordered one off their website. Hopefully they're more competent than Toys N' Joys! Right now I filed a dispute with them on Paypal so I can get my money back. (Toys N' Joys said they'd refund my money right away which is secret code for "we're not giving your money back for a few years." )

    thanks again!

Np Brian, i just really hope they got em in stock. I know how much it sucks to need just one rare/limited edition figure left to complete your collection, but in the meantime it's impossible to find anyone selling it. It's funny how your post about the bad service you recieved at toys n joys has turned this into a bad online selling experience post. I really hope everyone whos still waiting for their packages get them in due order and i hope this also serves as a warning to everyone else to be wary of places like toys n joys <_< .

  7. More THS-02 Convoy pics .

    383975

Awesome, thanks for the heads up black valkyrie (i was just about to call you black convoy haha), even though i've already preordered mine (and i'm hoping it sticks) everytime i see new pics it just blows me away at amazing this little figure is. I really hope takaratomy takes notice and opts for a second release with how popular the figure is becoming. Everyone needs one of these bad boys. :D

  8. geez man! THANKS ALOT! NOW I have to go get me one! It looks awesom! Guess I gotta get a Hot Rod to stick in the back too!

    383689

IIINM (If I Am Not Mistaken, haha) that's a Worlds Smallest Transformer of Hot Rod in the pics right?

    383845

Yes sir it is. If i remember i think he might even be one of the easier to find chases from the second series of WST. He's still a chase though i think, so you'll probably end up paying more than the price you would for some of the more run of the mill guys.

  10. I like them alot, but I only have Sound Wave and Laserbeak, I want to get a few more.

But I don't if anyone here knows, if they are ever going to make a Rumble Statue?

Since they already make Laserbeak and Ravage is coming out soon, it would only make sense to make a statue of the coolest cassette, but I haven't find info anywhere.

    383748

Sorry to break the news to you man, but palisades recently got bought out and they're closing their doors.

    http://www.tformers.com/article.php?sid=5516

I don't think we'll be seeing anymore of their statues.

  11. there is also a limited edition orange seeker jet.  sunfire, sunstorm,?

    383053

    Sunstorm.

    http://oneshallstand.com/2002-04/images/g1v3_issue2.jpg

He played a very large role in the first six issues of the Dreamwave Comic's Third G1 Series before it was canceled. Def. worth checking out. It's a great read with an awesome storyline IMO.

    SPOILER

Sunstorm ends up fighting Jetfire (Skyfire) a number of times throughout his run in the series.

  12. IIRC, the Patlabour Ingram Unit 1 is also going to be in this series.

However, I can see that the articulation isn't all that it's cracked up to be. Look at the Dougram's thighs to groin connection. It literally cannot stand straight up. The angle between the thighs cannot be altered (ie it cannot stand with feet next to each other, it's always feet apart)

It's like the earlier "monoshaft drive" gimmick...looks nice, but is actually very limited.

    381850

I don't know i'm holding out hope that these guys are all they're cracked up to be, because if they are i'm pretty certain i'm going to buy them all... some based solely on the coolness factor at the amount of articulation and poseability they have, since some of the series i haven't even seen. I guess we can all be the judge when they finally hit.

  13. DUNno what they are. Found pic on 2chan. :p

The left one is the test shot of the Alt./BT Mirage set to be released in May/June in the states. And yes he will be blue and white.

    100_6104.jpg

As for the Yellow and Black GT on the right, that's a picture of the Roadbots GT in Robot mode. The Roadbots line is about 1:18 in scale so it's alot bigger in comparison to Alt/BT's 1:24 scale. This line IMO is hit or miss. This one looks awesome, but some of the others they've released and have on the horizion look a little too blinged out for my tastes.

    RoadBots

  14. Ultimate remold:

MP Prime into a full Ultra Magnus.  It'd be one heck of a big trailer, but it'd be cool.  :)  Or just sell the trailer as an add-on for those who bought the Ultra Magnus MP repaint.

    380556

    You seen this?

    http://marksprojects.com/trailermp2.htm

He did a pretty damn good job, it's just too bad you'll be dropping almost a grand to get one. <_< Oh well if you're a huge magnus fan maybe you can justify it heh... but who's a huge magnus fan?

  15. As soon as either the hobby magazines for the next month hit or THS-02 (Hybrid G1 Prime) is released we can be one hundred percent certain one way or another whether this rumor is true. IMO i think it's true, not only because i want to believe it, but because it really makes sense if you think about it. I'm sure making a new Masterpiece mold for Takara with all the Diecast parts and the amount of detail that would have to be included in each release prevent them from going crazy on the line like they normally would on their main stream lines, so... with that in mind, what character could they come out with that is not only popular with alot of fans, but at the same time can easily be repainted and to an extent retooled into other characters? Starscream. A Starscream Masterpiece bascially means we can expect a Thundercracker and Skywarp Masterpiece some where along the line (keep in mind they might be exclusives, but i'm 99 percent sure we'll see em eventually) with Sunstorm and maybe even slight retools into the Coneheads (Dirge, Ramjet & Thrust) perhaps later on down the line. 7 potential toys from one mold sounds like a good bet to me, but i guess only time will tell, esp. if this intial rumor is just that... a rumor. :o
