I had to make the entire radar mast from scratch.

That's a great approach, it looks so much better with a separate canopy frame over the vacuform canopy.

AMP did this with their EDF Medivac Shuttle from Starblazers, worked very well.

Where do we stand with the canopies for this?

I've got a recast from G-system I think it was. It's a very good copy, all the metal and decals that were in the original came with it. I'll probably never get around to building the thing.

I'm gonna build this one, like all my Hasegawa valks, as non-transformable.

It actually came with some pretty good decals.
