  1. Looks fine to me!
  2. I'm quite familiar with Powerglide's original appearance. Not only did I watch the cartoon constantly as a kid, Powerglide was one of the toys I had. Yes, he did have a very simple look... a very simple look that the new toy fails to capture, despite a cone head and wings on his shoulders. Slap Prime's head and smokestacks on a figure that otherwise looks nothing like Prime, and I'll complain about that one too. It's moot. Classics are what got me back into Transformers, so I'll probably wind up buying all of them, with priority on the Deluxes.
  3. I agree that Rez is a great game and everyone should play it, but is it still worth the points if you've still got the PS2 version? Aside from more polished graphics, is there any other differences?
  4. Not yet, but I can later. 52", 1080i.
  5. Well, another big difference between Cloverfield and Blair Witch is that Cloverfield was actually pretty good, and Blair Witch was awful.
  6. So I should give Hasbro a cookie because the head looks vaguely like Powerglide's, and his wings form his shoulders? Even though the rest of the robot really doesn't look anything like him?
  7. It's to be expected. We demand poseable transforming robots first and foremost. It's pretty much a given that there's going to be sacrifices made to get that robot to transform into not one, but two alt modes. Like you've already pointed out, Octane (I refuse to call him Tankor) is already better than Classics Astrotrain. Onslaught looks better than the magazine cover depicted. I'm content with Sunstreaker, and I really like Prowl. Honestly, the only one I'm a little disappointed with is Powerglide, and that's mostly because if someone didn't tell me that it was Powerglide, I'd have never known. And I swear the only reason they're including him is because they don't want all the Autobots to be Deluxe cars, even though I personally would rather have Jazz, Wheeljack, or Hound.
  8. The difference between 720p and 1080p isn't as noticeable as you might think, is it?
  9. I'm guessing by now you've all seen the uncolored Classics 2.0 figures?
  10. Does anyone know which version of Robocop is on the Blu-ray? I have the Criterion DVD, and after seeing that version, I don't think I could go back to the theatrical release. However, I'm not loving the Criterion version's audio (actually, I'm not loving DVD in general anymore... upconverting the video can only do so much, and the audio just can't compete with Blu-ray or HD-DVD).
  11. I've heard that a few old Paramount films are turning up on Blu-ray at Amazon, but nothing to confirm that they're even supporting Blu-ray, let alone dumping HD-DVD in favor of them. I wish Paramount would just get it over with already. I need a new game, and if I knew that Transformers was coming to Blu-ray, I'd happily sell my HD-DVD equipment tomorrow.
  12. Thanks, yeah, I think I definitely prefer Energon. It's not that Armada is bad, I just don't care for his alt mode. Energon SS might not be a perfect F-22, but he's close enough that I want to play with him.
  13. Movies are getting too expensive to see mediocrity in the theater. For $2 more than the price of two matinee tickets I can buy a used Blu-ray from the CD Warehouse by my apartment, and watch it at home with my wife on my adequate home theater set up without putting up with uncomfortable theater seats (plus I don't have to wear pants... always a plus!). And, if I don't like it, I can resell it and wind up paying less in total than the matinee.
  14. What's this movie supposed to be about? In the trailer I saw, they had cavemen fighting mammoths a snowstorm, then suddenly they're building pyramids in the desert.
  15. Haven't heard anything about Doomsday, so I can't comment on it, but I saw the trailer for 10,000 BC when I saw Cloverfield. WTF is up with that movie? Is it about cavemen or ancient Egyptians? 'Cause one moment they were fighting mammoths in a snowstorm, the next building pyramids in the desert.
  16. Well, call me a pirate, but I saw (as I'm sure many of us did) Total Meltdown. I hope you're right about the schedule. Are they planning on finishing the season in the normal time frame (ie, new season starts in the fall)? If they are, we should have mostly new episodes until spring. But if they're on an unusual schedule (ala South Park) we're actually halfway through the first season. From what I've heard, 109 is a Halloween episode... I'd hate for them to actually air it around Halloween (unless it was a repeat by then). Man, I know Hasbro plans their lines way in advance and it's probably too late for them to change their minds on it, but I wish they'd realize that no one wants more movie repaints and start getting Animated toys into stores. Hasbro complains that lines like Alternators and Titanium didn't have cartoons to support it, but I don't think having a cartoon and no toys is any better.
  17. Checked Cartoon Network's schedule. Seems today's ep (which I haven't seen yet) is the last new episode for awhile.
  18. I can't play a game twice through in a row (with the possible exception of the Ace Combat games, and even then, it was a chore to finish 6 the second time). As I did with Jade Empire and KOTOR, I played ME as a good guy, and will eventually replay as a total apeface. But I've gotta have a few months between playthroughs. Honestly, I did start to replay ME to try to hit 60 and master the weapons I didn't the first time (pure soldier). I rescued Liara and finished Ferros, and then I just had to move on to something else. BTW, I finished each of the three Halo games once. Campaign-wise, none of them are worth replaying. Multiplayer-wise, the first Halo was fun, and I even had some good times with Halo 2. But Call of Duty 4 is just more fun than Halo 3.
  19. And all I'll be grabbing is the UPEO Typhoon. Ah, UPEO. Ace Combat needs more references to 3.
  20. Except that I picked that up on day one, and finished it once already. Can't fault you for the suggestion, though, as it's easily my favorite 360 game to date.
  21. I could be interested in an Armada Starscream or Megatron, but (I think I'm in a minority when I say this) I'd prefer their Energon counterparts. I almost bought the Deluxe Energon Starscream the first time around, but I just wasn't ready to get back into Transformers then. As for Megatron, yeah, his alt mode was crap, but I really liked his G1 Galvatron-ish appearance, as opposed to Armada Megatron who didn't look like anyone. You know what else would be cool? An Ultra-class G1-styled Scorponok. Doesn't have to be a Headmaster, or do the city mode. I'll be happy with a kick ass robot that turns into a kick ass scorpion. If they do that, though, I'll want a Primus-sized Fortress Maximus. But he'd still have to be a Headmaster on a Headmaster.
  22. I am jonesing for a new game, and I considered Burnout Paradise (as I really loved the previous Burnouts). But I honestly didn't care for the demo, so I'm thinking I might just hang in there a bit longer and pick up Devil May Cry 4 instead.
  23. I want to look forward to Prowl, but I reserve the right to get excited until I see some pics. Since Sideswipe was my first Transformer as a child, I was willing to let him slide and just get excited about the early concept art. Well, it's Classics that got me collecting again, so I'll probably buy the G1-inspired Classics 2.0 Universe toys, but that's probably it. I could maybe see myself buying any Optimus Prime reissues from earlier lines, or maybe Energon Megatron or Starscream, but for the most part, there's a reason I didn't buy any of those toys the first time. And yeah, I know Beast Wars was supposed to be a great show, but I'm not big on animal toys, even if they turn into giant robots.
  24. I gathered that. What I'm saying is that I'm giving Hasbro credit for even that much, especially since the earlier concept art pretty much looked like a yellow Sideswipe with Sunstreaker's head. I mean, Cliffjumper didn't even have a different head from Bumblebee. I know Hasbro likes to have some repaints to save some R&D costs, so I appreciate these little touches. The reason I'm asserting that Sideswipe will arguably be superior is because I think the mold will look more correct with a hood chest. But it's totally moot, as the both of them are the two Classics 2.0 figures I'm looking forward to the most.
  25. I'm fine with that Sunstreaker mold. I mean, yeah, the knees are a little weird, and I do wish he had hood feet, and I hope that engine is detachable in alt mode. But it looks enough like Sunstreaker, and I'm glad that he and Sideswipe (who will arguably wind up the better toy) aren't straight up repaints of each other.
