  1. Actually it is a 3 LP set on 2 CDs. The only other place that seems to have it in stock is the Anime Corner Store: Mospeada at Anime Corner Store This is fast disappearing from store shelves like Macross the Complete, so if you see it get it ASAP.
  2. The Full size mockup of the A-12 Avenger 2 is being preserved for future display in a Texas Museum: A-12 Mockup
  3. I did not mean it wouldn't play because it was a pirated copy. The ones I listend to, on four different CD players, had a static "chif-chif" sound in the background of some cuts. This was a ripping or mastering error, which is not present on the Japanese originals. Both times convinced me to seek out an original.
  4. I think Shinji at that moment was supposed to have been just released from the hospital. Have to check though.
  5. One thing to keep in mind is cost overruns. Will the F-22 sink the country further into debt, but be worth the price? The Navy A-12 Avenger II bomber program is a good example of such overruns. The program went over budget and behind schedule until then Sec. of Defense Dick Cheney cancelled it in 1991.
  6. I'd be wary of that one. I auditioned two different pressings by the same Taiwanese company and each had bad errors on discs one and two. When I got my Japanese legitimate issue, the errors were not present .
  7. CD Japan does seem to have it, but if you look its says it takes a number of days to order it, not that they have it in stock. I asked them if they would get it by the time my payment arrived to them, and the email I got said that they could not guarantee it. Anime Corner Store and Animenation likewise claimed it was no longer available, but I found my copy at a non-anime music retailer for about the same price if I ordered it from Japan.
  8. Unfortunately, the 3 CD Complete set is rapidly disappearing from many retailer's stocks, as it is possibly going out of print soon. Unless a monster box set is in the works, snag this set if you don't have it already.
  9. Northrop's Stealth fighter proposal presumably only existed as a full size RCS model and a few small scale wind tunnel models. I wonder if the reason an artist's rendering and a bad B&W photo of the RCS model have been released is because the same team worked on Tacit Blue? Tacit Blue was only declassified in the mid 1990s and not much else released other than photos of it in flight and a brief ceremony when the USAF dedicated it to the Air Force Museum. Tacit Blue:
  10. This photo of Have Blue 1001, presumably at Groom Lake, was released by accident around 1991 in Aviation Week & Space Technology 134, no. 16 (April 22, 1991): 30. The other photos have trickled out from time to time, and are on the Net. I'd have to dig through my more recent books to see which ones have photos of Have Blue 1001 and 1002. Mind you that much more from Have Blue and Senior Trend's testing phase remains classified, such as camera footage when one of the FSD F-117s lost a tail and landed safely
  11. Finally figured how to get this off my hard drive. Here is FSD 780 taxing during its first flight in 1981. Note the camouflage to mask the faceted design of the F-117 from prying eyes.
  12. That's what I was trying to say as I was going to post pictures, but I guess the ones on my computer were too large. Here is a photo of Senior Trend Full Scale Development (FSD) 780 in flight over Nevada with the facet masking scheme: Here is Have Blue in flight in a shade of gray: Have Blue 1002 at Burbank: Enjoy!
  13. The first F-117s were initially painted in a variety of schemes to mask the faceting upon the aircraft, then were painted a gray color, and finally painted black due to USAF orders
  14. Nope, it's before the attack on the factory. http://www.mahq.net/animation/macross/series/macep30.htm If I recall correctly, I think that Max said that Millia did that kind of thing often, but that baby Komilla was able to handle it because she was more study than normal human babies.
  15. I always believed in DYRL that Britai gave chase to the Macross, and he sent word to Bodolza about the Macross. Being that Earth could serve as a potential threat to the Zentradi if they had indeed allied themselves with the Meltrandi, I kind of figured Boldoza folded to Earth with the main fleet and destroyed it. I guess Britai could have done it himself, but anything's possible.
  16. As Misato tells Shinji in EoE, Second Impact was planned on purpose to minimize the damage caused if Adam and the other Angels awoke first. Quoting from the Death and Rebirth program Death and Rebirth Program: "In the year 2000, SEELE and Gendou attempted to minimize the damage by reducing the 1st Angel Adam to embryo form before the other Angels awakened. As a result, the 1st Angel Adam exploded in Antarctica, causing floods, volcanic eruptions, abnormal weather and other cataclysms around the world and killing half the world's population. " Gendou and SEELE wanted time to prepare before the Angels could reach Adam, so they had the research team push the Lance into Adam to revert Adam into an embronic state. The fact that Gendou left before the experiment Misato's father conducted was a sure sign he knew what would happen. If I remember, the security camera footage in Death and Rebirth and The Director's Cut had people yelling to pull the Lance out but it had sunk in too deep. Therefore, Second Impact occured and Adam reverted into an embryo. However, I thought the angels were themselves already separate from Adam as both Adam and Lilith were sources of Life. I figured they were slumbering elsewhere and according to SEELE's scrolls, were to awaken soon.
  17. Quoting the Red Cross Book movie program Red Cross Bookconcerning the Lance: "However, it appears that the original use of the Lance is not as a weapon, but that it is a necessary item for Instrumentality (Complementation) using Lilith." And about the Angels: "Beings originated from the source of life called Lilith. They take various sizes and shapes: from a giant octahedron to a minute Angel the size of bacteria, or even a 'shadow' Angel without tangible form. Borrowing Fuyutsuki's words in episode 26', it seems that Angels are beings which got the 'Fruit of Life' whereas humanity got the 'Fruit of Wisdom'. In other words, 'Angels' are another form of humankind with the same potential as humans. Thus, humans are the 18th Angel. " In the end, I think that is as close as anyone at Ganinax has ever come to explaining the relations in Evangelion as they stated that the mysticism present in Evangelion was used to merely convey a story and not any deep meaning. Quote by assistant director Kazuya Tsurumaki . Anno may know the overall answer as to where Lilith, Adam, and the lance came from, but he's moved away from animation in general I believe. Maybe since the manga is ongoing, these questions might be answered. Personally, I like the element of unanswered questions because everytime I watch Evangelion and EOE, I think of new viewpoints and interpretations.
  18. I liked it better when DYRL was merely a retelling of the TV story in a different manner as an independent work before it suddenly became a dramatic movie within the Macross universe
  19. Here's something to ponder, as translated from the Red Cross Book Red Cross Book"Although the personalities of these three Rei differ from one another, this is due to environmental factors. Their soul is one and the same, and it appears to have been that of Lilith." I've always wondered after seeing Naoko's encounter with Rei I if the first Rei clone contained a bit too much of Yui's personality. Rei I called Naoko an "Old Hag" and when pointed out that wasn't nice Rei I responded that Commander Ikari is the person who called her that. Maybe Yui did know of Naoko's intentions toward Gendou and tended to make fun of her behind her back. Hence, the final realization by Naoko equating Rei I and Yui as the same, which drove Naoko to suicide after strangling Rei I. I just got the Director's Cut episodes of this, but have tests to study for . Maybe I can watch them Spring Break.
  20. I guess that makes as good as explanation as any given DYRL is a fictionalized retelling of Space War one within the Macross Universe. I always figured even if the events in DYRL became more dramatic for the perceived post-war audience, that it followed the TV series somewhat by having Bodolza destroy Earth. I guess Britai decided to destroy first and ask questions later when it came to Earth since presumably the Macross opened fire first upon his fleet.
  21. I always liked Rei's Complementation process where she discusses her inner fears that what lies deep within her is not human and that essentially comes true when she unites with Lilith. The Albino Angel of Death-Yikes! Hmmm-I thought Rei used her AT Field to collapse Tabris' AT Field so Shinji could destroy him. I always figured Rei was coming apart at the seams because it was time for the angel in her to manifest itself and that presumably Rei could no longer hold human form. A bit of a later chapter in the manga mentions Ritsuko saying to Rei something along the lines that Rei could not maintain her body without help. Maybe in EOE without medical/drug treatment Rei's human form decays? It could even be the close proximity of Adam to Rei that accelerates the awakening or decay process. Adam was in suspended animation and sealed presumably in a shielded container until Gendou fused with Adam.
  22. I have the Saturn game, and it shows South Ataria receiving a few hits as the Macross folds out. I was wondering if any official source has stated who specifically destroyed Earth-Bodolza or Britai?
  23. As stated in the Red Cross Book about Ritsuko and translated by Bochan_bird Red Cross Book, "Like her mother, she was involved in an illicit relationship with Gendou Ikari, but then rebelled against him in the final stages of the Instrumentality Project and destroyed all the clones of Rei Ayanami as a means of taking her revenge." From the program to Death and Rebirth, also the same source Death and Rebirth Program, about Naoko: "She was Gendou's lover, but then committed suicide due to their relationship." Naoko also realized who Rei was when she saw her for the first time. Naoko got the flash of Yui's face upon seeing Rei I and sought to determine her suspicions which were later proven in the final confrontation between Rei I and Naoko.
  24. Plus, when Rei is a clone of Yui and Lilith, it boogles the mind to even think of Shinji being attracted to her
