  1. For guys only since both specimens from the tests are females - This can be a good test to find out whether you're the type who is only interested a woman's facial beauty or only her lady lumps, or both... for the dudes who are discerning enough to see both rotations in a single footage. If you look from the Dancer's feet up, you're a T&A lover. If you look at her face before gazing downwards, you're more interested in her looks. Now if you're gonna tell me that you're always looking for inner beauty, you're wasting your time with this test.

  2. On the Dancer, looking directly at her, she appears to go anti-clockwise. But you look at her from her head she's going clockwise.

The trick is to point your index finger outward and rotate anti-clockwise. Now without stopping the rotation, turn your index finger back at yourself - now your finger appears to rotate clockwise.

It's looking at the same movement but from different angles and you get a different result.

  3. If it's any consolation... the breakages at the points of articulation do happen but the Medicoms aren't exactly a certain transforming toy where I get so much doubt about it's first releases. With careful handling, most of my Medicom collection are still intact today - I have 8 pieces. At least one thing better about Medicom over Yamato for me at least, it's that the headsculpts, the 1/6 clothing & the attention to detail is consistent most of the time.

  4. I find MP-03 superior to all the valks released to this date. Cleaner, better transformation, more solid. THS-02 is pretty sweet too.

On that comment alone, I agree with you completely. The transformation designs that Bandai and Takara use makes Yamato's transforming toys feel piss poor infantile and antiquated. However, on looks alone, Kawamori's Macross valks' fighter, gerwalk & battroid (from Yamato especially) beat his own efforts for MP03 Starscream and the THS-02 Convoy hands down.

  5. Yeah, this one's worth the movie ticket. You also get to catch ol' Stan get mistaken for a sithlord in a pyjama. RDJ was ssssmoking! The only minor gripe was that so little happened in that movie - compared to the first spidey movie at least.

  6. Medicom is the Yamato of the 1/6 figure makers. Their figures offer the best poses compared to other 1/6 figure companies... but like Yamato, they choose to become retards when it comes to using sturdy materials where they matter most.

  7. When Kawamori puts his foot down it's usually for a good cause.

I know some Transfans will disagree with me though.

I can see why. He didn't really do a satisfactory design job with the MP03 and the THS-02 Prime.

  8. It's rock solid and toight like a tiger! Prepare to be blown away.

I'd wager that he's talking more about Graham junior, not the '21. In fact, every Yamato VF collector's junior is like that... until they notice the hiccups on the actual product.

Graham reacted the same way with his 1/60 YF19 sample just before it came out in the market - it didn't turn out to be a mutual feeling with everyone.

  9. Well, there's some new news on the official blog, from Bandai's sato4 about the toys: -

    Google translation:

If I'm reading this right, it sounds like Kawamori has told them to change a lot of stuff, which is causing delays.

This is to be expected, as Kawamori is something of a perfectionist and from my experience with Yamato, I know that Kawamori always asks for lots of changes, which often causes delays.

    Graham

I disagree. Kawamori forgot to ask for better plastic everytime! And Graham, we all know that the people at Yamato are hopelessly S L O W (nearly a decade of subpar products tell us that), please tell Yamato not to blame Kawamori for the changes he wants.

  10. I had no problems shelling out just over $300 for my VF-1A Low Vis 1, but is the Weathering Special worth even more? Your thoughts and opinions...

That's what Yamato wants you to believe. The real question is... are you a sheep or can you make your own decision without being told what to do?

  11. Good to see other people enjoying this beautiful model. Quick question though. I am always scared to death about transforming stuff for the first time, and I am having an issue with step 9. That movement with the leg just confuses me.

    Any help?

    EDIT

You know what. Holy crap is all I can say. Bout 5:30 into this video is what I'm talking about.

These legs are a PAIN to detach. I seriously feel like I'm going to snap something off. I'm curious the best way to go about it. Pull outward from the top? From the bottom? Straight out from all sides?

Pushl sideways out until you hear or feel a click, then pull down.

  12. EXO, i still want to know........what is that Visor made of? a pics?

I'm super curious myself. I have some chromium rainbow foil stickers but they're not quite your color though.

  13. So, the big question still stands: Who should play Motoko? I still think Kelly Hu has the right looks but acting skills? Hmm. OTOH, Motoko doesn't say a lot in Oshii's brooding vision. :-D

For the love of God, anyone but Kelly Hu. She has the bods but not the suitable face for Mokoto - her slit eyes are off and her chin gives out HUGE radar signature! Mokoto should be stealthy but Kelly Hu's chin is not. They should try someone like Fann Wong, then paste her face over Kelly's body.
