  1. Anyway, heres a drink to a more sturdy VE-1 be it a 1/48 or a 1/60 v.2. Kompai! (gulps down some single malt Highland Park 15 year).

Actually, the drinking and the kampai-ng comes only after you've received the much-lauded Yamato VFs for the first time, because it didn't performed completely as promised. :: points at wicked ace::  But prior to that, many had hoped sincerely. I don't hope anymore. I expect it to be either batshit successful or crash and burn.

  2. That's what I like about the concept of these suits - the suits in Guyvey, EXO Man O WAR, etc... share it - life's a bitch but the wearer gets all the TLC. And the beauty of it is they don't even need to go into explaining how it all work.

  3. Tightly secured fighter mode alone should be a no-brainer for Yamato. I'm more concerned with whether the whole thing will stay together tight in fighter mode with the FPs. The 1/48 VF1 is tight in the fighter mode alone - but add the FPs, the arms don't secure so well and they droop.

Droopy arms holding a firing gunpod on fighter mode will result in the pilot shooting himself in the arse. In Pineapple Salad, this is how Roy Focker died.

  4. Here's one for BoB:

Narrator: A new valkyrie built by my company leaves somewhere and gets transformed. The shoulder locks up. The shoulder shatters and breaks with little bits everywhere. Now, should we initiate a recall? Take the number of valkyries in the field, A, multiply by the probable rate of failure, B, multiply by the average out-of-court settlement, C. A times B times C equals X. If X is less than the cost of a recall, we don't do one.

Business woman on plane: Are there a lot of these kinds of breakages?

    Narrator: You wouldn't believe.

Business woman on plane: Which toy company do you work for?

    Narrator: A major one.

  5. Just got word that HotToys are making IronMan.

FROM THE HOT TOYS NEWSLETTER 4/29/08

Just wondering if you like the MAN who made with IRON…… - Before the Dark Knight arrives, another Marvel Hero - the IRON MAN will hit the theatres this week, and our Hot Toys team is ready to watch the first showing together. Didn’t we tell you how much we love movies? Here is the much-anticipated news you are looking for: To celebrate the debut of Iron Man, Hot Toys has been granted the license of this super hero and our Creative Team has started to work on the MMS series. Meanwhile, let’s buy the ticket online

  6. I haven't been reading much lately, but I was planning on getting an SV-51. However has anyone reported that yamato has fixed the problem with the armament on the wings?

It's unfixable. The only way is to fix a pose, leave it be and pray your airconditioning at low doesn't blow them off. :D

  7. Actually, the profile is the same no matter if it's spinning left (the Dancer) or right (Rei) - that's why you get different answers from people looking at the same thing. People who see it rotating one direction but see it change direction once they concentrate means that the dormant part of their brain taking control. This is a simple but effective test to find out whether you are right or left brain dominant by nature - It's by no means that you'll remain right or left brain dominant forever. With some training, you'll see them rotating both directions. It really depends on where you look first.

  8. Your getting the SS Goku? But without the code you can't right? I do want SS Goku more than the non SS.

You can. In fact, you can buy up to 2 pieces of SS Goku. Just preorder him from Sideshow now, wait and hold on to your preorder until it comes out

I did the same thing with the Comic Symbiote Spidey, without the need to send in my regular comic Spidey's proof of purchase voucher (code).

This has got to do with Sideshow and some other online retailers bringing Medicom stuff and their "so-called" exclusive to the US. It's the only way to get them close to retail price, because after they sold out the ebay prices will be very expensive.
