  1. HLJ is saying because I have other items on backorder is the reason I did not get the VF-25 that was order on August 8th.

Yet, the only thing that was ordered was the single model without anything else????

Sound familiar. If you cancel the order like they direct you to according their guidance then their system reallot the available item to other customers. You end up with nothing. In some cases you can't even re-order the other items which where on hold before because the shopping cart don't list discontinued items.

  2. HWJapan. This is the former Aoshima BK Hobby Supermarket online store. You have to agree that no one will repeat the name Aoshima BK Hobby Supermarket online store twice. So one of their new webshops was renamed into HWJapan since the beginning of this year. HWJapan has the same shipping prices like HLJ. The only difference between both online shops they send your items the same day or next day when payment arrives. Your stuff doesn't come in plastic wrapper and aircushions therefore rumpled newspapers. Their shop is still a bit messy with the 1000 of categories and different sub categories. But for a good price and service I'm willing to search a bit longer.

And geuss what HWJapan also don't have the VF-25F listed in their Webshop anymore. I pre-ordered mine last month as soon it was listed and still haven't received a shipping or payment notification. It was listed again only for a few hours this Monday.

Can't recommend Anime-Exports. They messed up a lot of things with my 1st order and caused me even more headache.

  3. That little egg figure reminds me of an old Sega game hero OPA-OPA. Is that what this is?

That's right. It's Opa Opa from Fantasy Zone.

TSP, I'm having second thoughts about making eggs this weekend for breakfast! - MT

 You know that instant fried chickens are good.

that looks cool. from what series is it from and where to get the kit?

also, where to get this munchkin?

Thanks. The Opa Opa is self made .The Antares-XX will be a scratch build too. °__°; Well as soon I have the VF-171 finished. It's from the Dreamcast game Border Down. One of my favorite schmup games and also one of the last official games for this system.

    ...and where's the front end?

<_< You know where. There where you won't expect boosters nozzles...left ->front.

@wm cheng Hope you get a spare canopy soon. But even without canopy it looks great. Very beautiful build.

  4. But.

I think I'll try to improve at least the big upper teeth. By default I'd probably try to use a tiny bit of Aves, assuming it will stick. (I'll scrape off the paint... it is not a hard area to repaint, but more difficult to drill...)

As for CA, I do have a bottle of Zap-a-gap ... do you have any other suggestions for a brand that is good?

Don't know what is available in the US. I live in Germany so most of the wonderstuff you can revert to isn't available or even known here. Same also on local product I use. Some of them don't even get exported outside the EU. But from what I Google upon Zap-O-Gap (Cool name but seems to cost me a kidney here  ) it should do the job. Try it on a piece of sprue. If it feels pointy enough after curing then I guess it will work too. Otherwise if it doesn't really bothers you since the head is shown in macro zoomed on the pictures than just leave things as they are. It all depends on what quiets your mind.

Edit: How could I forget adding pictures full of cuteness to this post?

    th_OpaOpa25.jpg th_OpaOpa26.jpg

Finished! Now up to the next ShmUp-O-Zapper. th_M-39.jpg But without the Poseidon booster unit.

  5. Looks great. Changing the gab after painting is a bit of troublesome. If it weren't painted yet I would recommend to grind out the denture area. Make pivot tooths out of left over Polystyrene runners and stick them into a with Milliput sculpted teethridge.

The only idea I have to extend teeth on already painted ones is by using viscous CA Glue. You can use a tooth pick to put a small drop of ca glue on top of the teeth.

  6. Bandai has updated their page for the Platz Sylpheed with a pic! Will we see the light before the end of the year?

Couldn't find anything besides Platz's announcement that the kits will be out November this year. And that both kits are プラモデル(Plamodel)

On which Bandai site did you saw this?

  7. WTF! Already listed on backorder and no shipping notice, so much for pre-ordering the beginning of August.

One of the reasons why I don't order from HLJ any more. Nearly every third pre-order item got canceled afterward. I end up hunting for it at other online stores or Evilbay. But this only apply to limited 1 time run products or printed matter with goodies.

A good thing that Bandai stuff don't get discontinued so fast especially cash cows like this kit.

  8. ah, thanks! haven't explored that street yet. over several trips to HK i've found very few shops selling scifi kits aside from gundam. only a couple had macross (very few items at that), and have yet to find one carrying MaK.

When I travelled to HK I was a bit disappointed about the lack of jap. Sci-Fi kits besides Gundam and PVC figures. But I found some places which are very interesting for modelers. These two carried Maschinen Krieger. Don't know if they still have some.

"Toyzone 16" in Causeway bay Bldg 3, Sugar Street, Causeway Bay HK. Opened from 12:00h-21:00h. Its located on the 16th floor. There are only 2 shops on this floor. The one to the left sells toys(Super Robo,Kaiju) the one on the right side sells model kits and Kaiju toys. It's listed in Pos.5 of Graham's shop list but without name and business hours.

"Concorde Hobby Shop" Lai Chi Kok Rd. 331, Lai Chi kok, Kowloon. A model shop. Or to be precise. One without toys and PVC figures. Only recommend this if you stay a bit longer and have some time to explore HK. It's located quite remote far from anything interesting. Regular shop times so its closed by night. Just look for this store

There's also a small but good sorted model shop in Sino Centre on the 10th floor. 1st shop to the right.

On the opposite of the CTMA main entrance is a Gundam gallery (G-System stuff) located on the 3rd floor. Small shop that also carry modeling books. If I remember correctly I saw some Makoto Kobayashi and Kow Yokoyama kits there.

    :D Happy hunting.

  9. Where would one be able to order?

That's something I would also like to know. For the people living in the EU there is only Ebay or wait till the game is available and order it thru an import games store or privat seller from asia. THANK YOU SONY UK/SCEE!!!

Will the game be playable for non-Japanese speakers?

There's always StategyWiki if it comes to understanding jap games.

  10. Does anybody know if the official release date is still set for 25th September?

    Graham

Not sure anymore. Only Amazon.jp still has it dated on 25th Sept. I would say that Happinet is a more reliable source since this is Bandai's own web shop. Bandai Hobby net has the Valkyrie Kit listed in their September release schedule with a notice that the release date will be determined till Sept. 5th.

All the other have some when in September. But they all seem to have the 30% discount on this item. ^_^

    Happinet

    Amazon

    AmiAmi

  11. hmmm...interesting...will wait reviews, hahaha

It will be discontinued till then    I say pre-order while you still gets a discount on sales price...

Too bad HWJ already removed the VF-25 from their shop list or otherwise I would have added another kit.

Oh well, Ozma's Messiah and/or the armored pack versions are good opportunities to get more VF-25 kits.

Hopefully they don't cancel these like they did last year with the Engage Planet Kissdum NES-1 Fighter.
