New colorful pictures of the Alter Mave Yukikaze and Flipknight system.
-
when I read "yellow" I was thinking about bright yellow.
this yellow is actually really awesome,
Yellow/Aquila is the name of a fictional Erusean aggressor squadron from Ace Combat 04.
Actually I like the idea of a gray underside color. The yollow color wouldn't blend well with the spliter camo in Battroid form.
BTW if you're looking for a name for your Excalibur how about "Aquila 19"

What the ... I definitely need a few of these.
I've started building an egg plane VF-25 based on their F-18 kit a few days ago. Actually wanted to do a VF-4 by using a SR-71 egg plane as base kit but those cost a fortune on *insert famous I-Net auction service*.

And another load of pictures of Wave's VF-1S and VF-1J.

This must be the third thread about Wave's 1/100 scale VF-1 kits.

There seems to be another VF-171 kit around that actually has some surface details
That's the TAYLAND 1/72 kit Save mentioned in his first post.

I'm changing my ISP at the moment and can't get online for a while which also means no update in the next weeks too.
This is the current status on the build. I added the TARPS module, guns, and few small details before I got distracted by the MAXL Thunderbolt. I spent two days on this kit and have to admid that the MAXL is actually the best kit from this series so far. There's not much modification needed to make this beauty look like a display model.
I've started with the launch arm today but didn't took pictures of it. Will add some as soon as Internet is available again.
Thanks for watching.
1/72 I hope?Yep, 1/72.

Thank you all for the kind words.
Looking good, sometimes it pays to walk away for a bit.I've not touched my work now for several months, although I have moved house and started a new job so have not had time to unpack or work on anything, but I have several ideas running round for when I do recomence work. Had I just continued I would have not have though up a couple of them.
Sounds familiar. But sometimes it can also have a contrary effect. In my case it mostly ends as dust collectors (Macross City on Protoculture relict ) or a pile of scrap.
Always nice to see how some things encourage others to build more. Especially 144 scale Macross model building.hmm ... maybe I do something like that too, looks awesomeBuild a pair of ankle guards for covering up the sloppy joint between legs and nozzles/feet parts.

It's been a while since the last update. Not being happy whith what I did on this kit I put this project on hold untill 2 days ago. I was working on the Siren and strangly felt a necessity to finish this kit. And so I started rasping some parts and ended up with building a lot more than expected. Changes where made to radome and underside fuselage Added Oh and I also made a plain base for the RVF-171.
New WIP pictures.
Thanks for watching.

WTF!!! SRP of 2400Yen. That's way too much for a lightly improved version of the old Bandai kit. Especially if you need to vacuum form a new canopy, sharpen the edges of all the wings, air intakes and thruster nozzles.

I love macross mechas in 1/72. I am in for a Regult 2.0 if it ever release. John I'd come into a pic of a Cat'sEye selling at the recent Wonder Festival in Japan. It wasn't very nice. I believe you can do a better job .
It is 1/144 scale and therefor the detailing is good.

Just realized that it was posted on 2007. being 2009, by now we should see a full squadron of VF-4's; so what happened?
Mine is still somewhere between unfinished and never touched it since then.

That's because one of the mecha designers from Ace Combat Electrosphere was also involved in the design works of Yukikaze. Why does that look like something from Ace Combat 3: Electrosphere? The other Spartan. With opened hatches.

In fact the Engage Octaves are Valkyrie-II in disguise.

Prototype of the 1/48 kit at Shizuoka...
So it has moveable wings and exhaust...
It comes with rivet holes and a lot of fantasy pannel lines. Moe~~~ . Wanna skip this one too?
BTW the 1/72 kit also has movable nozzles.
-
TSP Did you use the F-18 tailplanes as the Canards ala F-15 S/MTD? Nice! Will you be modifying the exhaust nozzles as well?
Well as destroid already wrote. The exhaust nozzles in regular Electrosphere Fighters are like the ones we have nowadays. And the Super Flanker canards came with the kit. I remodeled the area for a smoother fillet between fuselage and canards. The F-15S/+ canards are made or styrene sheet. For this one I have build a pair of vectoring nozzles.

Thanks guys!
Very Very nice..What kit and what have you done to it??It's a Nichimo 1/200 scale MBR-07-MKII Destroid Spartan. Here is a link to the main page for some reference And let's say I changed a few things.I posted a comparison picture two pages back. The green one was only put together without gluing. You can say it's what you see is what you get. Btw we have some very nice build Nichimo Spartans in this section of the forums.
TSP I love your work on the tiny scales! Did you ever finish that 1/72 Legios were you added all the F-15 parts? Thanks Berttt. I always try to challenge myself ...or just say I suck in out of box model building. The Armo-Fighter was finished back then. But after looking at those old blurry pictures I think I should take new ones. The Armo-Diver is stored in it's box. It was out of sight and therefor also out of mind. Thanks for the reminder need to finish this one and get rid of the box(Yay! More shelf space!).
