is disassembling an option and just flip it over?
Looking for my screwdriver (the tool, not the drink) now.

hmm.. haven't had any problems with my sets.. but damn that is kind of abnormal..you can't turn it at all to the other way.. sometimes it just needs a little force, but not too much.. I know mine was stiff as heck..
I used a considerable amount of force to try to turn it the correct direction.

Seeing those pictures makes me interested in this thing -- the articulation is impressive.

I don't know what you are talking a_boot.

Yes, the nostalgia is what many members like myself love about Macross collecting -- thanks for sharing the pictures of this model. I laugh at the inaccuracies of this kit's castings but still enjoy my memories of the same kind of kits I not-so-skillfully built many years ago.
-
Dude YOu dont know how true that statement is. I have been dreaming of a US take over for a long time. One day I have my american flag ready!!
I was actually just laughing at the statement; I have nothing against Canada since Canada has apologized numerous times for Bryan Adams. Maybe Canada should invade -- start with the Baldwin's house!
-
Well it's your own damn fault for living in Canada.

We need a picture of a Macross Valkyrie kicking that "younger sibling" thing over.
-
Well... Starscream really no match for Valkyrie!
Take that, Michael Bay!
. . . you fail me yet again, Starscream.

I was looking over a 1980s 1/100 Takatoku variable Valk in my collection the other day, and was struck by how similar the Variable Revoltech's fighter mode is to the old Takatoku
This is this thing's charm, to me. However, I would not want this if it was a larger, more expensive product.

Pikashoo is awesome! Just got my package from him. Great communication and awesome shipping times. All was packaged well and in great condition. AAA+++ Seller, Would definitely do business with him again!
I had the same great experience and definitely would do business with this member again.

I'd buy conversion kits for VF-1 Valkyries that are like this type of thing -- something different:

I don't trust that drunken Irish mall Santa. I want toys under the tree, so I am taking matters into my own hands! I think 1/60 scale VF-11B and DX Armored VF-25S will do nicely. Now that I have the toys coming, I just need a tree. . .

Anyone else get that good toy feeling when (re)opening the box to a 1/48 scale Valkyrie? It's been a while since I've played with one of these.
-
lol! maybe one of these days we can bribe you to go for it!! Amazing collection Kicker!!
I just had to pull one of my 1/48 scale Valkyries out of the box.
-
The VF-11 and red VF-1A are my favorites. Nice work!
-
Is a 1/48 worth it?
I may be alone on these forums by stating that the 1/48 scale VF-1 Valkyrie is worth it. Although, I am not sure if these can be posed well.
edit: I believe there is a member from Australia who might be able to pose these.

Thanks,
I have never really gotten to use Tamiya much. I think mainly due to most of my early modeling being historical aircraft and local availability.
One of these days I may give it a go though. I have a 1/72 VE-1 that I still need to get started on, maybe I will have to pick up some Tamiyas.
My biggest gripe is that I've had lousy luck with Testor's brand Model Master sprays clogging up and/or having tooth problems resulting in uneven spray.
I have never had an issue with Tamiya spray paints, and the tooth seems to provide a finer spray than the Testor's stuff. There are other brands other members may like better than Tamiya; I started using it due to local availability.
BTW, please post pics of what you are working on.

I believe brushing or spraying on some Future will hide the tape marks. Make sure to apply a flat clear to take away the gloss. Next time, I suggest painting all the details before applying the decals and clear coat. Your pictures with the masking tape and decals applied made me nervous!

Zeta is a lot bigger.

I didn't know the RX-78 was that close to the size of the VF-1 Valkyrie. Other Gundams tower over the VF-1.
-
I've got a huge stash of 1/72 F-14 markings
You aren't the only one.

Thanks for the tip! I didn't want to take this thing apart right away.
