  1. I already made the 1:60 laser canon retractable. Your idea would certainly be great for the 1:72 version! thank you !
  2. Hi Jasonc, I really like the proportions of this 1/72 kit but I don't own one. I was greatly inspired by its curves. How long is this kit from nose to tail, and how much smaller did you think it should have been?
  3. For the moment I got these moving parts: -laser canon slides in and out with a little tab to pull it out -launching arm that can be deployed to mimic the attachment to the Starwing wing I still can't decide about the land-launching trap (bottom of the drone) if it should open / close or only panel lined. I can use this trap and make a Yamato compatible attachment stand from this hole or even a launching arm style display stand, but for this later addon I lack imagination. The general shape is finalized now, there are many steps left: -adding the details for the drone internal camera -finish the moving parts and mechanisms (deciding about the trap) -surface subdividing and smoothing on the main body -Yamato compatible stand -etc a few pics of the parts on the Shapeways thickness validation interface, this interface gives a good idea of the finish printed part.
  4. I began to upload test parts on Shapeways and it seems that the whole Fighter Drone won't be other 80 USD to be printed in White Strong and Flexible. I am encountering several challenges mostly because of moving parts, I don't think they would be doable on the 1/72 model, I am thinking of the retractable laser canon by exemple. Anyway I will post some pics when I can
  5. Thanks everyone! I will do my best to make it as cheap as shapeways allows it. If it still not doable I can try to contact a skilled gentleman who could make resin molds of them and at last resort I can email the model to Arcadia
  6. The question is how small/big are the HM Missiles stored into the X-9
  7. I made a few tests on shapeways and the machine volume would determine the cost I think. Once I finish all the parts I would try to optimize and compact at the maximum the print volume. I hope it would be below 150 usd.
  8. Oh! Really love the colors! What about the S?!
  9. I kind of gave up on finding an handy curve addon for sketchup, so for the moment, I will take full credit of the congratulations for the handcraft! This is going to be multiple parts, using as much as possible the 3D printing capabilities to not have the model cut in halves but cut where the pieces change color and also by providing easier shapes to sand (also making possible slimmer pieces than what the 3d printer can output by sanding). The model will hopefully have retractable laser canon, rotating attaching arm and opening land launching trap (don't know yet, but I feel I can take the X-9 launching booster and make it adaptable to the fighter drone) These are the goals, I will do my best to reach them
  10. Hi! It is still in progress, in fact there is a lot of errors with the line art, the front view is totally flawed for instance. The missile bay, as everyone knows, the booster launcher line also! Now I am quiet satisfied with what I got in 2D drawings. But there are still a few errors that would have to be corrected later when I will design it in 3D.
  11. Thank you! Kurisama! GU-11, yes it is Sketchup
  12. a few pics of the work in progress, total length is 20 cm (1/60):
  13. Please, don't mistake Arcadia for Bandai! The 3 months pre-oder window is the reason why I will support Arcadia and not Bandai, even if the price is higher
  14. Larger is not an issue with 3D printing, except for the price. Going smaller may require additional work to simplify the model.
  15. 1/72 should be no problem to adapt once the 1/60 is completed of course
  16. This is the Ghost X-9 from Macross+ series. See below the Master in final primer layer. The production is finished. Nothing in stock. I still have the master and I don't plan to recast it again. If you may be interested to buy it, feel free to contact me. Macross Plus 5 by Wm K, sur Flickr This is the X9 Ghost Master in the final preparation stage: Latest update: The first unit from the production came out nicely:
  17. Being at the "fixing design" stage with the X-9 for its 3D model, I can tell now that X-9 and Frontiers QF-4000 seem similar but overall are very different: almost like a VF-0 seems to be a larger VF-1, but the proportions and details are slightly changed
  18. The guy at Coastal Kits was very nice about the custom order and the plates come out with a nice quality, it is quiet rigid plastic rubber, but still I could cut the corners with large scissors. I am thinking of gatherring some High-Res pictures to make the SDFM deck or a Frontier deck. But they already got so much good looking prints already I decided to get a few of these. Indeed, I purchased long ago a few figurines but they were unpainted, now I should really consider these, thanks for the link
  19. I just received customized display plates from Coastal Kits, UK and I have to admit, they are really nice addition to the detolfs! The customization concerned the scale 1:60 down from 1:48 and also the size to fit the detolf shelves.
  20. Really nice works milkautico and ahab!
  21. I've almost finished a simple version of it, I would like to have a look at yours too! In the mean time I began studying the X-9 and couldn't find a proper top view of the ghost, so I had to make one from the 3/4 top view. From the first comparison peaks, I told myself that this thing is big! This is the draft printed to 1/60 scale (with the ghost being 14m long /60= 23.33cm)
  22. I am quite excited by this lighter than the anime color for the 0A, it means that the 0S will match together better than the older Yamato version
