Just so you know, guys, UV filters provide some protection against fading, but light damage still happens. It's mostly a case of light intensity and duration, which is measured in lux/1 lumen per square meter. Light damage is cumulative and irreversible.
This sort of stuff is my job, so more fyi reading http://www.conservationphysics.org/fading/light_i.php

The Galaxy is a very big place and humanity is coming from "the outskirts" as it were. It is possible that the Megaroad 01 encountered the SA or an SA, Zentradi battle. There has never been a reason to include the SA in a Macross story so where they are and what they are doing other than fighting Zentradi somewhere in the galaxy is all we've been given so far.
See that's interesting to me, because the way the SA was mentioned in SDF Macross by Exsedol always had me thinking that there'd be more Zentradi/SA battles to come in subsequent series.
I mean, I guess we sort of got something sorta like that, but mecha music, yeah, no, no thank you.

Sure. Here you go. Cavalier with the side panels removed and a piece of super/strike pack for reference.
-
It's not, it's a different shade of gray/blue. I can take some pics later on if need be.
-
It doesn't help that they didn't include a sticker placement sheet with the valk!
-
Did anyone who ordered the super/strike parts recently get dark blue optional parts?
I recently got a set from HKCollectibles and they came with dark blue optional parts. The parts I got in the initial run of super/strike parts were DYRL off-white.
If these are the *missing* Cavaliers optional parts, they sure look great in my Cavalier VF-1A.

Am I the only person who envisions this turning out like Robot Jox?
-
So, when do we normally get announcements on what's planned for 2013? Wonderfest?
-
I ordered Kurisama's weapon's hard points off shapeways not too long ago and I couldn't resist mounting my VF-4 with a full weapons payload. Not sure if the crazy glue will hold long-term, but it seems to be ok for now.
By the way, testors gray primer acryl paint seems to match the rest of the plastic pretty well.
Attack!!!

Couldn't you just measure the yamato 1/3000 model with the guns down and then multiply based on the scale?
-
I don't suppose that the left hip joint is intact on your broken bartley figure?
-
Man, you guys make me want to paint this thing up so bad. I'm just paranoid about messing up what is basically a $300 model.
-
Seems perfect with this on the stereo:
-
It's a spambot that somehow got through the cracks. Annoying though.
-
Beautiful.

I just bought some of Kurisama's missile attachment points from shapeways. I'll paint them and break out the testors glue at some point in the near future.
-
I picked up a brand new CM Bartley the other day and it basically fell apart right out of the box. The figure's left leg hip joint was disintegrated beyond my ability to repair.

If anyone is feeling like they want to get rid of their CM Bartley Ride Armor for a decent price, or if they have a damaged one, but an intact figure they'd be willing to sell, I'd appreciate it. I'm sort of loathe to pay ebay prices, since I pretty much just bought one, and now I need another...ugh.
Thanks!

I'm guessing that it's moreso one of those "tolerated" fan films, much like you see with Lucasfilm and Star Trek.
-
Looks like some sort of laminate that was on the metal. Mold release agent?
-
That looks really awesome Valid, and I'd definitely pick a sheet up. However, one note: if you're going for replica VF-84 tail markings, the Jolly Rogers used a skull and crossbones.

No, they just didn't buy the FB2012 license for that scheme. Doesn't mean Yamato won't in the future.
-
I seem to remember something like that happening when Roy put the gunpod over his shoulder in Episode 2.
-
Wow. Awesome!
What color/brand paint did you use the match the rest of it?
-
I read about using what's called a chalk wash (pastel chalk dust + water + drop of dishwashing liquid). Have you ever tried that method on any of the yamato valks?

I preordered this because I'd much rather play as Cyborg Ninja than Raiden.
