  1. I paid and just asked does this mean I'm getting a stand.

I'm seeing a bunch of different extra shipping fee quotes. Informal survey. Let's compare orders.

    Mine

    1x VF-1S without Stand

$15+change for Sal Registered to the US.

    Extra Charge $6.

That's about the same cost for me, though I ordered early enough that I'm supposed to get the stand. (I probably won't end up with a stand)

  2. Nothing gets the glue off once its set and the tapes gone flakey. Apart from mechanical abrasion. Had dome on a window frame and no solvent I tired would remove it so have to buff it off with a rubber wheel in a drill.

I gotta say it, but all you folks who use tamiya tape to protect their Valk canopies should remember that Tamiya tape is also making tape and will eventually leave the same discolored residue.

  3. Alright, thanks everyone for all the advice. After spending an eternity on hold, I finally got in touch with the Disputes Office. After I re-explained everything, they released the funds back into my account.

I knew the MW community wouldn't let me down! Thanks again!

  4. I did have a copy and provided links to both paypal transactions, AND the ebay sale. I expressly pointed out that the seller was doubling up on the tracking number from the second sale as proof of delivery for the first sale. I figure the paypal claims person didn't bother to read the text, saw the tracking number with a confirmed delivery (for the second sale), and closed the case.

Nothing else I can do about it except stew now.

  5. Unfortunately, Paypal did what I feared they would -- despite describing the issue in just as much detail as I did here, they saw the doubled up tracking number and ruled against me in the dispute. Failure...

  6. I'm hoping the MW community can give me some guidance on a paypal dispute --

I bought two items from the same person (didn't realize it at the time), one from a webstore on 2 March and one via ebay on 15 March.

The first item, bought on 2 March, never arrived, but the 15 March item did arrive.

Now it's mid-April so I opened up a Paypal dispute on the first item, the one from 2 March.

The seller is claiming I received the 2 March item and posted the tracking number from the 15 March item as proof of delivery. Now, I checked my ebay auction tracking number, and it's clear that he's using the second item's tracking number. Unfortunately, someone actually has to do some double checking in order to see that the tracking number he's using is misleading.

Since my only other option at this point is to bump this to a full dispute, is there anything else I can do to help paypal see that the seller is using the second item's tracking number?

My experience is that their dispute's are pretty much just rubber stamped, so I'm anticipating that they'll see the tracking number and deny my claim.

    Any ideas? Thanks!

  7. It's pretty difficult to enforce a lawsuit across country lines...unless you want to invest a lot of resources in lawyers. It'd probably cost more than HG would stand to gain. The simplest answer is that Toynami bought a bunch of the SD VF1s and shipped 'em over.

  8. I find it kind of telling that Takara keeps appending letters to MP-11 every time they release a new seeker variant, where as every other post MP10 repaint has gotten a unique number. they're basically admitting that yes, these are just easy cash-ins and shouldn't be counted as part of the ongoing masterpiece line.

    Same thing with MP12.

  9. Those acrylics look similar to liquitex brand paints. If that's true, then the consistency will be too thick for model painting.
