I can tell you that swap magic, in my experience, doesn't work for all games so I don't recommend it. For example the ACE games. I just bought a Japanese console and this game works fine. Not sure you need a translation guide since the menus are all in English unless you want a dialog translation.

i wouldn't be worried. i have a slim ps3 and the import games that i have, though limited, work just fine. if it makes you feel any better, i preordered the limited edition of the game and have zero worries of it not working.

i hope there's branching story elements where your actions determine who you end up with. i can only hope. either way, i know i'll enjoy it.

considering sony's decision to remove backwards compatibility from the ps3 slim, i'm betting they won't have it all together with the ps4. plus, all of the articles i can find suggest that it won't be able to play ps3 games. so, if you want to play macross 30, your best bet is to get a ps3 now if you don't already have one.

the game is looking great visually. i hope that artdink will finally nail the gunpod sound effect though. it seems the only game in macross history that nailed it was the ps2 game from sega.
