  1. I agree about the last Camaro/Firebird looked like crap. I never liked it at all. The performance of the LS-1 6-speed was awesome but I don't get why they kept the same ugly, wedge shape for so many years. Is it that big of a deal to shape a decent looking car? For GM, I guess so.

  2. freakin sweet vf-0d - the rest, too. I just want to kick Yamato in the nutz for screwing up the Mac0 valks and not delivering. If there was a transforming model like that, I would get it even though I am not a modeler.

  3. Yeah, but GM's not exactly known for making decisions that make sense these days, are they?

Well, I do like the Solstice/Sky and a 500hp Vette is cool. The Cobalt is also a decent looking cheap car. Here and there they seem to do something right. It would be nice to see more vehicles I would actually consider buying, though. Even if they made a cool Camaro, I wouldn't be able to buy it. I need 4 doors for the kids and all. They need to recognize that people want RWD vehicles that aren't ass looking like Cadi's.

  4. Any hint of when or even if General Motors plans on bringing back the Camaro or Firebird? Just curious.

I keep hearing talk of the comeback in a few years but never really seen anything. With the success of the new Mustang, it would seem illogical for GM not to respond much like the did in the 60's.

  5. That sucks. I'm always scared that is going to happen to one of my vf11bs. I believe someone wrote up a pretty good repair article a while back. If you can't find it, I would just take it apart and try your own fix.

  6. Yamato seems very tight lipped about their biz these days so I doubt these are anything more than predictions based on what Yamato has done in the past. It wouldn't suprise me if Yamato did all those things but I doubt the low viz reissue and gbp bundle.

The low viz was a special limited production. I don't know what licensing was involved but I would think it would be tricky to do again. Plus that another production run cheapens the 'limited' status of the first - *cough* Toynami *cough*

A gpb bundled with a 1/48 would be ultra expensive. It would seem that most people that are buying the gpb would already own a 1/48. Hardcore collectors would like to see a bundle but there are not many of them anymore.

  7. I just don't see how that Killzone was any type of gameplay. I might believed it wasn't rendered but it still seems like some kind of smoke and mirrors. I mean, PC games don't even look like that with top of the line specs that costs $2k+. It would seem odd that Sony can top that with a $300 machine. Perhaps, they are using PS3 graphics but without anything like AI to bog the processor down. If gameplay can be anything close to that, I will buy a PS3 for every room in my house. Well, maybe not but at least one.

  8. Well, I pretty much hate Microsoft. By trade, I am a programmer and end up using a lot of their products by default everyday. I could go on and on with the things their products do that tick me off. I don't really like Sony either but that is a different story.

Either way, if there are awesome games for the 360 or PS3, that is all that matters for me. From what I've seen, the 360 doesn't look leaps and bounds better than the current XBox. I like the idea of a multimedia hub but don't know if I really would use it like that. The PS3 looks more next gen and more focused on games. But you really don't know how anything is going to sort out until you can actually see real games on one.

  9. For console titles, they have to pay a hefty amount to the console makers for each game sold. This is how the console makers make money. They sell the systems at a loss just to get their product out there, then make up the money on software. It's the same as printers and ink as well as a lot of mechanical products and parts.

For PC games, I think it is mainly the number of games you expect to sell and the investment into the game. However, I still wonder why blockbuster games like Doom3 and HL2 are more expensive than most other games when you know they are going to sell tons. Either way, I guess it comes down to people trying to get paid.

Piracy also hurts game makers. I heard a story about Tribes where there was more people playing the game online than copies sold. If games were cheaper, would fewer people download? I'm not sure about that.

  10. Personally, I don't like CG animation that tries to look too realistic. Flaws like stiff movements become much more obvious. I agree that some of Applessed animation could of been better but overall I thought it looked awesome - especially the action scenes. The storyline was pretty flat but that is more of the norm these days.

  11. Monster has been running for some time now and is really good. Bleach is pretty good as well with decent humor and action. The new series Speed Grapher is looking decent so far as well as Aquarion.

I thought Samurai Shamploo was pretty good. Some episodes were pretty weird and the overall story was kinda lame but it had style. Mai Hime was pretty good until the end where it sucked soo bad.

I recently got into watching Nurato. It took a while to watch 100 and some episodes to catch up but it goes by fast when you fast forward through all the repeated flashbacks.

  12. I'm not sure that is a good idea. I remember my Dad saved some old diecast cars for my brother and I. We didn't value them at all since they were just given to us and we smashed them up. We smashed up all our toys, really. That's what boys do.

I would hate to give my boys some nice valkyries and watch them throw them into walls and such. I might give my two boys, or my girl, part of my collection someday but it won't be anything nice - like Toynami super poseables or some Gundam stuff. If they are careful with that stuff, I might let them play with some Bandai's. I wish I bought a few extra 1/55's when they were so cheap for such an occasion.

  13. That is one hell of a collection, but if I had a room like that, the only way I would post pics of it would be if my wife and kids were standing dead center to prove that I had actually kissed a girl once or twice.

But you know if he had that idea, it would probably be a cardboard cutout of Princess Leia and r2d2 or something.

  14. When searching, make sure you change the "Search posts from.." from "30 days ago and..." to "Any date".

Hopefully that'll bring up some more results...

or a year or so ago when this all started.

  15. My wife lets me spend money on toys, games, etc. because she spends money on her own junk. She doesn't really have any interest in any of my stuff but is glad that it makes me happy. I was worried that I would be cut off after having kids but that's not the case. However, they are only 1 now and share one bedroom. If they want separate bedrooms when they get older, I will no longer have space for me collection. I doubt my wife will be as supportive if they living room or bedroom is filled with robot toys. :( I will probably have to get one of those storage sheds and setup shop in the backyard.

Graham, lol you sound like a buddy of mine at work. His house is full of toys and his wife gives him a hard time about it. His office is full of more toys that she doesn't know about.
