  1. Thanks for the input guys! but as I said, I have to follow something and there is a lot of anime magic on this model. Anyways, I'm not looking to create the most accurate 3d model of the YF-21, but to create a nice piece of CG art.

Here's what the arms look like. I added a few robot-like parts to fill in the holes. I also modeled the legs, but have no render of them.

And here's what it looks like with everything on.

I'm basically done with the model. On to texturing now...., this might take a while :)

  2. Dude wat?

The VF-19's were all over 200$, and they didn't include fast packs.

This new mold has additional parts. It's going to be no less than 250$

    Permitting a miracle.

I agree. Considering that this is a new mold and assuming Arcadia will use the same material quality that the vf-19s, we have to set a ground of around $230 (same as the new vf-19s) Add fast packs and the additional parts and missiles, I'll say between $250 and $300.

Though, I really hope I'm wrong

  3. I understand you want a VF-11C but I can't see why they would ever bother releasing one again. They languished on shelves as it was for years. They aren't sellers at all, and with the way prices are going they aren't going to get cheaper.

I agree. Now, if they make the armored version, that's an instant buy for me

  4. Hy guys, thanks for the comments.

I know how it is to have years pass in between working on hobby projects :) Nice work, as always.

I don't have a better version of picture you posted, but I do know it is the schematic for the Yamato 1/60 scale transforming toy the sold just a year or two back.

Thanks! I guess that image will have to do for now.

Nice job, you missed the red sensor behind the head laser i believe, i have encircled the area where it looks a bit different comparing with and

Keep it up, looking forward seeing you finish this beauty

Thanks for the feedback! The red sensor is actually there, but I forgot the put a glass material to it.

And for the other part, I'm using a different blueprint, in mine that part is not flat.

Not sure which one is accurate, but I have to follow something :)

  5. That brings a question. What you rather have? a perfect transformation toy but not 100% anime accurate? or an anime accurate toy with swapable parts?

A YF-21 with swapable accurate legs comes to mind....

  6. So I've been looking for some references to model the arms and legs and this is the best that I could find

Anyone seen this before? or has a higher resolution image?

  7. Well, it's been almost a year, but I finally had some time to make some progress with this. I'm basically done with it, except for arms and legs, that's next.

  8. the article concerning the arcadia version says they will have actual prototype pics in the next issue which will clarify what it is, so we will have to wait until then.

Anyone knows when is that exactly?

  9. I'll get one if I can, I missed the first run, so I want one. 21,000 yen seems steep compared to other Bandai releases, but is what any Yamato 19 toy cost, I would be happy to pay that for a 27 renewal with super pack bundle. I do agree though, they could offer a cheaper one without the super packs
