  1. I see.

So the next valkyries with the existing molds could be RVF-25 and RVF-171 and maybe YF-24 and YF-25?

I can't recall the RVF-25 CF, but there are 2 RVF-171, the CF and Lucca's RVF-171 EX. So there you have 2. Plus the YF-25. I don't think will see a YF-24 any time soon.

Definitely, the vf-25 mold has become to Bandai what the vf-1 mold for Yamato/Arcadia. They can keep on releasing new schemes and re-releases that we will keep on buying them.

  2. "rare item"? and the vf-9 and vf-14 are out of the question...., my wild guess, Macross Plus ghost x-9 or Mylene's VF-11 Kai. Or maybe the VF-17 Kai. Kinda hopping I'm wrong though, would love to see a vf-11c armored

  3. These are my guesses so far for the molds Arcadia got from Yamato

    1-VF-1

    2-VF-19

    3-VF-17

    4-VF-4

    5-Yf-21/Vf-22

    6-VF-11

    7-

I'm stumped on the last one. I doubt it's the VF-0 as the rumors of a new mold being created for that valk. I'd also be surprised if it's the sv-51.

Sucks about the VF-2SS. Honestly thought we were close to getting it after the Vf-4 came out.

Did I understood wrong or is It 7 molds plus the vf-1? In that case you are actually missing 2.

  4. Comparison. Could they be related designed by the same family of engineers? Folding wings, same hair piece and colours.

I was going to say that. The are similar in design and even have similar colors.

I'll go for the vf-27. Is a newer toy with lots of gimmicks, plus that price for a Nora is just too much. If you are willing to spend $400+ on a toy, wait some time and preorder the new yf-19 and you'll provably be much happier than with an old Nora sv-51.

  5. Yes, it's still obviously the resin prototype, not a test shot, so expected to be gappy.

    Graham

Several tweets clarify that the gaps are from handling the prototype so much.

Mr K's Twitter also had someone asking "please price the YF-19 less than 40,000Y!", to which Mr K responded "it's not that much" .... i should hope so too... a lot less please!

Then he says the price will be revealed in a hobby magazine on the 25th, so not much longer to wait!

Thanks for clarifying that Guys! I was sure it was because of that.

  6. This must be the lull between storms, VF-25a hits Oct, RVF super parts hit Nov, and

    29plus hits Dec.

Perhaps the next announcement will come soon?

    End of the month?

I think last years announcements for this year (RVF-25 renewal, VF25G renewal, VF27 "renewal" and monster Vajra) where announced in the Tamashii Nations event (not entirely sure though). This year is held from Nov 1st to Nov 3rd. So I expect Bandai's announcements (if any) for about that date

  7. Great review Jenius, as always.

So I finally got mine. I'm very happy with it I must say and I'm glad I got it. That being said, I don't know if I would have got it if I had the v1. I actually got if because of that, I missed the first run of 27's.

I would have liked a non super pack bundle, to save some 50 bucks, the 27 in my opinion is already a super valk, no need for an extra super pack.

Finally, I'm a bit disappointed with the articulated hands, considering what Bandai achieved with the latest Gundam 1/100 MG kits and their hands. A $60 sinanju kit has full articulated hands with independent fingers and this $250 toy doesn't.

  8. Thanks again guys, glad you like it!

Great stuff, I would like to add a tiny critique if you don't mind. The pentagon shaped areas should be transparent as the bubble canopy. If you have modeled the inside of the cockpit just as Dan's VF-1 that would be awesome.

Thanks Bowman, It is transparent, it's the same material as the bubble actually, but I haven't modeled the cockpit..., yet, and that's why it shows as black. I actually have not planed to do it, it's quite intricate. I might do a low poly version of it if it look too bad with nothing inside.

  9. Thanks Guys!

Texture work is off to a great start!

If you don't mind a little critique, the only thing that is bugging me is the bare metal showing through where the paint has worn. It isn't that it looks bad, but rather that it looks "wrong" for a futuristic aircraft, which I would not expect to be skinned in sheet metal. Even if it was metal, I would expect layers of anti-corrosion paint under the color before you ever got down to bare metal. However, I wouldn't expect much metal at all in the skin of the aircraft, but rather composite materials. This is already the case for current aircraft designs in production. For this, I would expect that most of the exterior is some type of overtechnology carbon composite that is super strong and lightweight, and does not look like bright polished aluminum. The look you have going is more appropriate for a weathered WW2 aircraft.

There's always room for improvement, critique is welcome and very much appreciated! I do agree with you, but I'm going to use the show to excuse myself. :p

There a scene at the end when Guld is chasing the ghost, where they go ultrasonic and the paint on the 21 goes off. You can see there as if it only has one layer of blue paint and a gray metal underneath, you can't clearly see if its a shiny aluminum like metal, but at least its gray. So I went for that (only I guessed shiny metal and not just gray)

Anyways, I also think is too shiny, it's a separated material, so I might play with it a little more once I'm done with textures.

    Thanks again guys!

  10. Hello Guys! Update time!

here's what I have so far. Might do some changes but this is the idea. I used Tenjin illustrations for reference, so some markings are just like his

  11. Anyone has a high resolution image of the decals sheet on Hasegawa's yf-21 kit? I'm trying to read what the hell does it says on the small markings on the front with no luck. I have Yamato's 1/60 manual, but it does not reflect those markings

  12. Hello all, thanks for the comments, I'll try to post some progress soon.

Would be a pleasure! Shoot me a msg anytime.

Back on topic - Brainx, are you planning on making panels removable for internal greebles? That'd be macanudo :D

Well, I haven't thought about it. The plan is to model the YF-19 as well and set a scene in the desert with New Edwards at the back. But I might just do that after all.

  13. 3D-Brainx

Looking good! I think you're doing brilliant with the proportions, but we'll have to wait to see the whole thing together. Keep up the good work.

Thanks! Let me just tell you that it's impossible to fit the arms and legs inside that plane, it's driving me crazy. Legs end up being too small and the arms too big. I'll have to do 2 sets, one for fighter and another for gerwalk and battroid.

I been testing some materials, the idea is to create different layers.

    Rust (not much):

I'll have to play around with the masks and the different layers. Lets see how it goes

  14. Bloody gorgeous - great job dude. There is some ref pics available for the elbow/bicep area (mostly internals) - when he's wrestling with the '19 and his arm breaks;

    And a couple of hand/fist screen caps;

Thanks Kurisama! I was looking for those pics! I remembered the arm braking but was too lazy to watch M Plus again :)

The only problem with that design is that it doesn't allow a full 180° bend.
