  1. The VF-2SS!! That will be my last holy grail-money-is-no-object item... although I don't think Mr. K designed that, so maybe he won't want Yamato to produce it.

Something tells me that if the VF-4G box comes with a teaser about a possible Christmas 2013 exclusive, this thread will dry up pretty soon! :-P

  2. Good point, hadn't realized that. Still it would make them much more expesive than they're going to be (oh my aching wallet). Then again macross toys was never a cheap hobby for any of us.

Actually it would be cheaper for 75% of the people from this forum. Even if proxy buying shops added a service charge they would start competing with each other and that charge would end up being something like 1000 Yen! Just look how attractive are the prices for the current Tamashii Exclusives!

  3. Awesome. Only sad thing is, I don't really like the RVF without the super packs, so that one's going to get neglected until they release packs for it. Maybe we'll get lucky, and they'll include the ghosts with the packs this time.

I do find it funny displaying that one in battroid though, since he never even did that in the show. :p

Well now that that's out of the way, and the CF-171 is coming, maybe we'll get a CF-25?

Or better yet a YF-25?

  4. I would say so two years ago.

But remembering that the VF-25G Tornado Set was released just a few months ahead of the VF-25F Renewal, I am not so sure.

But the VF-25G renewal itself would still be a year and a half away. I don't know if it's any indication but the VF-27s at Yahoo Japan Auctions still sell for about 25000YEN. Perhaps the japanese people know something we don't! :)

  5. Definitely the original version. The crotch is completely flat. And although i will buy the Super Parts if released separately, i think the baby purple makes the whole thing look a bit like a fabulous butterfly.

  6. They're waiting to announce the Christmas Box set of all four of them, its the only way to get the RVF-25.

Muuhaha... how else can we screw with Macross lovers... oh, yeah, they will be Ultra-exclusive, limited to a production run of ONE!

At least you would probably be able to find the Christmas box. How many people would spend 60000 YEN again? But if it was announced as a Tamashii Nations 2013 exclusive... That would be amazing forum material !

  7. .... :( I liked the green better.Made the thing pop out. The half Decepticon scheme gets eaten up by all the white: The cool contrast between black and pulple gets lost next to the white and just becomes a solid mass of dark.

    Also miss the orange-ish finish....

Ami-ami has the new pics in all modes and in big size:

I prefer the bright yellow but definitely wanted the fluorescent green canopy. Maybe they did it so as to keep the purple of the YF-29 as a color referring to the original, the way the yellow refers to the VF-1s? Although there was some green too on the nose. Come to think of it the YF-29 was rather busy!

  8. I don't think that'll take away sales from Bandai. Those that will be interested in getting these non-canon color schemes probably have the money to get both this one and the YF-29.

I still think Bandai outsells Yamato by far if what veef says is true about Bandai's production runs being more than Yamato's, but are still selling out anyway while a lot of Yamato stuff ends up in clearance sales.

It might also have to do with the fact that Yamato is releasing so similar products so close to each other. VF-19s and VF-19f, then you have VF-17s and VF-17d. How can these not end up on a sale if the initial retail price is almost the double!! The people who will go all out and buy each and every variant cannot be that many. You can buy almost as many as 3 VF-1s for the price of a VF-17, so it's not the same. It also did 3 batches of VF-19 Kai with only a few months intervals and eventually some stores have had to put that on sale too!

  9. Tornado packs just look cool :p

Personally i find the blue of the G a perfect match for the colors of its tornado packs. The whole unit looks seamless, while the F with tornado packs not so much. But that's all from what i have seen on the net, i haven't owned either version 1.

  10. There was no shipping cost estimate available at the time that I ordered from HLJ. I selected standard shipping. From previous experiences with HLJ, shipping should not be near $100 for a $335 item. Unless someone has to absolutely have it overnight once it comes out.

Well the value doesn't really matter. This is an estimate for a parcel weighing 2.5kgs. That's how much the Patlabor Ingram had weighed, and there's no way the VF-4 will match it. I think the actual EMS cost will be around 4000YEN, so around $70? And the standard mail will not be that much cheaper unfortunately (unlike buying from Hong Kong sellers)

    Hi,

For whomever is interested, these are the VF-1 Kakizaki and Max. I got them new - for Max's i had to fight a bit but since i had won Kakizaki's i wouldn't let it go so easily :) - i think i may keep them in their boxes for now. Still you can see the top details. The Max variant has a slightly more severe weathering around the middle.

  12. Very much tempted to finally get the Fire Valkyrie!

Is HK Collectibles a reliable store?

How much was it on HLJ Macross sale? I was waiting for another sale discount.

Agree with the above comments. I bought the VF-19 sound booster that was heavily discounted at HKColl. and it came new (or at least flawless inside because Yamato does not seal these latest boxes i think) and well packed.

  13. Is it too weird that i got the VF-25s Armored Parts to use on a VF-25F i have on display? :) My Ozma is still in the box and I didn't want to buy both customs right now, so i thought i'll buy the Ozma which is bound to be harder to find. I can imagine this being the case with any Tornado Parts that come along unless they are priced sensibly.
