Will TV 1/60-V2 come with round finger hands like the TV 1/48? My guess is probably not.
It will, at least according to the YAMATO web-site and the pics they posted on there.
-
To each his/her own, I guess. As much as I love the design of the VF-1, it just isn't complete without the FP's on. I love that aggresive look on the armored VF-1.
Actually, there is another reason to get the bare bones version of the VF-1S. I'm against the "munchkin" upgunned version of the Valkyries. I know that the reason they have things like armor packs and Strike Packs is to keep the TV series going and have something new to show the kids watching this week. But, it does end up being "munchkin". FYI for those who don't know the term munchkin, it is a term used in role playing games to describe somebody who MUST have the biggest, fastest, toughest, most powerful everything.I prefer the normal versions.
At least in the DYRL Macross it is explained that the strike pack is only used in out space. It cannot fly in an atmosphere. Either way, I think it ruins the clean lines of the sleek fighter.

Not to get off the subject or anything, but I wonder if KEVIN (VALK-EXCHANGE) is putting up a pre-order for the V.2 1J?
-
October, huh?!! Should be enough time for me to save up! Thanks for the heads up, guys !

I go in and out of macross. Last time I was here and looking around. 1/48 vf-1s was new and everyone was dumping the old 1/60's. Now everyone is dumping the 1/48's for the new 1/60. Say yamato came out with the newer 1/60's right after the old 1/60's. Then Came out with 1/48's. Would you still hold onto the new 1/60 or dump it for the 1/48?
That aside, it's always great to see the new yamatos.
Not everyone dumped their 1/48's, I know I didn't! The 1/60 V.2's a welcomed addition to my collection, and if YAMATO ever came out with a 1/48 V.2 (which I doubt!),I'd buy those too but would still keep the old ones. 1/48's rule!!!

Wonder if they will pull the TV coloured SUper/FP stunt this time again?
I wouldn't mind a TV coloured Super FP for the V.2 HIKARU 1J. I'm gonna end up using it on a ROY 1S, of course! But it would also be nice if the V.2 FP's can hold the gunpod in place like it should without any tinkering from any of us whatsoever.

I got mine yesterday. Can't wait to get my dirty, dirty hands on that sweet bird.
Ditto !!!!
-
Not really. But I've been waiting (just like most everyone here at MW.com!) for a fast-packed Valk that wouldn't be too damn heavy to play with.
-
Here you go.
Nice, he-he !
-
no the box is deeper, but it's not as big and every inch is used inside, not wasted like the 1/48. I guess they got rid of the retard that designed that monstrosity.
Sweet! Now how 'bout some box pics, guys?!

I hear ya. I would rather have side covers than the extra hands these are coming with.
Actually, I think they should include both. I mean, for the price that they're asking for it !
-
I'm in need of a 1/48 STRIKE TIP to complete a 1/48 MAX 1S custom. If anyone has any extra's that they are willing to part with, please send me a PM. Thanks for looking !

I never understood why ppl like the VF-11B so much. It's one of my least favorites.
I like it because out of all 3 MAC+ mechs, it closely resembles the original VF-1.
-
Very very nice. If the 1A gets Strike i'll grab it.
Me and you both, but here's hoping YAMATO's not going to limit the STRIKE CANNON/TIP for this 1/60 version to the 1S Variant, just like they did for the V1.
-
Not to get off the subject or anything like that, but from this particular comparison pic and the angle it was taken, the lower leg portion of the 1/60 V2 looks similar to that of the HASEGAWA BATTROID model (the one with the TENJIN HIDETAKA box art!). Very interesting!
-
With any luck they'll just toss out the 1A's all at the same time.
I don't know much about toy mass productions, but wouldn't this be a rather simple task for them to do. I mean, it's probably as easy as a simple re-paint of the 1A HIKARU. I can understand that YAMATO wanted to test the waters with this particular V.2 release, but c'mon, if the 1/48's and the crappy 1ST EDITION 1/60's are of any indication, this baby should sell real well.

i want a 1S Strike Hikaru NOWWWWWW !!!
(and possibly a 1S Max)
I really hope they do come out with both. Would be nice to have a 1S MAX in both scales.
-
Looks like YAMATO's cranking out the 1/60 V.2 sooner than I expected (although, it's probably not soon enough for some folks here at MW.com, he-he !).Those 1A pics just looks awesome. Time to start saving up for a HIKKY 1S !
-
The price tag on this particular release is just plain ridiculous, but I can't say that I'm surprised . Still looks awesome though, and will probably end up getting one.
-
My updated inventory :
1/60 = 1
1/48 = 5

For me, it's gonna be a coin toss between the 1/48 GBP/VF-1J Combo and the 1/48 HIKARU STRIKE VALK. Which ever one is closest to me physically during a fire or an earthquake would be the winner .
-
Yep. 2 of 'em in fact. Max & Miria Also, there may have been many others that just never got any screen time
I agree. In episode 27 during the final battle with BODOLZAA's fleet, every VF-1 in orbit around the earth was outfitted with FP's. There had to be at least one pilot during that particular battle that was flying a 1J, besides MAX n' MILIA.

The show already has it's core audience,if they want to get new viewers they need to have the show out there on DVD so new viewers have time to catch up, while the old viewers can just enjoy the show that they already love.
Chris
Now this I think would've been a good marketing ploy !

Nice! Thanks for the linky, CHOWYUNSKINNY!

HIKARU's 1J came with grey FP's? The 1/60 V.2 FP's looks to have the same color as on the 1/48 version.
