That looks awesome!

If this was out now, I’d be buying it now while I’m here in Japan!

I’m not surprised at all and was actually almost expecting to learn that Mari was one of his victims.
It’s been an industry “secret” for at least a decade that Mignogna is a predator. Each and every one of my friends that have staffed at conventions (some of them are even friends with Monica herself) and have dealt with him in the past have all said that Vic is garbage and that the only reason that cons have him as a guest is because he brings in attendees. So, yeah, I believe all that Mignogna has been accused of is true.

Some nice mileages there! My ‘05 Sentra SE-R is just 500 miles or so shy of 252k miles! It doesn’t look pretty anymore, but it still runs strong.

*shakes head* Well, that man will probably get all the mental health needs he rates, once he gets to prison. What if he commits seppuku before trial? Is that still a thing with mere rank & file Japanese?
He also could very well get the death penalty considering the number of people that died as a result of the fire.

Now that Crunchyroll has them up, I’m going to finally get around to watching Dancouga and Goshogun.

anyone know why 2202 isn't apparently on CR anymore?
The partnership between CR and Funimation ended.

I can’t believe that there wasn’t a single post in this in all of 2018! I could’ve sworn that some of those posts from 2017 were posted last year.

If I remember correctly, the Andromeda and the rest of the EDF ships were largely automated in the original Yamato 2.
-
I saw a couple of adds for that when I was in Japan last week.

I wonder what the chances of them rescuing the license for Maison Ikkoku. Sure, I can find Viz’s release fairly easily, but the prices of the sets past the first three are ridiculously expensive!

Not even remotely!

Didn't the Emaan also have really short lifespans?
It's been a while since I've watched Orguss, but I don't remember them ever mentioning the Emaan's lifespans. In the Wikipedia for Orguss it does mention that Emaan women are only fertile until age 18. Maybe that's what you're thinking of, Seto?

Hmmm, the raw is out, and I have to say, Syndrom was right: "When everyone's super, no one will be."
Remember when the WMG was a big deal? Remember when a ship was sunk, it was a big deal? (Ok, I don't remember that either with all the fodder we've seen), but the cookie cutters really went to overdrive in ep 17 and 18. Sigh... I'm just hoping the subs will make this more interesting.
The original did the same thing, though, so this isn't anything new. The WMG was only a big deal in the original Yamato. It stopped being so the moment that Arrivederci Yamato/Yamato 2 introduced the Andromeda and the rest of the Earth fleet. The only thing that changed was the number of ships.

The 1/500 2199 version is an awesome kit. Funny thing for me is that I couldn't find the kit in any of the stores in Japan when I was there in September of 2016. I actually had to order mine from a place in the US once I got back from my tip!

Agh... I'm gonna miss it by three days! Three stinkin' days.
Sucks, don't it? At least we'll be able to see the Macross: The Art exhibit that's currently running at the Tezuka Museum!

Really disappointed that the concert isn’t in early August when I’ll actually be in Japan!
-
Would it be correct to assume that they'll keep the Voltron name on the Japanese sets as well?
-
I'd still take the Frontier fleet even with its Vajra problem!

I do remember there being a few garage kits for Gaia Gear back in the early 90’s. I had a friend look out for them in Japan way back when, but he never did find any.

And here I am just being happy that there's finally a 1/100 Jagd Doga model!

Even in the original, Oberstein looked like he had some crossed wires in his head. His voice actor is spot-on in this revamp. Is it the same guy?
No, it isn’t. The original voice actor for Oberstein, Kaneto Shiozawa, passed away in 2000.

Yep, I remember those ads for VF-X2 was eagerly waiting for its release! Thankfully, I was at least able to get my hands on the Japanese release of it.
