Love those chain bases. Too bad they are so small you have to get so many to make a decent dio.
-
NICE!! Max Respect! are those 1/60?

Does CD japan charge you immediately or at the time of shipping? i'm still searching their help site....

Someone cleaned out the regular olive drab at HLJ. Never cared for Yamato's factory weathering. Prefer to do it myself if at all. But atleast Yamato took some clues from Hasbro & milked the 2 molds with a few repaints before it was all over.

Thanks dude!! I agree, they're no where near as poseable as the Yamato toys, however the price is right for the size, details not to shabby, fun to make customs with and you can buy a Phalanx and Spartan!!
Exactly! I found the Defender & Tomahawk at a local shop for under $20 MISB each. Once they got panel-lined & decaled they look great.
AND yes... I definately have to get a Phalanx & a Spartan. Got to complete the Destroid set. Atleast Matchbox had the decency to put 4 out of 5 Destroids in the same scale.... (im talking to you Yamato )

I posted these in the wrong thread... so here is the Destroid love...

SWEET!!... I don't understand the hatred for the Robotech Destroids.
For the size & price i think they look pretty damn awesome.

some more non-scale Destroid love

So other then AmiAmi, CDjapan, AmazonJP, YesAsia & PlayAsia are there any other online outlets for getting this besides auction scalpers?
I'm surprised. I could have sworn a few years ago there were many more reliable online stores that sold import games & dvd's.
-
Agreed. It's a damn good show & an excellent addition to the SW universe. Any so called SW fan who can't get past the CGI or the Cartoony designs is really missing out.

my new prized possession... some 1985 diecast vintage awesomeness to protect the 1/144's on the Prometheus shelf.
Monster Tank meet MAC Monster Destroid....

Hangar/Maintence bay update: Monster tank gets some arm cannons. Destroid Defender prototype added. And Meltran help....

Does any other online store have this up for preorder? Joel is a good dude, but i could have sworn BBTS has had a lot of old restock items labeled "PREORDER".... only to get cancelled if they can't find an old supply & get it back in stock. It says 1997, not reissue.

Anyone pick up the new comic?
i've been reading them, haven't read the latest yet... i have no idea where they are going with this origin story...
-
Re-issue?? Definately need more info on that.

Awesome! i love the destroids, especially in military NATO green.... too bad they didn't get any 1/48 love......
-
Yeah, considering the Joe vehicles are rarely even close to 1/18 scale. And the red/blue vehicle is from the Avenger 3.75" figure line. I expect to see that one repainted for a lot of various different lines. But this is probably the first Macross kitbash. Thanks Hasbro.
And thanks Yamato for providing extra decals for all the Valks.
Now i'm just waiting for Metal Gear Rex to be the closest thing to a 1/48 Destroid-like mecha for my shelf.

After only been seriously collecting for less then 4 months....i'm still saddened by no 1/48 Destroids so... this is what happened.... I felt my dio/hangar/shelf needed some ground support.....(W.I.P.)

did you panel line your red lion
Oh yeah. One of the first things out the box after i found a #2 decal. I used grey & black, utlra-fine gundam marker.
i felt the need to bring out the few details it had on it, because sometimes being anime-accurate isn't all that great....

I just got my GBP-1S armor in today and it's epic. I also have Hikaru VF-1J on the way. If you want an awesome display 1/48's are the centerpiece.
AGREED. Absolutely EPIC.
1/48's continue to amaze me to this day. Still sad to see everything going the 1/60 direction.

Holy shitcakes!!! I wasn't envious of your collection until i saw the GBP army shelf & the Cannon Fodder fleet!!! THAT is some impressive sh*t right there!!! BRAVO man. Most impressive.
No wonder i can't find this stuff, so many vets have so many duplicates.... lol.

Alright, got another n00b question to throw out there. I'm a fairly new collector, so my only experience is with 1/60 Yamato VF-1 series. But I have heard of the famous 1/48 series upon which they are based. I recently got the opportunity to pick up a 1/48 roy VF-1s for fairly cheap, and was wondering if I should make the plunge (about $100).
What exactly are some advantages and downfalls of the 1/48 (besides size of course ) in comparison to the 1/60 (I know some people on this forum are diehard 1/48 fans).
Thanks in advance guys!
I went thru the same problem 4 months ago. 1/48's are pure awesome. Built like bricks. Are not plagued with many issues & are the biggest valks made. The only 'cons' are the relative selection is minimal compared to the vast 1/60 scale. And if you like other Macross lines besides SDF/DYRL then your 1/48 giants will be all alone in that scale. The other con is the price. If you see one under $150 nowadays then that is sadly a pretty good deal.

Definately looking forward to this series. I hope the prices are reasonable. Especially since it should be U.S. domestic & no import/yen pricing.

Most impressive!! The gold visor looks great on the stealth.
Where the hell does one get those Minmei Guard decals?
