  1. Yeah. But all auction sites should just ban the issue, people that don't need the system will stop buying it for profits, make everyone else happy.

I swear this is like WoW chinese farmers all over again, well kind of. Blizzard can stop chinese farming anytime, they have the power, but they don't want to since they know they would lose money. Nearly the same exact issue with this. Greed will enslave us all, and I know it.

I don't see any problem here. You keep on saying that there are people that want the system so they can play it instead of the people that want the system only for profit. But did you stop and think about where those system is going to ended up at the end? It's still going to end up in a home where someone wants it bad enough to place the price for it.

If they really need the system that bad then they should think of a way to get it, if you want it you will have to work for it. may it be getting in line 1 day head of time, looking up news on preorders, camping out for days , or just buy it from whoever has it. You either do the extra work or pay the extra cash. When the demand is high and the supply is low, whoever wants it more will get it.

If someone is willing to pay $2200 for a PS3 then obviously they want the system more then a person that's only willing to pay $550.

  2. By the way since you guys are talking about photo editing too, do you know of a good program that can change, focus, or replace a certain color? My camera is a Cannon SD400 and it has a custom color option at which I can set it to focus only on that color, or even switch a certain color with another automatically. I was wondering if you guys know of a program like that.

Here's a shot that focus mainly on Optimus prime RED

  3. you're right, it does not say it "requires" and more likely it's an option.

so is the whole game 5GB? I know the install files are meant to speed up load times, but after the 5 GB install, what are they streaming off the bluray disc?

hmm, I'm not sure on that one, I guess music and soundtrack is one of the stuff that will be streaming from the disc, perhaps the tracks or cars will be too. Or maybe that 5 GB is all the track, or all the cars so they will just need to stream either one from the disc. ;)

  4. "IGN is reporting that Ridge Racer 7 will require a 5GB install on the hard drive in order to play. This is the second game to confirm an install on the hard drive, with Genji 2 requiring 2GB of space to install."

    Wow, the more I read, the more the PS3 is a PC @_@;;

I wonder how long the wait is to install the game

I think you read it wrong or reworded it wrong. No where does it say that 5GB of install is required in order to play the game. You don't have to install anything and it will still play. But if you install those files it will speed up loadtime. it's a option not a requirement.

And this is Namco you are talking about, I'm pretty sure they can toss in a mini game for you to play while the files are installing to your harddrive.

  5. Some painting questions: How were the green circled parts masked/painted? (Gundam 1/100 Seed Destiny Ungradeds)

    1. (Saviour) Outside grey, inside black, but yellow trim around the INSIDE of the ... thingy

    2. (Legend) Little cannons were molded onto the grey plastic as one piece, yet he's painted them all completely red, or at least enough red such that we cannot see that the other side is still grey

Thanks guys, I've been wanting to start on these two kits but these issues keep daunting me.

1, with a small brush, paint the yellow first, I'm lazy so i would even paint the black area yellow. So eveything will be yellow on the inside.

Now for the black. Face the plastic moded piece up so it will be like a cup with the area you want to paint at the bottom of the cup. Because of gravity all the black paint will want to stay at the bottom so just a small bit should be enough and the paint will spread the whole bottom area and form a pretty oval shape similar to your glass drinks will form a circular shape if you lool at it from the top. ( if you are really lazy like me, can just use a black micro pen and just color the black in)then just finish off the outside with gray.

    2. with a small brush, paint it carefully. it sounds harder but it's actually pretty easy.

  6. even if it's import, if it's shipping to the USA, the seller will require to paint the tip orange or replace it with a orange tip. Similar to the Airsoft restrictions, if it looks real then it'll have to be orange tipped. If Meg does turn out to be a MP5 then I'll just skip it since I already have a metal Mp5.

I would really like Meg as a TANK.

To add some more fuel to the Lik-Sang/Sony controversy, as pointed out by 1up.com (it should also be in the Lik-Sang letter) some of Sony Computer Entertainment Europe's higher ups are customers of Lik-Sang and purchase PSP goods through Lik-Sang.

here's a update on that one.

    http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3154645

This isn't the first time Lik-Sang's run into legal trouble before, either. In 2002, Sony, Nintendo and Microsoft all alleged copyright infringements over the sale of mod chips. None of these legal hurdles seemed to pose a problem for the company, though, as they were still operating as of yesterday.

Liksang also snitched on their customers, I feel sorry for the Sony guys that brought PSP from them. What happen to consumer privacy.

  8. That link mentions "new color" and shows a dry brushed chest area on the strike IWSP. What does this mean...that it comes pre-painted like that?

Anyway looks like they made the shield smaller and more manageable on the model. On the lineart, the gattling gun shield was huge.

The new Mg IWSP Strike Gundam is molded to a more darker blue coler, and the white became alittle blue-ish too. It almost looks like the IWSP pack is sucking so much power that the strike is just bearly able to maintain Phase shift on.

  9. ouch.... I was wondering if those super cool "Sixaxis" controllers were going to have replaceable batteries like a cellphone but I guess not....

Xbox360 wins again... its got rumble and you don't have to wait for Sony to mail you a new controller while your third friend sits on the couch controllerless... :p

Sure, man, whatever you say, I can't believe you consider this a bad thing. $20 extra for a recharging kit from Microsoft that it also will last about the same about of time before you have to replace it's rechargable batteries, or buying new batteriers every time it runs out surely does not equal xbox360 winning again. You will be spending much more money on the wireless xbox 360 controller. If you prefer wired ones then, you can do the same with the Ps3 controller.

  10. Er, if a certain price becomes "too much" for someone to spend, than any price higher than that is absolutely no difference to that person. Too much is too much, no matter how you slice it. A little bit too much is no different than several thousand dollars too much to that person.

not really, there is a difference and that's the price. $1 difference is not the same as $100 differences, or $1,000 difference, even if they are all over your "too much" mark.

by your logic, It's like me wanting to buy another 1/48 valk and complaint that $350 is too much for me to spend on 1 valk since $150 was my max on the last 1/48 that I brought. Anyone that's reading and knows the pricing would go WTF!? you can get a valk cheaper than that. But if it's like what you said, then it shouldn't matter what number I put in there, since any number over my own " too much" ammount is the same. I can fill that sentence with $600 for 1 valk is too much or $1,000 for one valk is too much and it wouldn't matter even if I was comparing to the pricing of the $150 1/48 valk that I previously brought.

  11. I did the math a long time ago. It came out to something like a 30 second load time on a 16x DVD would be 45 seconds on a 2x Blu-Ray or a full minute on 1x. They did finally say the PS3 is 2x, right?

Wait, don't you work at at gamestore? come on, you should know that the PS3 is 2x months ago. ^_^

In your math calculation you forgot to add in one major process that consumes time and power. It's call decompression/extract/etc. If a file or part of a file is require to be compressed to fit in a DVD, it will also require to be Decompressed to be readable. That takes more time and more CPU power then just Streaming the data over from a Larger disc. So the seconds that you gained in your example of a straight transfer process might not have a huge of a impact as what the numbers are showing. Depending on the compression of the game data, you might even lose all your previous transfersing advantages in your decompression process. Decompression of files will also take away some of your system RAM/memory also, it'll be in temp files, and will be constantly cleared and readwrited but sure enough it will be there. This alone give developers more freedom because they will have more CPU power to use on other things and not have to worry as much with restricting certain part of that power for Decompression if they don't need to.

I think $500 is too much. $400 for the 360 was really too much, but it was close enough that, at least in my case, I was battying about the price even as I grabbed for my wallet.

If $500 is already considered "too much" to you, which is about $100 over from your $400 xbox 360. Then why are you even posting that you are not going to spend $600 on a Console. When you are really saying you're not going to even spend $500 on a console. Are you telling me that you see no difference in $500 to $600, but there's a Huge difference in $400 to $500? They are both $100 more from each other.

If $500 is too much to you for a Console then you should complaint about that next time instead of using $600.

  12. Of course anyone can voice their opinion, but sometimes it just seem so one sided and base on rumors or lies, or whatever that it screams "quote me".

Here's a big example: The same people that is saying the PS3 is too expensive always happen to use the $600 price. It seems like they have no clue that there's a $500 Ps3. It gets even better when they started comparing pricing of the $400 xbox 360 Premium to the $600 Ps3 and complaints that the PS3 is forcing them on too many extras that they don't want, yet in reality they do WANT since they keep on talking about the $600 Ps3 and not the $500 Ps3 with less features.

everytime, I see those, it always crack me up  Its' almost the same as the people that was saying that the PS3 is too expensive , no one is going to buy it. And then when Sony annouce that they can't delivery the 2 million on launch date, the same people will compliant that Sony released too little. I mean WTF? didn't you said no one is going to buy it? so what does it matter if they make too little, no one is going to buy it anyways, right?

well, what I'm trying to say is, that replys in these Console Threads should be base on what you really think with not so much bias. ^_^

  13. Er...no, developement costs will only continue to increase as graphics improve. Better hardware only makes better graphics possible, it does not neccessarily make it easier. Games with the level of detail promised by MGS4 and FFXIII will almost certainly cost more than your average game, simply due to production costs.

It's possible developers will try and take a hit on pricing to keep the costs to gamers down and meet the expected market prices, but that means they'll have to cut corners elsewhere eventually. It makes no sense for developers to produce higher quality graphics only to make less in profits.

You are quite right on how Japanese pricing differs from American pricing for games. On the other hand, most of these early titles look only marginally better than their 360 counterparts. It's to be expected they will have similar prices.

errr,,I think you need to read again, no where did I say developement cost will go down. I was talking about PRODUCTION COST, you know stuff ,like producing many Blu-ray copies of their games. And for pricing and profit, since these MGS4 and FF games will most likey sell tons more than the current launch title, they will certainly make tons more then them.
