  1. Tons to catch up. This thread moves faster than two shakes of a lamb's tail. You've pretty much nailed. Hate? That's a strong word. Hmm, somewhat true. I care just enough I'd say. Baby-sitting forums is not my thing. What was my nickname? Uh. . . Mr. Apathy or something, I forget. That is what bugs me so about HG. i guess I understand that as they're a company that *needs* to do it in order to contain the franchise their way. But c'mon now, seems to me fan ideas have a lot more mileage than the "official" story. Little or no oversight is probably why they're good or better. What's a macaw?
  2. The two similar looking baddies that are taking over the main control system and preparing to fold remind me of the Rain Country Ninjas in Naruto that kept saying 'Lucky." Max and Milia were the reason why i TOLERATED this series. Then Mac 7 just grew on me. There is a Mylene panchira shot in there. Agreed, that is one of the things that bothered me throughout their appearances. Maybe the writers thought spending time with humans made the warrior-woman soft? She can still fly her VF like no other. No helmet needed to boot.
  3. As I just voted in the poll for DYRL the count is TV Series: 107 vs. DYRL: 75 Not sure if its fair to compare both since they're sort of a different animal. One is a long tv series and the other a an hour plus flick. Its like comparing the same marathon runner that does a sprint. Then again. . . I prefer DYRL. I think its the best space anime movie hands down! It has everything. The city definitely seems more realistic than the TV series. Just thinking about it makes me giggle like a school girl. Take the opening sequence, when the SDF-1 is slowly appearing and the huge DYRL sign pops up with the soundtrack. Oh my god just gives me stiffy. Then as Hikaru's VF is being released, more good stuff. It just flows better and of course it should because the story is compacted. There is nothing I dislike. Even though I prefer DYRL, I consider it a "grown up" version of Macross TV series. Hech when I purchased my first 55" flat screen it was the first thing I played on it.
  4. I'll jump in a little late, but still quite early since we're doing this an episode a week. As of right now, we're on episode 13 correct?
  5. Oh but how could I not be aware. You sent me the most flattering email I've ever received! Thank you sir. Honey Pie! I forget you frequent these waters. I've been putting it off, mostly because much like your site (TRU). I receive updates to forums via RSS on the Opera browser installed on my mobile. Well isn't it clear? HG and Robotech Debates. Question should be: Why wouldn't they? Ah, very interested in this event. If anything to plug it on RTX and let people know about it if possible. I'll send you a PM.
  6. Finally joined in on the fun. Many thanks to all as this thread entertains me so! HG and RT "debating" is fun to read. Just a quick correction as to what RTX's announcement was all about. While RTX has "plugged" convention panels in the past. If the 25-year anniversary announcement plugged anything, it was JT's The Protoculture Times podcast linky here. This was corrected (sort of) in a later post. As far as RT.com Lite is concerned, well that's another story. . . Yes! Right on the money: "So far, it doesn't look like anyone who actually matters bothered to even acknowledge the existence of Robotech on March 4th." Words could have not been truer. So what do Robotech fans have to look forward in regards to the 25th anniversary of the comatose franchise? Probably not much. If anything my guess is that there will be something at Comic Con 2010. Maybe? Not holding my breath. On this side of the coin its the wait and see game. Should have re-discovered Robotech five years from now instead of 2007. When it will either release another movie or be resting in peace .
