I'm curious too. Like if I put all those covers and whatnot can I still put it back to the box as is?

Yup. Done that. Surprised that the ARMD also came off easily. I heard horror stories of high difficult they were to attach.

My shop told me that Bandai requires the entire valkyrie to be shipped back to Japan for exchange.  So I transformed mine back to robot and packed up everything and got it ready to ship.  My shop pays return shipping.  So all I have to do is get this out and wait.  I wanted to just exchange the little part by itself but they won't.  oh wells... at least they will swap the whole kit.

Good for you then:D Maybe Bandai needs to trace the serial # of the wayward stock.

Because this is the HMR thread, so using the Arcadia would be cheating.  =P

But it would be all 3D! Not 2.5D

Just imagining it is giving me the shivers!

Tried doing a little bit touch up using Microsoft Paint...

Why don't you do it with a blown up image of the Arcadia Macross  and use a generic earth in space background (simiar to the PS3/PS4 screen saver)bridge?

I got my VF-1A Super Valkyrie today but it came with two left side leg armor attachment pieces.  Do these shops offer replacement parts?  It came with the correct leg armors though.

If at amiami, keep those documents attached to the box. The one with the shipping/order number. Email them at customer support, send them an image and scans of the documents. In my case, it was an Optimus Primal MP 1st version. His "face" with lips mask had this ugly paint chip which can't be easily ignored. I ask only for the mask replacement and not the whole set. They shipped the replacement free of charge.

    I repeat:

    1. Keep those invoice papers included in the box.

    2. Amiami asked for the number of the invoice, I just scanned the whole lot of them

    3. Also send them an image of the defective part

    4. Best of all, be nice and courteous

5.(I do have a long mileage history with them so this might also be a factor)

You chose to use EMS in our country? I avoid EMS like the plague. The tracking is not as good as courier services like UPS or DHL, plus I have to pick it up at the Pasay office which normally takes 3 hours because of the lousy process they follow. Plus the customs guys there seem very eager to charge lots of customs tax. If there’s no invoice on your item, they’ll “research” the highest price on the internet and use that as the value to base the tax on.

    This. Ouch!

I wonder how the inner lights on the main cannon do not get destroyed when it is fired.

Ok. I suppose the SDF-1's main cannon could be using some form of magnetic confinement fusion, injecting plasma into the area between the cannon pylons, where the pylons themselves act as the magnetic confinement mechanism. I suppose then the pylons can also double as a kind of plasma railgun, adjusting the magnetic confinement field to propel the plasma towards the enemy. This could explain why we sometimes see those pylons somewhat disintegrate on occasion within the show, as perhaps the confinement is destabilized in battle or firing the cannons is rushed when the state of the plasma is not fully under control.

Now my mind is recalling all the stuff we covered back in my undergraduate nuclear engineering seminar elective. Fun fact, MIT has its own research reactor that does the whole magnetic confinement of plasma thing. The roofs of many of the buildings on campus are equipped with radiation detectors as a precaution. The reactor actually makes money for the school, irradiating silicon ingots, which can then be sliced into a bunch of circular wafers for use in microprocessor fabrication.

Now I wonder, what is the nature of the main cannon's attack supposed to be in canon?

What your saying is scary if applied in reality (Macross guns etc)

    Discounted item.

Crushed box or accumulated points? I buy from hlj time to time and they don't give you the option to accumulate your purchase points from which you can unload it on a particular purchase. It's just like an automatic discount on the latest item. That or I'm doing it wrong with 'em.

    DOES NOT COMPUTE

I'm selling mine.  An old friend who can't afford the Premium Finish version will be happy to claim my Yammie.  ^_^

You already answered the quandry.  Your buddy will gladly "adopt" your "cheaper?" version. The premium finish, despite it beauteous "bling", is still like 2 to 3x more expensive. Unless you got yours not at secondary market prices, which would be fine. Getting them at secondary market prices............this does not compute.

Congrats anyway to those who got the Premium version. And also, to your buddy who will treasure the base version (an equally beautiful work of mechanical engineering.

To my surprise HLJ shipped my HR VF1A today...But since I live in the 3rd world I'm most probably still getting it next week.

EMS I presume? Good luck with how fast customs clears it!

I wonder if there is going to be an influx of cheap standard version 1/3000 scale SDF-1's on the market with the PF release being out now.

I will have to keep an eye out....

    (*looks at display cabinet*)

... or I would have, if I had room for another SDF-1.

    *sigh*

I don't thinks so. The basic edition owners will still retain their's because, well it's still cheaper to have owned one.

Hahaha! You should've specified you're referring to just Yahoo! Mail then. :p

Oh. Before I forget another when Yahoo didn't suck -- Hard Gay. I don't know. I just find all of his clips funny. I just remember he did one with Yahoo! Japan.

    My bad. Yahoo mail sucks!

Thanks guys. I'm back home now so I checked again. For the first time ever the notification emails went into the junk mail folder @_@

Maybe I should start migrating my accounts off Yahoo! email...

    When did yahoo not suck?

It never gave me the option, had to pay through my paypal account (and pay the currency conversion thru them) rather than my foreign transaction card.

You can choose the method in the payment option.

Is it easy to order stuff from Mandarake as an American? I'm only used to dealing with hlj and the likes.

They won't accept CC unless it has this 3D Secure Authorization (especially adult items or you just don't want to get involved with PayPal). Ask your bank if it uses that system too.

It works this way. Choose an item. Once availability is confirmed, choose method of payment. If CC, you will get an SMS from your bank with a code. Enter that code in the payment link and you're all set.

The Drossel was shipped. It was my first time ordering from Mandarake.

Yes, it can be hot and humid here, but my stuff isn’t exposed to extreme temperatures or weather conditions. I have owned other Figmas that are either older or also have predominantly white plastics (e.g. the 2nd version of Drossel) and none of them turned out as bad as that first Drossel.

I remember watching so many knockoff videos to figure out if the one Mandarake sold me was a KO or not, but there was never a complete match with any of the KO versions. Like maybe it would have 1 of the flags/indicators of a KO, but have 4 others that make it seem authentic. But never did it check all the flags for an authentic Drossel. I suspect that either what I got was a different KO version, or the previous owner mixed parts from other Figmas (e.g. stand, pegs, etc) to make it seem like it wasn’t a KO.

    Major bummer dude!
