  1. Sorry, I am unable to find the post from the StarshipModeler forum that mentioned someone placing an order earlier this year and was waiting a while to receive their order. I do not even know if the person received their order as the thread got purged after 30 days.

Again, nothing against PetarB I am just advising people to reach out him before committing to a purchase. Here is a thread from last year where PetarB posted he wanted to update his site around xmas 2014 but I see no new updates since 2013.

  2. I hope I can place this request here. So I was able to pick up a large lot of old Takara Dougram Fang of the Sun model kits but they are all missing boxes and instructions. I identified some of the kits as the Mavellic, Blizzard Gunner, Soltic H8, Duey and Bromry Trailer. Can anyone recommend a website that has instructions of these kits for download?

  3. Whilst some of the vehicles have been done, they are not currently available. Jason is busy / unreachable and some of his clients are still waiting over a year to receive their items.

It may be worthwhile for SpacePirateNeko to redo some of the vehicles if they can be improved upon. Anywho, here is a link to my sales thread of Jason's ground vehicles which in turn link to his WIP threads.

  4. Its hard to compare colors on a computer screen but the metallic blue in the color chart I posted looks similar to their mica blue. The metallic also comes in the paint jars too. You can always test the colors on a scrap model or plastic to get a feel.

The YF-19 and VF-1S models are readily available, its only the 25th anniversary decal that is somewhat harder to come by. None of the Hasegawa models have become collectors items though a few Macross Zero models were selling for higher prices a couple of years ago. If you're not satisfied with the paint before the decaling stage you could either strip the paint or obtain another YF-19 model to use the decals on.

  5. You will want polystyrene cement. It is available in 2 types, one is a thick-ish gel type and comes in a squeeze tube. The other is a thinner liquid type and is usually in a plastic bottle. Testors and Revell have them with needle like tips for application. The liquid type is also available with a brush for application

  6. The new Bandai Macross kits are ok if you want a transforming model kit. These are the new Bandai VF-1S & VF-1A/S kits. Here is a build thread on the Bandai kits.

The wave kits are good for 1/100 scale, the link you posted is at an excellent price as they are usually $35+

I personally prefer the Hasegawa kits, they have more variety and the proportions for Fighter mode are very realistic

  7. I picked up my first Hot Toys sixth scale figure the other day -- Captain America, stealth suit version from The Winter Soldier. I tried to swap his default right hand/fist for one of the optional hands, and instead of pulling off just the hand, I pulled off the hand with the wrist joint that pegs into the arm. I'm having an insanely difficult time trying to pull the wrist joint out of the hand -- anyone have any advice for an easy way of removing these? I tried a few different things but I didn't want to do anything more for fear of damaging it. Hot Toys includes an extra pair of the wrists, so I was still able to pop one onto the optional hand and stick that on, but at some point I'd like to eventually salvage the other wrist joint.

Dunk the part in a cup of hot water (I usually microwave a cup of water for 40-60 seconds) or use a hair dryer to heat and soften the plastic enough for your to remove the peg.

  8. Eriku, I suspect that someone with the same or similar details as you has been previously banned from Mandarake. I shared a similar address with someone at my university who was banned and I ended up being banned too. I could not persuade them to make an exception so I just used a different mailing address under a new account.

Now I must point out that SAL can be shipped with Registered Mail/insurance, which is what Mandarake and other online retailers do (HLJ, Amiami, Hobby Search etc.). I was doubting whether they would look into the claim but it they do because USPS had to respond to the Japan Post claim and asked me whether I received the package or not.

As Gakken85 said, sometimes people take a risk and opt for the cheapest shipping method possible (ie no tracking or insurance), under those circumstances I believe the buyer should take responsibility for any losses because it was their choice to be cheap.

  9. There are 2 Megahouse Cosmo Fleet lines, the gashapon version where support vehicles have been included but these are all small and not as detailed. The Cosmo Fleet Special is of larger models with better detailing and so far have been of capital ships only.

The SDF-1 arms are pretty small and if sold separately would most likely be in a different scale. They may release 2 versions of the SDF-1, one as seen in the opening episode and another with the arms added. They released the Nahel Argama in a normal and battle damaged version so it could be a possibility

  10. Doh, can't believe I missed the original thread.

I have the Gundam CF SP ships so I may spring for this one, though I would have preferred the Daedalus and Prometheus being included. Hopefully if this sells well it will lead to the start of a line of capital ships for Macross
