I suggested to him that he just admit that saying Cary turned down the movie project was FALSE any way you look at it and the "sour grapes" remarks he made about him were out of line I even gave him an out saying that to save face he could blame it ALL on Mav because he told him about this piece of "news" to begin with....And THEN I got this... Is there ANYTHING that HG does that is impressive or eyecatching? Take a look at Robotech.com.... You got a wannabe of a wannabe "Marketing Coordinator" whose claim to fame is being able to go to conventions at his bosses' expense. You got Shadow Rising, XXth Soundtrack, Doucmentary, Harmony Gold's Janitor's Cut of The Shadow Chronicles, REVAMPED Website.... WHOOPS!!!!!!!!!!!! MY BAD! Those things haven't HAPPENED. Sorry. Fact is there is NO REASON to hate Harmony Gold for Robotech..................because they DO ABSOLUTELY NOTHING FOR ROBOTECH.... I'd say it was funny if it wasn't so sad....

Yeah, I noticed that too and called the "poster" out on it on why they would ALTER their copy and paste of the article....and of course the response {CRICKETS CHIRPING}. I'm surprised they didn't report how Warner Brother's firing of Charlie Sheen will benfit the Robotech Live Action Movie. But give em' time, I'm sure the "I'll do anything for HG" brigade will find some connection.

It's AMAZING in this day and age with the current economic and employment situation, you have a guy that gets to travel across the country (probably at Harmony Gold's expense) sit in front of a computer and looks like he's going through a real bout of constipation (saw this year's AOD videos) and at the same time try to sell to a room with more empty chairs than people the same song and dance that's been done for the last few years. (Instead of Shadow Rising, now it's Animated Feature 20??). Then said guy goes back to the office to get on a computer to go onto a forum and wants to punk out any dissenting voices like the fat kid trying to take away everybody's lunch money. ALL THE WHILE GETTING PAID FOR IT......... Ladies and gentleman, we are in the wrong line of work. I thought Steve Yun had it good. What's really the kicker is the "The only way to see this new animated footage is going to cons!"....The only con here is the one the "CAN'T MAN" is trying to pull. You figure a good business move would be to show it to a fandom that is more and more seeing through the facade and sayin' "Eh, no thanks HG." Talk is talk. Results are Results. It's like the NFL. Teams can talk, show promise, make some interesting moves. No SuperBowl win though, and the season is a FAILURE. Kevin can put on a spin on it all he wants with the "OH ROBOTECH IS FINE....ANIMATED FEATURE....LIVE ACTION MOVIE"....Talk is indeed talk. I say let him keep doing it. Especially on the forums where he thinks people ACTUALLY take him seriously. And of course Kevin will remind us that all this speculation/frustration happened for the release of the Shadow Chronicles...and I will give him that. If history repeats itself, then this new animated feature will s*ck too then, so thanks for givin' us the heads up Kevin. On a side note...could somebody tell me his OFFICIAL TITLE...Paycheck Collector is obvious, but seriously...and one more thing...did he actually use to troll these parts? Just curious. Sighs....an oddity on both sides of the coin.... Since I don't view Robotech as a godly, commie destroying, anti socialist, liberal crushing,heaven ordained, blind devotion to the Blessed Sacrament of Harmony Gold and Shadow Rising......OMG he's a Macross Purist! Since I have no reason to bash Macross......OMG he's WEIRD Robotech fan!!!!!!!!! The story of my life....LOL! And YES Seto, I have seen the fandon which I am part of and you got a lot of cool people. People who came along for the ride on my show and enjoyed it. I don't need to boast any numbers or "downloads" to know that The Protoculture Times had listeners around the world because the listeners themselves let me know. And in the end, even after the ribbings you'd give me (and there were many! )...I think you understood what I was trying to do and that's I did it for fun....never "downloads". OH COME ON! Am I such an oddity? I NEVER concerned myself with the whole Macross VS. Robotech thing. I know there are people that absolutely hate Robotech and would love to see it go down in flames! By the same token I know there are some seriously messed up people who call themselves Robotech fans who say and I quote "Riding with my sword of justice in my hand, continuing my long crusade against the ungodly troops of the Macross Purists." Swear to God, NO JOKE! WTF???? The term Macross Purist, and I have said this many times on the show.....is an excuse to justify that one is a Robotech Fan. (sometimes in the most outrageous ways) WHAT in the hell is there to justify????? For me..it's just easier to say I love Robotech...I'm a fan...and hey...that's it. Bottom Line.....Macross VS. Robotech.....I don't care... When it comes to Macross, my only experiences are TWO of them....saw the english dub of SDFM and Macross DYRL.....which I did enjoy. And of course I realize that by posting here I won't get any further sales calls for a subscription to "HARMONY GOLD RULES" Magazine.... And there are more of Robotech fans out there who think like this....that don't care about some fanatical crusade...they enjoy what they want to enjoy.... A few people here have mentioned the show here in a positive light in the past year and I thought I'd share the link because I'm appreciative of the plugs to the podcast. But if you REALLY feel the need or have been offended in any way by my post or my lack of avatar, you go ahead and take it up with someone. With the rest of the RT podcasts who whine and moan week after week about the "Macross Purists", "fake" scripts", etc. like it's some sort of "holy crusade" of righteousness, I never saw the people who like Macross as a problem. In fact, some of them have been loyal listeners to my show. Though for some reason, it's considered a capital sin with the self proclaimed "ministers" over at the "Holy Church of Robotech" to even mingle with them. Even worse when I have a few choice words about Harmony Gold's "Three Stooges" (Tommy, Kevin and Steve) and their "marks" aka moderators who love making whacked out claims like "Paramount Studios is quaking in their boots over the prospect of a RT LAM". It makes me a traitor, a rat, a nonbeliever, a heretic who should be burnt at the stake. I find it laughable the apparent loss of reality in those people. I love my Robotech and the "creepies" are just angry that I don't follow the "party line" with my podcast and that I DON'T denounce Macross World as a cestpool of evil. I mean...what are they REALLY gonna do except flap their gums about me...that's all they really got at the end of the day. I take solace in the fact that I don't lose sight that it's an animated series and to them.....well, it's really scary to see what Robotech has become for them from a mental and psychological standpoint. And I will utter here what is extremely tabu over at the Robotech "establishment". Without Macross, Southern Cross or Mospeada....you wouldn't have Robotech. That simple...simple as that. Well, I've also been an object of Maverick_LSC (Loves Shadow Chronicles) obsessive behavior. The guy downloads my podcast every week and visits my blog on a regular basis. Now granted I've had some fun at his and Memo's expense. But I've gone so far as to address him directly reminding him that it's him I'm taking my shots at...giving to him the benefit of the doubt (though I do say Robotech.com mods and mention him by name)....yet he still comes.. He's also left me a love note on my blog and I quote; So how many ***** did you suck to get this standing on Macrossworld. Dumb ass!!! Seems to have it in for this place I guess...probably because he was ONE AND DONE with his podcast...(SHRUGS) He tells fans who don't agree with his views that they have OCD. He's quick to tell everyone how he has a much more "significant" life than the rest of us. Paramount Studios is quaking in their boots because of a RLAM...etc..etc and etc.... He needs to come with a set of instructions...OPEN MOUTH & INSERT FOOT HERE! NOW I see that he checked my profile here too..and so it continues... A few theories on why he's stalking people; - He runs to his keeper Kevin Mckeever to cry about how evil we are to him. - He wants us to quake in our boots by his mere presence. - He's planning to send us pamphlets titled "How Harmony Gold can save your soul, because it saved mine!" - He's one seriously disturbed individual. He keeps it up and he's going to wind up from MW to AMW (America's Most Wanted) I'll have a few things to say about his obsessive behavior on my next RandomCast. As always...I'll have fun with him! Hi all! I had to chime in on Maverick_LSC's "statements" I posted something similar on Happy Penguin's site So Mav says; (sigh and shake my head).....Where to begin? i will try to be objective....but I think it just won't happen.... Taking into consderation that Mav and his ilk spy on things here for Robotech lambs who stray away...I will address him directly.... IMHO= In My Honest Opinion....so when it's YOUR honest opinion, it is a valid one. However when others have presented you with their honest opinions about your damned Macross rights, sometimes with some extensive research of their own, they are deserving to be silenced because you feel they enjoy the "suffering of others" (I'll never get where you got that one....) Double standard, thy name is.... Paramount is possibly fearing Warner Brother's Robotech Movie impact? Have you noticed, Transformers has a two movie lead on Robotech? And what's sad, if anybody made a similar opinion saying the exact opposite on the forums you "proudly" moderate...banhammer time! Double standard again, thy name is..... And I enjoy Robotech, but to put it up to par with franchises like Star Trek and BSG? Franchises where the parent companies have made a solid effort to promote, expand, on and off screen. Harmony Gold has had almost 25 years to do that and all it resulted was in The Shadow Chronicles? Please!!!!!!!!!....(and I don't count the Live Action Movie as a result because it's not even moved past preproduction.) I do believe when one looks good at it, Robotech is a great story, but don't inflate it into something that it hasn't achieved like other franchises, some of which have been in existence less time and have a bigger following. That's insulting to the fandom. You're betting Paramount is quaking in their boots? Once again with the fantasy scenarios. You think Paramount with movie franchises like Transformers AND Star Trek at hand to promote they are really going to be concerned with a "concept" in preproduction? Something straight from the heart to you Mav....You make a better moderator than a bookie. ...OH BUT WAIT!.....You're being SERIOUS!... Here's a bet for you. Harmony Gold has put all their eggs in the Warner Brothers basket in the hopes of a Live Action Movie. If it's shelved that means they are back to the drawing board on promoting the franchise and we've seen what they can do in 20 plus years. Well...at least there's your Shadow Chronicles. (I don't include the original 85 as it seems HG has shelved that which is sad.) Of course your "bets" should be taken as gospel, being an HG acolyte and all. Anything to the contrary....well we know what happens...must cause you some sort of suffering....QUAKING IN THEIR BOOTS?...And you're trying to feed this line to the Robotech fandom? You've got to be **itting me! Robotech WILL have the upper hand on Transformers? Bold statement. Can it happen? I don't know. I'm still iffy on that it even makes it past pre production. Sure didn't give you the knowledge to think before you open your mouth. I would love to see the franchise succeed on the merits, problem is with current management, they are hard to come by! I don't know the workings of Hollywood and right now the fandom is asked to take up a culture of wait and see, with the Live Action Movie. But to make the preposterous statements like the ones quoted above is ignorant, and at the same time not being able to handle if a Robotech fan "dares" present a counterpoint is hypocritical...but look who I am talking about here? Hello Everyone! First I want to say that I really appreciate the comments about The Protoculture Times. It has been humblng the reaction I've received and all the places where people are listening to it. It was a pleasant surprise when HP told me that people here had listened and I'm glad people have enjoyed it. I'm just a guy that does a podcast about Robotech and is having the time of his life with it! I've been a fan since 1985 and have enjoyed it ever since. This podcast is a tribute to it and despite its bumps in the road, to a fandom that still enjoys it. And like I said in my Premier episode, no Macross, no Southern Cross, no Mospeada...no Robotech. I don't know why that statement is so taboo to some in the Robotech community. When it comes to the state of the franchise, the results speak for themselves. Harmony Gold in 24 years since the Original 85.......<sighs>....they are going to do what they want to do...I can only hope they do something for the 25th anniversary...in the mean time...I'll celebrate Robotech on my own! The way I look at Robotech on my show, seeing the good, the bad and ...the Shadow Chronicles, seems to have won me a label of miscreant by those who "in their minds" think that the Robotech fans are sheep in dire need to be guided by a shepherd. (i.e. Memo, Maverick). Does Harmony Gold really take these guys that seriously? Their apparent bias on the Robotech.com forums has become evident. Banning people who dare question their "HG Bible" while turning a blind eye to some pathetic little psycho that signs his posts "Death to Macross Purists!!"....WTF is that all about? These Robotech.com mods couldn't moderate an argument between a rabbit and a mule over who has big ears! That exclusionist attitude to those who like Robotech, but can point out the flaws in its management is what has turned so many old fans off. I try not to let it get to me and with my podcast, while I am very opinionated at times, fans are gonna decide how they see things, even if its to support Harmony Gold. but of their own free will. Something that seems to piss off people like Memo to no avail.....lol! I could say so much more about the subject, but I've seen others on this and other forums have said it much better than I ever could... In the end, I do my show...I'm proud of it! and am having a great time!...I'll have my detractors of course...but that's the nature of the beast...
