  1. Thanks for the pics Graham. Btw, I spotted the mini Fz-109 in the second pic. I don't suppose Wave still makes those 1/100 Fz-109 resin garage kits? I certainly would like to get a hand on that. It's been out of production for many years, but you could try PMing Blackaces or Monkey-N and asking them if the could find it for you if you really want it. Graham
  2. WD-40 is actually a solvent, not just a lubricant, so it can damage certain plastics. Graham
  3. Wave 1/100 Fz-109 resin garage kit. Bandai Fz-109 Mini-Macross Figures (to the right of the picture, can you spot them?) Graham
  4. O/T, just out of curiosity, has there been a Fz-109 valk ever produced & sold? Yes, back in 1995, Wave produced a 1/100 scale Fz-109 Battroid mode resin garage kit. And of course Bandai released the Fz-109 battroid and fighter mode non-transforming PVC 'Micro-Macross' toys. Graham

    Larger Scale VF-0

My personal preference for a perfect transformation VF-0 toy would be 1/60 scale. That would already be big enough, close to the 1/48 VF-1 in size. So, my vote is for 1/60. I think 1/48 would just be too huge. I'm already limited in the amount of display space I have and a 1/48 VF-0 in fighter mode, would probably take up nearly a whole shelf in my display cabinet. Of course, I'd still buy it in a heartbeat if Yamato made it. By the way, don't take any of the above as confirmation that a larger scale perfect transformation VF-0 is actually in the works. I'm just stating what I would like only. Graham

  7. Err........vaguely heard of it, but no idea what it's about. I'm guessing it's some sort of vampire movie, with a title like Van helsing? Graham
  8. yamato doesnt have, and woudlnt pay for the rights to mospeada, from what ive heard there is very little interest in japan for mospeada merchandise and they obviously cant market it outside japan Toynami obviously has the license for Japan as it was announced a long time ago that there will be a 'Japan' version. Larger Scale VF-0

The VF-0 is actually significantly longer than the VF-1 as this picture of the Hasegawa 1/72 scale kits from the March 2004 issue of Hobby Japan magazine shows. According to the magazine article, the Hasegawa VF-1 is 19.8cm long, whereas the VF-0S is 27.1cm long. So, if you pretend that the VF-1 in the photo below is a 1/48, you can imagine that a 1/48 VF-0 toy would take up a lot of shelf space! Graham
  10. IMO the sculpts fairly decent in Armo-Soldier mode, but I agree it has quite a few issues in Armo-Fighter mode. That being said, it's not like we have a lot of choice as far as new Legioss/Alpha toys go, so I'll probably shell out the cash for one of these. Actually, I'll probably buy one green and one blue, not sure about the red though. And I don't think I'll be buying multiples either. Graham
  11. Ughhh............. Graham
  12. The subtitles are fair. Basically, they are understandable, but quite a lot of the fine points of the story are either skipped or mistranslated and some characters are misnamed. Video quality is good on eps # 1 and # 3, put is quite poor during the action scenes on ep # 2. Graham
  13. Them be the levitating rocks for sure Graham
  14. That's a pretty inaccurate sculpt IMO. The face is definitely not accurate to the line-art and the body is far too err....voluptuous Graham
  15. Heh, heh.....agreed! And people like this toy.....why? Graham
  16. What's all this 'Transfans'. The correct name is 'Trannies' damn it G-
  17. Only seen a few eps of the TV series. Didn't like it. Those action/comedy anime are not my thing. Graham
  18. Don't you remember Space Gundam V? Still haven't seen it. I missed out on getting the DVD a while back. Graham
  19. M3 intro is just so cool IMO. I just wish they had included it on the 20th anniversery DVD Actually, even though the gameplay of M3 is poor, I still think the story would make an excellent OVA. I'd love to see VFs fighting giant bugs, especially if the battles were as well animated as in the M3 intro. Graham
  20. LOL..........yeah, I'm in the same boat. I think I got 10 or 11 'S' grades than moved on to other games. Graham

  22. As Capt America (John Moscato) mentioned earlier, those pics are obviously of a test shot, so as John said the toy shown in the pics is basically the toy we are going to get. If Toynami are at the stage where they can put out test shots, that means the tooling is complete and Toynami won't be making any major changes now. Oh we might get slightly smaller seem lines on the production toy, but that's it. As for the canopy, well I'm pretty sure that they just used the same blue plastic as the rest of the toy in the test shot and painted it a metalic blue. Maybe they just didn't have any clear plastic when they made that test shot. Actually, test shots are often just made using whatever color spare plastic the factory has laying around. I'm sure the production toy will have a clear canopy. Graham
  23. Feb issue......LOL.....heck the March issue is out already! Graham
  24. I notice that you have opened out the micro-missile ports on the FAST pack, to show the missiles.....nice Graham
  25. I think that die-cast is pretty much being abandoned except for parts where it is absolutely necessary, i.e. the 1/48 swing bar. It's not a cost issue, it's just that with die-cast parts you inevitably get paint chipping, the detail is not as sharp as on ABS parts and it's often difficult to get a perfect color match between the plastic parts and the die-cast parts. Also, many toys with die-cast parts do have balance issues. I know this forum has a lot of die-cast addicts , but I'm not one of them and personally I prefer my Macross toys plastic, with metal only where necessary for strength. Graham
