  1. That is a beautiful job!! Kudos. I like the armor piece over the nose, as I had thought about something similar. Can the armor be removed from it, and was it the 'Reactive Raiders' under all the armor? WOW!

I could picture you carrying this into Mac Aus Con and saying, 'Easy biotch's, I got this!!'

  2. Thanks to the link to E2046 http://www.e2046.com/product.php?products_id=2078 I just got mine!!

Quick delivery too, SIX DAYS from payment sent, from Honk Kong to my door!

Lovely little kit too, great detail and very little flash. Haven't pieced it together yet, someday soon hopefully. I did it on pre-order when they were out of stock, so it was a little less than sixty.

    Here are some pics.

Now I just need some canopies....

  3. What you can do is check youtube, they have a lot of Macross stuff there, along with that intro. Then just do a screen shot - or if you're like me and wonder how to do that, pick up your camera and take a picture. It wouldn't be the best, but its just reference anyway, right? Good luck.

    EDIT

This is something close, right? macross_102.jpg

And here's another. Its just before the final scene cut. ships_26.jpg

As an idea, I gather you want a picture for background, and obviously those above won't do. What you could do was use an image of the Earth from orbit as the background and build the bridge section of the SDF-1 as a partial 3D image, popping out from the picture. Then have the battroid 'floating' in front of it as the centerpiece.

  4. Those are just awesome. It makes me wonder why there are so few of the ships from Macross and other shows. They usually focus on the fighters and figures.

I hope you can do this dude, we'd all be very happy and like you loooong time!!

  5. They all look good, but the best are your SECOND and FOURTH choices and Johvic's FIRST choice. Second runners up would be your FOURTH and Johvic's FIRST, with the winner being in the Final's --- Johvic's FIRST choice!! B)):lol::p;):o:ph34r::wub:

  6. PLEASE, please tell me that you will make it available!! I will beg and plead - well I AM begging and pleading! I will put as much time into the cutting styrene to make a plastic version as you did making it in paper!!

  7. Utmost care must be taken during construction, as the builder of the prototype fractured a finger during construction.

Nah, just kidding. From what's said this was caused by something totally different... ph34r.gif

Well, that's all the updates on the sit so far. Pretty cool though... and now I'm tired. Going to bed...

  8. Awesome Super Cool!!

That is one hell of a lovely ship, whether TV or DYRL version. Both kick ass. I am nostalgic for the original, but DYRL is just BADASS!! It is burly and menacing, though again, one can't beat a Macross Attack with an ARMD. That being said, once this is made, I foresee that others will make the appropriate mod and create a pair of 8 or 12 inch carriers. Hell, MechTech is making a SIX FOOT Daedalus!! Which has me gobsmacked :blink:http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=18403

It's not a far reach to actually make the appropriate scale ships, and since the two SDF's are similar enough you can have the best of both worlds. A badass SDF-1 with a Daedelus to shove down a Zentraedi throat!!

All that being said, I'll have to pass, and not just for the price. DEAR GOD!! your talking about a $1000.00 dollars for the 'model' and shipping!! NO NO NO NON NON NON ONO NONO ONONO NONONONO NON ON NO.....

Two feet is just too big for me. I'd have no place to put it. I'll scale down and buy one of the 1/5000 ships and be extraordinarily happy. Maybe the demand will be so great for this SDF-1 that the price will drop on the 1/5000! :p

Then again, there is that lovely Macross Quarter just curling that sexy flight deck my way.... :D

  9. Easy:

Following the events of Macross Frontier episode 26, Ranka and Sheryl settle down together, both of them unable to come to grips with the fact that Alto prefers to fly rather than marry either one of them - so they just decide to marry eachother and end up exploring their fold waves together.

    Pete

I love it!! That's perfect.

    No need for anything else!

  10. So, your saying HG won after Kawamori tried to steal their idea for a super mecha show, and now they have him safely locked away in Japan where his rip-off Macross series is enjoying its only success. And HG, as absolute proof that they are the true, one and only creators came up with - the Shadow Chronicles!?!?!?

So much better to be Kawamori...

  11. Some others have mentioned using rare earth magnets within the model to help tighten it. For me, a pin-hole job is easier and steadier. I can't wait for the other VF-25s to come out! From what I figure the price of the armor pack PLUS what I paid for the original un-armored model is probably close to the full armored model.

Oh, and here the link to what I've done so far.

  12. I have the Alto Valk, though construction is on hold until the armor parts I pre-ordered come out. For that kit there are a LOT of small parts, as this is a transforming model. The whole model is made up of little bits that come together to make the larger everything! But its surprisingly easy to assemble as long as you go slow and with patience. One thing I noticed is its tendency to be a little floppy, hence my decision to add anchor points between the arms and legs and along the wing roots, though I heard the Ozma (which I also have) is of a better fit. They may have adjusted their molds to answer complaints about the Alto. And what's great, is that for most of the entire build, you don't need paint or glue!

Even half done, its a great and sexy model! I'd post a link to mine, but Photobucket isn't loading for me right now. <_<
