He was smiling.  Most likely because those people could be potential allies.

I find some of these communities to be down right silly.   Society has only collapse a few years ago and we've got all these unique groups and their wacky customs.

Well since someone else brought them up, I'll ask what group those people are supposed to be?  They're not the Whisperers...

  2. WOW thank you for doing all of that work.  I will say that if it hadn't been for the GX71 I would've picked up a Toynami unit eventually.  It may be a froppy mess, but I would say it's better than my 80's Go Lion which has served me well but it's time has passed.  Thanks again-cool poses and I didn't think that was possible from either versions...

Bah, still hadn't seen the first film. It's been sitting on my DVR for several months.

On a side note The Matrix trilogy is on AMC right and it made me think Hollywood should really revisit that franchise.

I still love the Matrix story, even with #3 included in the trilogy.  Seems like the Matrix has been all but forgotten these days, which is a shame....

I'm off tomorrow so I plan on doing more shots. Specifically comparison with Toynami's. I feel there aren't a lot of good comparison shots of those two

Awesome.  I can't wait to see the results.  My curiosity about the Toynami version has never been answered...

I too have an affinity for the original, but acknowledge it was going to be a hard design to sell to modern children. Thankfully, they didn't reinvent it as a big ball of bayformers-inspired scrap.

And there is one thing I feel is a legitimate improvement.  The red across the chest of the original lion Voltron tends to flow into the red lion and make it appear more important than the rest. I feel like removing that red from the chest removes that emphasis and makes them appear more equal.

I hear what you're saying.   I dunno though; I think the kids of today would like the original Go lion just fine.  Who knows.

Wow, good poses.  I haven't even had a chance to combine mine yet...

  6. Well, I finally got around to giving that series a watch.  So far I'm liking it story-wise; however the Voltron design itself I am not a fan of.  As usual, I think that most things from the 80's should be left as they were; there was nothing wrong with them to begin with.  Go Lion's original incarnation will always be timeless to me...

  7. Speaking of the Madkings King of Beasts, does the GX-71 make the Madkings toy obsolete?

Edit: I just checked out the Madkings toy and that thing is UGLY.  I would even take the Toynami version over that thing any day.  Someone correct me if I'm wrong...

So that would make a 1/1000 Andromeda 17.48 inches long.  That's a big Mama!;) I don't think we'll see a big 1/500 kit to go with Yamato, that would be 34.96 inches long!

    Chris

So that Andromeda toy that's up for preorder right now at AmiAmi and places like that is 17" long?

  9. Loved the originals, of which I still have, except for #3.  I liked the newer one on Xbox as well; that game definitely did the series justice.  I'm a little worried though because I can't find my NES system or my SNES Ninja Gaiden trilogy cartridge...

it does, but am i gonna buy a ps4 and psvr just to play it? Probably not. (ok maybe)

That's how most Nintendo fans are, that's how I am.  I have maybe three games for my Wii U but IMO it was worth it for those games as I couldn't get them anywhere else.  I remember buying my Sega Saturn just for DYRL and Radiant Silvergun as well...

  11. Word of caution guys, the poseable tail ends for the red and green lions comes off pretty easily.  I took green lion to dinner this evening and afterwards, as I was walking around the mall, I realized the tail-end was missing.  Luckily, when I returned to the table I found the piece under the table.  I'll be storing the tails for both red and green lions separately, for safety...
