  1. Guys(Destroidsrage)...nuclear powered Aircrafts isn't just a fantasy thing.

    and...

The reactor used in these tests was known as ASTR - the Aircraft Shield Test Reactor. It was cooled by circulation of its water moderator through heat exchangers, and produced a nominal 1 megawatt output. ASTR was installed in the NB-36H aft bomb bay in the approximate location of the full-scale P-1 reactor in order to simulate the radiation field and operational techniques of the larger propulsion reactor.

  2. Can somebody explain how a Valkyrie can fly by using nuclear powered fuel?

How a common turbofan engine works:

    A) Air is sucked in via inlets and compressed.

    B) The compressed air is mixed with liquid fuel and injected into a combustion chamber.

    C) The burning gases are then sent to the turbine and drive turbine blades.

    D) The turbine blades then causes another compressor to compact the hot gases.

    E) The flaming gas then gets sent out via exhaust nozzles and propels the aircraft.

    There's also the Helicopter/Propellor methods.

  3. You can blame Ronald Reagan for the retirement of the F-14 Tomcat. Because of Reagan's Defense spending from 1980 to 1988(Star Wars, ICBM "Peacemaker", cruise missiles, Pershing, 600 ship fleet, M1 Abrams, M2 Bradley, B-1B excalibur, B-2A Spirit, ATF program, Ohio class SSBN subs, etc)drove the Russians broke. No Cold War, no TU-95 Bears and Blackjacks for the AIM-54C Phoenix.

  4. Pssss....I haven't even ordered the 1/48 VF-1A Max yet let alone the 1S. I finally received my Low-Viz though and it's awesome! Too bad I don't have my glass case yet so I can PROPERLY display my collection. I hate those damn boxes. <_<

Stupid bills are mounting up. I want some new Valks and Transformers!

  5. A single engine attack fighter like the F-16XL isn't as appealing compared to a 2 engined aircraft like the Tornado and the F-15E "Beagle". With 2 engines, the chance of you surviving an attack from this Tunguska is greater:

  6. I agree about Warpath - they should try to do something a little less obvious than the M1A1. How about a smaller tank like the M550 Sheridan? I think that's the one that the 82nd Airborne can drop from a C-130.

I doubt we'll reach the point where we'll see Warpath, though. However, if Takara can just keep up the excellence of this line, then I'll stand right with them and buy ALL of them.

    Isn't Warpath's current design a M551 Sheridan?
