  1. The pilot is unfortunately not well done. I am really not good at human modelling.
  2. Here is my own custon using VF-1A. It is the 2500th Anniversary version. The decal is from Anasazi37 (If I remember correctly). It has been shelved for long and finally have time to complete it The pilot, of course, is the infamous Millia Jenius I have modified the leading edge of the wings, upper air intake (chest area)removed a few antennas (near the main landing gear and air brake) and adding the IR tracker. I also modified the tail section (both vertical tails) and decided to follow the MiG-29 style tail section.
  3. The transformation sequence for VAF-22 is similar to YF-21. I'll see what I can do for the RS-72
  4. RS-72 Aurora II Dimension: about the size of B-1 Function: Reconnaissance, Strike and Special Ops Insertion Modes: MLCC (Multilevel Close Combat – equivalent to Battroid) MLCC-S (MLCC – Supersonic) Atmospheric and orbital aircraft Armament: Plasma/SEL (Solar Energized Laser) cannon Speed: Mach 24 at orbital altitude (fighter mode) Mach 2.4 (MLCC-S mode) Description: A highly classified aircraft. Its very existence is openly denied throughout the decade. Unlike its predecessor, it could operate in broad daylight, thanks to its nano-engineered active thermo optic camouflage. The Aurora II could intelligently blend itself into environment, making it hard to be detected by both electronic and optic sensors. The capability of the cannon that could hit any orbital target while on the ground (MLCC mode) makes Aurora II a formidable weapon. Due to prohibitively high manufacturing cost, means that only a handful are produced. Aurora II is mostly associate with STF (Special Task Force) insertion missions, where the STF operatives could reach anywhere around the globe within 60 minutes.
  5. My created facts about VAF-22 and RS-72 Auroa II VAF-22 Super Raptor Dimension: about the size of F-22 Raptor Function: Stealth air superiority and attack aircraft Modes: MLCC (Multilevel Close Combat – equivalent to Battroid) MAEA (Mid-Air Enhanced Agility – equivalent to GERWALK) Fighter Armament: Plasma/EM (Environmental Munitions) rifle. Speed: Mach 2.4 at 10000m (fighter mode) Description: Backbone and mass produced aircraft for the country. Reliable and proven workhorse and highly praised by the pilots. Its EM rifle could turn air into ice bullet or sand into silicon ammunition in no time, making unlimited munitions supply.
  6. I also hope to see 1/48 VT-1 or VE-1, but looking at the current 1/48 design, it restrict the possibility of 1/48 VT-1 becoming reality (of, course unless Yamato is willing to make some changes in the design!).
  7. Originally posted by MechAssemble, but the topic was locked. I think the plane design is not to bad at all, so repost it here: http://movies.yahoo.com/movies/feature/stealthqt.html
  8. I doubted China would ever wanted attack Japan. If they want they could do so during their dynasties era and there would be no Japan in World War II. China beef up their military might in fear of the raise of Japan military conservatism. Once bitten twice shy, if you were attacked and have your 30,000 citizens massacred in one day, you'll always want to beef yourself up. Besides, many Chinese are getting richer. Rich men won't want war, they want money. No one wants their Ferrari get blown into pieces by bombs and bullets. The only thing Japan should fear is N.Korea. Poverty leads to instability and volatility. They might do whatever to get the money they want. I don't know about India and American relationship. I only know many jobs are moving to India.
  9. That's what I meant. I'm not saying IP law is not good. All laws begin with good intention, but the rich (the big corporation) have the resources to emploit them and make them for their own use (sometimes to against public interest). Remember individual income tax? It was originally meant for the rcih only, but now, who pay the most individual taxes? I don't want to drift this off topic. But additional $40 per model kit is really too much...
  10. In short, rich always find ways to extort poor. They have the money, we don't. They could hire the best legal consultants and lawyers, we don't. Don't be too suprise that one day the license fee is as much as 50% (or more) of the cost of a model kit. In the country I'm staying, the rent of a stall could reach 50% of your business expenditure! IP law? It meant to portect the rich. The rich will always say that if there is no IP protection, the companies will lose money and we have to lay off workers. But in real life, they lay you off anyway, because of cheaper labour in China, India and perhaps Africa next.
  11. Don't actually like the ending. The presentation is too fairy tale where it could be more 'reaslistic'. IMO the ending has demean the mechanical designs.
  12. Couldn't agree more. I've been dreaming of Hasegawa producing Macrosskits since childhood. It's a reality and I'm too happy for it. Judging the dwindling market of model kit, I could only pray hard they would come out with 1/48 kits. I'd at least get one or two.
  13. Yup! We are, I missed a few old members like TSKOH. Some active old members had become less and less active. Yup! It is. Mainly because there are more and more new anime and they come out fast to keep the heat on. Macross just come to slow, be it anime or toys; luckily we have the models to at least holding on. Sorry guys/gals, I know quality is important, but as well as timing... In view of the slowing down, could I proposed that we have dedicated sections for scratch built/kit bash and/or VF designs by fans? The aims are to encourage people to show off their imagination and ignite new enthuasism. Currently, the Fan Works section is too broadly defined and models and toys section has been restricted by the variety and availability of the models/toys. If there is less models and toys coming out, the sections will become stagnant. All in all MacrossWorld is a great place.
  14. I got those images from Tfkenkon websites to create this wallpaper. Hope you'll like it Sorry about the size though...
  15. WHOAH! Toons, that is really nice! I wish I could do that!
  16. I found a lot of Macross mecha designs in www.macross.com.cn. One of those is this VF-0B ABL. Can anyone tell that it is part of the original design or it is just a custom job?
  17. Pardon me for the resolution It is my latest Photoshop creation. SV-51 and VF-0 are having joint exercise way up high in the atmosphere
  18. Yup! Singing-saves-the-day plot has been a little bit over stretched. It has been used over 20+ years. Macross II used it and failed. M7 used it, the result is OK. Could it be one day Macross is made by having another story line and focus more on the mecha's capability and design? I really hope it will. All in all, I'm the Macross fan who like it because of its mecha design, not the singing part. I'm not saying the songs in Macross is not good. They are in fact, quite good; but if the story was 'forced' to tag along the songs, it just make the whole scene weird. If singing is a weapon, they don't need transforming mecha, they need good quality speakers that could project the song into deep space to distract the enemies and use ultra range homing missle to destroy them. All in all, IMO, M0 has a better story line. At least, the singing part incorporated appropriately to the story. And most importantly, it showcased more on the mechas' capability.
  19. Despite their story is weird and very hard to follow or understand, one thing they did best in each episode: They showcased the jets' ability and design! If one loves mechanics much, he/she will love the shows. Personally, I love their design very much. It just that the crap story line did kill some interest of the show overall. One thing that is very unfortunate is that the models comes too slow, too few variety and too expensive for such a great design. I could see that Yukikaze is an one-off series that could hardly have any continuity.
  20. Yes, I agree with 1/1 Lowviz Lurker. The stories, if possible, make it something like Mospeada. The war, the struggle and occasional jokes. I don't mind the music, pop or not, it should follow the environment and situation (not the other way round). All in all, the target audience or many of the original Macross fans have grown up.
  21. Yeah, I want to see something more than 5 episodes and the period of waiting between each episode dramatically cut down. And definitely not a person that has not seen a mecha before but able to pilot it without problem, unless the series or movies are targeted for 13 years old and below.
  22. Yes, there was a long wait between the early 80's and early 90's. Since the Yamato YF-19, the momentum was getting ahead, but how long did it last? Yamato 1/48 VF-1 is marvelous achievement and it is our dream come true. But since then, 1/48 line are mostly re-color. Many members had voiced out that it had oversaturated the market. The price for 1/48 in some shops has gone as low as US$85.00 ( I bought one then )! Macross Zero has long been released and it is almost reaching the end of the series, yet the first transforming toy of the series is not even on the market (though it's coming - but without a confirmed date)! Luckily, Hasegawa did save some of the days with their models line-up. Otherwise, Macross Zero could more or less like the Supersylph Yukikaze. I happened to talk to an old Macrossworld member some times ago. He used to be a great Macross sellers, but now his shop is full of Gundam, Transformers and other anime stuff. He just told me plainly that he can't survive for long if he only sells Macross as he used to be. Before the re-issue and the Yamato line, he was able to cut many deals as the original items could fetch a very good price. With the new Macross items and re-issues, the price of the original items drops dramatically and YET the new product variety is too limited and it usually did not come in conjunction with the series and there are always delay. Though the Hasegawa models did help out but it is not as widely accepted as toys. I'm giving my perspective of Macross as a brand and marketing view. Having new items and re-issues are good for the general public as it makes Macross items more affordable. But irregular launch date without synchronisation with promotional media (tv series, movies, etc) and limited product variety, one is killing the distribution line. And thus it also kill the most effective way to keep up the interest - mouth to mouth recommendation and the brand name. Of course, Macross won't just disappear, it may resurrect from time to time. But if, each resurrection has smaller fan base, it is really not good for long. My wife used to stay in the most rural area when she was a child. She had then heard and seen Transformers and Gundam before, but sadly not Macross. I really hope there is something could be done to maintain the interest and brand name of Macross.
