  1. Hi, I'm totally new to macross kits... but I love that custom! (I thought about customizing a 1/48 toy... but I guess building a kit is more fun... and a kit might look better...) Is there anything close to that? Or is there at least somehting like a decent VF-1S Strike in Battroid mode... 1/72 or higher scale? (Doesn't have to be... or rather should not be transformable... if I want to play, I can use my Yamatos... )

$im@n posted in his pics one of an open box: (I hope You don't mind me posting this picture, $im@n.)
  3. I can't speak for the French, but here in Germany I haven't seen a single Yamato... In fact, the only time I've seen a Valk was almost 20 years ago in elementary school... I was nine and some kid, whose father had been on a buisness trip to japan, brought one to shool. And I thought: "Hell, that's a stupid Transformer!" Most stores here have little to none Macross, like some (comic?) books but no Valks, it's even hard to find Macross DVDs - that's why I have to stick to dodgy eBay or some other internet based shops (and pay tremendous amounts for shipping).

It's fine with me... I like 'em big! Ah... I can't wait until my GBP arrives...

    My First 1/48

They are worth it! I planned on buying some 1/60 (because they are cheaper and still look great). After I got my 1/60 Max and Miria 1J Super and an Ostrich, I decided to buy a single 1/48 (had to be a Hikaru 1J Super to match Max and Miria) to be the highlight of my small "collection"... Now I'm waiting for my second 1/48 to arrive - and guess what, it's a 1J Super (Miria) again. I simply couldn't resist! (But I think I'm going to stop buying Yamatos as soon as Max and Miria are united as 1/48 again... and maybe after getting an Elintseeker... as long as they don't release some Destroids or other cuties... ) I kinda regret buying the 1/60 (but only slightly), though they'll still make a great display when my 1J GBP arrives! Personally I think Valks without FPs look too skinny... except for fighter mode, which looks good without FP, too.
  6. That's just the background sheet that came with the box... but I did a little bit Photoshop on it. (Otherwise it would have been too small and you could have spotted the edges and lines where it has been folded. There where some very shiny spots and reflections too, so I had to get rid of those as well.) But thanks, I think it looks good, too. I'll have to do something like this for displaying my Yammies. I'm not very good at doing airbrush, but I guess I could manage to do something like a blurred cloudy sky...
  7. It's only 1/60... and I need to do panel lines... and get some decent decals... ah well, here we go:

    Custom Enigma VF-1J

Well, that are both possible translations, but they are very loose. Since "Du doch nicht!" is not a complete sentence it can mean a lot of things... Literally translated it can be anything from "But not You!" to "Definetly not You!" Talking about cockiness, anyone remember SAAB? The lines on that experimental fighter: "Abandon all hope!"

    Custom Enigma VF-1J

"doch" can be translated in several ways depending on the context. Could be "however" or "nevertheless". Having no context here, but just that short phrase, I'd say it is just used to emphasize the exclamation: "Not You!" Btw. that Enigma looks really great! I never had the skills to paint my models to look good. 6 aka Matt
  10. I'm new to MW and Macross toys, but I bought a Tomahawk of that series. I know it's Your review, but if You don't mind, I'll give it a try... Action Figure Type Destroid Tomahawk (MBR-04-MkIV) Thirteen points of articulation - not as much as the armored VF-1J, but only two are missile pod covers. (14 points if you count the head, which is attached to the torso by a pin.) Just like the VF-1J it's capable of striking some impressive poses. (Ranging from a stiff BattleTech Warhammer stance to some nice Anime battle pose.) The paint job is done really well, including some nice worn/dirt effects. (Though I don't have any reference here, I just think it looks awsome!) A+

    Which 1/48 first...?

Thanks again. As I said in some other thread, I'm currently waiting for my 1/48 VF-1J Super to arrive! Plus an 1/60 Ostrich I got quite "cheap"... I think I'm going to buy an 1/60 Elintseeker as well, but I just don't know whether to get me a 1/60 VF-1J Super Max to accompany my 1/60 VF-1J Super Miria, or to wait and get them both in 1/48 (if I can afford that)?! @eming: I'll do some research before transforming... It was fun to figure out how the 1/60's transformation works - though it took me some time!
  12. Ah well... There are only a few complaints about the packing and there are several saying "good packing". The item descripition says MISB, so I'll stick to my faith believing I will recieve a nicely package containing my new Valk! I haven't found a shop near my home to just pick up a Valk, so I'll have to stick with what I can get... (In fact I haven't seen a Yamato Valk anywhere on a shelf before. Not even in the Manga/Anime/comic book/action figure shops around here... some even didn't have any Macross at all!) That was just the best/cheapest offer I could find! I'm not promoting this seller... I just gave it a try and bought one. I'll let You know when I recieve my crushed Valk in shredded bubble wrap. EDIT: Typos... though there still may be some left.
  13. Will there be a red 1/48 Miria VF-1J Super? I love the 1/60 that I've got...
  14. I bought one MBR-04-MkIV and I'm very pleased. I only regret not buying the complete set (5 figures) for just a few dollars more. But those figures are a little bit to big to fit BattleTech HexBases... (At least the MBR is... but I think the others may differ only slightly in size.) Is it $25 for a complete set, including shipping? 'Cause there are some sets for less on eBay. (Search for "K&M Macross".) EDIT: Too bad I don't have a Warhammer here right now for size comparison...
  15. Well... it's $U.S. 129.99 + 30.00 for shipping (worldwide from Honkong)... Found that one on eBay... there are two left. But I don't know if the seller is trustworthy... everything seems to be alright up to now. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...&category=16467
