Super Dimensional Seminar ends with a bang

Monday the 24th of December, 2012, marked the end of the “Super Dimension Seminar” series of introductory “lectures” into the Macross universe with its 26th and final episode.

This one featured a look back at 2012 and how it shaped up to be one of the most active years in the brand’s history with special Macross events touring the nation in many forms, often simultaneously.

Some of the more interesting footage involved the making of the 1/1 scale VF-25 Messiah Valkyrie, although a lot of that had been seen in the previously aired “The Men Who Made Macross” special earlier in 2012.

After giving a rundown of the events such as the Gengaten, the Design, the Musicalture, the Caravan, Tokyo Dome City, etc., Chibi Sheryl introduces us to the current “FB7: Ore no uta wo kike!” wave and the up-and-coming stuff such as a preview of the new “Macross 30: Ginga wo tsunagu utagoe” game.  From the latter segment, someone has been kind enough to upload to Youtube a clip of Kawamori-sensei guiding us through the transformation system of the new Valkyrie, the YF-30 Chronos, with the help of Lego and sticky tape.

More images from the show follow, including one showing the reason why the life-size Sheryl, Minmay and Ranka mannequins have those “Do not take low angle photos” signs next to them.  It seems even the great Hory Froating Head is just a regular flesh-and-blood guy after all.

2012 was an awesome Macross year.  Let’s hope 2013 is even better!
