I'm still waiting for the HOLODECK, as Comic Book Guy once stated something along the lines of "an hour on the holodeck with seven of nine." A company, inspired by the original series Tricorder, actually built a functional scientific instrument package in a housing similar in appearance and design to the Tricorder.
