Macross TV series

Hi there

I was just wondering about the differences between the Macross TV series and Robotech.

I own the complete Robotech DVD collection and also the Macross DYRL Perfect Edition Movie.

The animation on the DYRL movie is amazing but I do prefer the Robotech or TV uniforms as well as the Robotech Zentraedi. The movie version Zentraedi is not to my liking.

Just my opinion though. I am sking this because I am considering getting the Macross TV DVD's. Are the stories very different?

If I won Robotech already should I bte them? Are they available in English?

Any advise appreciated.
