Mods close when done

anyway

I was watching Yami to Boushi to hon no tabibito

when I reached the 10th Episode, DivX player went on the fritz and only gave me

distorted image

BSPlayer and Windows Media Player went in error and closed down

same with Ep 11, 12 and 13

I installed probably every codec pack I could find the past few months

(Nemo, Tsunami, Kazaa, Ffdshow)

so I'm kind of stumped,... but I definatly want to see the end of this series

(already started downloading the last 4 Eps,...just to make sure)

could you guys offer any solutions or point me in the right direction?

Don't download so many codec packs...it could kill your codecs as so many filters/codecs are used to decode the same thing that you're not sure what you're using to decode a particular file. All you really need to watch are:

1.) ffdshow for all things Divx and Xvid

2.) ogg codec to watch all ogm stuff

3.) Matroska to watch all .mkv (can be .avi as well)

4.) Vobsub to watch anything that has a subtitle track

or just uninstall everything, and download the gamr codec pack which is basically everything I showed above...and more.

Codec packs are probably the worst things you can install to play something. If you're playing a file that more than one codec covers, the computer can start to freak out.

When people have problems like this, I usually reccommend they uninstall all their codecs (especially codec packs) and install ffdshow ( http://sourceforge.net/projects/ffdshow ). It's a single filter that will handle most codecs that anime is encoded in.

There's a good pinned thread over at AnimeSuki that is helpful if you're trying to watch something that ffdshow doesn't cover (like .mkv or .ogg/.ogm files): http://forums.animesuki.com/showthread.php?t=175
