I'm doing a 1/55 chunky Ranka Guard and could use some advice. It's basically a minmay guard moon act, with ranka switched in instead of minmay, and a few other minor changes. So, I need a shot of her for the chest plate, and one for the leg.
I've got a few pics I could use, but was wondering if anyone else had any pics that they thought might work.
These were the ones I was thinking about using.
Thanks for any help!

Flexidisplay stands. I don't own any, but they look really cool. You can get them from LAF Toys.

I can't give you enough thanks for posting these

That is one ugly looking paint scheme.

Sorry to hear about your troubles. I've never panel lined any of my Yamatos. Does everyone disassemble them before doing the lining? I want to try but I'm worried that I'll never get my 1/48 or 1/60 back together again.

Thanks for the pics. I really want to see what one of these looks like panel lined.

I can never find anyone on Yahoo Japan auctions that is willing to ship outside of Japan. I also have to register my old japanese address. Does anyone else have the same problems?
Go herehttp://auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/0-category.html
Use the following key words to search in
マクロス : Macross
ステッカー : Sticker
シール : Seal
デカール : Decal
You might find something interesting.
Good luck hunting.

My girlfriend keeps telling me I shouldn't get so excited over "toy robot photos", but I can't help it. Those are beautiful.
MORE PHOTOS with varied lighting!

Does anyone have any spare 1/55 chunky heads? I'm really looking for VF-1A heads, but J would be great too. Any condition is fine. Let me know if you have any and maybe we can work out a deal.

I'm in lawrence, ks. It's good to hear I'm not the only Macross fanatic in the area. All my friends think I'm nuts because of my hobby. RCJHKU

I own neither, but my vote is for the armored VF-0S. So sexy

Looking good. Can't wait to see how those missiles turn out

those are all sorts of awesomeness

That looks sweet, I love the color. What color did you use for the FP?

I'm a HUGE fan of the Chunky. I think you did a great job there mate!
Thanks, I can't get enough of the chunkies either.

I've always liked the VF-1D paint scheme but have never been lucky enough to own one. So, I painted up one of my chunkies in a 1D inspired theme. I obviously wasn't trying to stay too close to the actual design from the show, just wanted something similar. I'll take some more pics later if he can actually transform to battroid mode.
I just noticed the seat in the cockpit is sitting up kinda high, but that will have to wait until later to fix
edit: battroid pics updated

Thanks for the help guys, but could someone point me in the direction of a review of a version 2 then? I didn't see anything on the main site.
Try this:

Nice looking canopy. I'm going to have to try that.

I am a junior in KU
Small world, I'm in grad school at KU right now
Now if my classes would only stop getting in the way of my valks And that VF-22S looks sick with the that paint scheme.

I like to clean up my house, or work room, so that the only mess left is my sprawled out pile of half finished valk parts. This only works if the project isn't too big though.

I'm visiting family in the LA area over Christmas. Does anyone know where a good shop to pick up Macross toys is in the area?
-
I sent them some emails a month ago and never got a reply.
Good luck.

OK, let me start off by saying that I am an idiot. I have been collecting Macross toys for less than a year, and customizing them for only a fraction of that.
I have been haphazardly applying coats of paint to my toys, completely oblivious to any differences in types of paint. I just checked my paints and custom chunkies, and it appears that I have sprayed lacquer, over both enamel and acrylic paints. The toys seem to be fine so far though.
Some of them I coated in future before the lacquer and some of them I did not. I'll have to be a bit more careful in the future.

Thats a good one. I was hoping for one where I could see her whole body. Something that could extend down the length of the leg.
