Wasn't that announced like 2 years ago?

I'd pretty much given up on it already and assumed it was cancelled.

Since they unveiled a preliminary valk sketch last October, have an tie-in image single dropping this month, and it’s been mentioned on the Speakerpodcast how production is progressing, I’m not too sure where you’d get that impression from.
    Fortunately, it’s still happening :-)

  2. Well Kawamori did say on television just a little under a year ago that he had concept for a Macross 7 sequel that he was interested in doing. Which would make sense given how Basara is the 2nd most popular character in the entire franchise.
Will he actually do it though? Personally, I doubt it. But the hope that Fire Bomber will return to our screens one day springs eternal :-)

Dunno, if you ask me, it is just a shame for original trio to be completely gone forever, especially since they weren't around since 80s, if we only talk about anime.

Plus, even after all this time, they are still the most iconic characters in franchise, not counting major supporting ones.

I mean, sure, their fate kind of seems bittersweet, romantic, and mysterious, but maybe something could be done with the whole center of galaxy, black hole thing, like where they ended up in the future, or rather current time of next main series.

    ...

But then again, their story IS concluded, but being around as supporting cast, with maybe Minmay finding someone for herself...

    Damn it.

    Iconic, yes.
    MOST iconic? No.
A sequel to Frontier or 7 would make more sense financially, and of the two, Kawamori has said that he does have an idea for the latter.

(Although it’s equally unlikely that anything will come of that either, in my opinion)

    Looking forward to this!

Also when will the front page be updated? Content is 2 years old?

    Hope you enjoy it!

Unfortunately the front page has been under new management for several years now so you’ll have to ask the MW admins. After discussions with the owner of MW, it was decided that our content be moved over to decultureshock.com along with the cast. Some of the bugs are still being worked out but hopefully you can find anything you’re looking for there :-)

Hi, in the last podcast when you guys are discussing about the eve of war short, something was said along the lines of Itano ¿Criticizing? the franchise in previous interviews. I remember that in another episode Gwyn was comenting con the Plus blu ray and noted how Itano was constantly cursing and complaining. Is Itano actually critic with the franchise or is it just a misunderstanding on my part?

Thanks for keeping up with the good work guys. I hope I can sometige get my hands on those extra contents, Itano bringing back the grit into macross seems something quite interesting.

While Renato can speak to this better than I can, since he has worked with the man, it’s my understanding that Itano-san is very vocal whenever it comes to any criticisms he may have. He has gone on record with disagreeing with several elements of Macross though (and even declared that a 5-second cut he did for Macross Plus also almost made him swear off animating by hand ever again. Almost. ;-)

Nice one! Very cool. It's great to hear LEGO acknowledging Kawamori san's design work  and inspiration . I'd love for him to design an official lego product. One question. The YF-30 design has the Walkure Live!!!!!! Placard as well.. Why?

Because the 31, which appears in Zettai Live!!!!!! is derived from the 30 - any excuse to sneak in a promotion for the new movie ;-)

  6. During tonight’s 3rd Anniversary live stream for Macross Won’t Stop, a new Walkure single (an “image song” leading up to the eventual release of the new Zettai Live!!!!!! movie) was announced.
Titled “The future belongs to women”, the new single will go on sale on May 27 and include 2 new songs and 1 remix. The first run of the single will include footage of Walkure’s performance at last year’s Flying Dog Festival.
A free mini-concert to promote the single will be held at Hankyu Nishinomiya Gardens in Osaka on April 26.

Wow. I just have to say. At a glance . This Wonder Fest could be happening decades ago. (it's probably always that way).  Their still pumping out all the old favorites. Even Starship Troopers. It's nice to see the new VF-4 coming, lots of love for that bird! Love the Plamax Mirage figure, don't really care about the fuselage, lol. Also, what scale is that VF-14? 1/100? The Klang Aoshima is very cool , but a bit off putting with the little Klang  face (it seems) and the BIG Klang boobs, lol. Also, must say, the Minmay in button shirt and slippers is just awkward! OMG.. i was happy to see some Gunhead love too. Many cool and exciting things to come. Thanks again:good:

BYW.. whats this?? I really want two of them! 1FFC1F41-D84E-4781-8E6C-263251183127.jpeg.d5e9c2bd620e8afd7d09a3a021fcb1ba.jpeg

I have to admit, that impression is probably due to our own coverage bias ^^; There’s too many products to take pictures of overall and we tend to focus on the niche stuff that either we’re interested in or else think will be of interest to ppl that visit decultureshock. Wonder Festival encompasses 8 convention halls and what we cover is but a fraction of that :-)

That particular kit is a fan creation, I think. It caught my attention due to looking like a cross between Einhander and Metal Gear :-)

  8. To answer some questions:

→The new animated content on the disc clocks in at approx. 15mins.
→The event on the 14th is a live audience broadcast of Macross Won’t Stop as well as (I think) a screening of a bit of the bluray.
→The greater amount of content on the disc is not really similar to the 20th Ann. disc and is more like a 3hr long episode of Macross Won’t Stop.

How much of the content on disc is subtitled?

I don't want to go out and assume 100% simply because of members of the SpeakerPodcast might have been involved in the production.

The disc does not contain subtitles because the bulk of it is ad-libbed talks and games.
The animated bonus materials do not have anything in them that would require subtitles as far as I remember.

  10. The bonus (animation) footage takes up 10-15 mins of the discs total runtime.
Eve of War is significantly changed from its original version according to Ichiro Itano recently.
The remaining 3hrs is the cast of Macross Won’t Stop getting up to various shenanigans.

Hopefully ppl will refrain from posting the content of the disc online, given the effort that went into many of the shorts included.
