  1. I have both the 31JKai and DXYF-19. The Kai is just a repaint of the 31j, with four reaction missiles included. The YF-19 is a slightly reworked 19Advance, with a lot of different ordinances plus the fold booster pack.

The 31Kai was shown only in one episode of Delta, and was not shown in the Movie. The 19 is of course the main hero valk in Plus.

Between the two, disregarding the toys' engineering, the obvious choice for me is the 19. :)

  2. Got my YF-19 from Amiami yesterday! Did a quick check, and my copy's antenna is unbroken. Woot!

Haven't had time to check anything else though. Will check the tail fins to see if their mounting points are misaligned.

+1 on Bandai making a DX YF-21 to go along with this. :)

Still no shipping notice from CDJapan either... but at this rate it's all but assured it will arrive on the same day as my in-laws so I'm going to have to wait a while before I get to play with my shiny new toy :(

  4. Anybody get a payment notification from Amiami yet? My lone pre-order for the DX YF-19 is with them, and I'm getting worried that they haven't asked for payment yet, considering this will be released in a couple of days.

Are we still confused about this?  There's no mold re-use here; the "Nano Weapon Set" is just that, a set of option parts for use with the Mk. 50 (sold separately).

Note the disclaimer at the top of each pic.

If my Nihongo serves me right, the disclaimer says something to the effect of: "items pictured that are not part of the Iron Man Mark 50 Nano Weapons Set (Avengers Infinity War) are sold separately".

Take note that the disclaimer is only made in the pics where parts are mixed and matched with the Iron Man Mark 50 first release. The pics where the Mark 50 is shown wearing the backpack, double swords, and modified leg armors does not show the disclaimer.

Also, there are no pics showing the nano parts detached, which Bandai normally shows for products that are meant to supplement a separate product.

Finally, a quick translation by Google on the Tamashii product page of the contents of the package says as follows:

Main product content · Iron Man Mark 50 body (wing, both hands, both feet are attached with weapons)
     · Complete set

Hence, it's my reasonable assumption that the Nano-weapons set DOES come with another Mark 50, except with different lower legs, thus the asking price.

For the price, I also would have liked to for Bandai to have included more of the nano weapons shown in the movie (i.e. the shield, battering rams, repulsor beam amplifying funnels, and other variations of the nano swords), just like the Hot Toys version, instead of paying for another Mark 50 figure. I'm thinking that Bandai is probably considering releasing a third variant of the Mark 50, packaged with the other nano weapons, just to...you know...make more money?

  6. Saw the movie. Overall, it was....meh. Storywise, the Frontier Movies were superior. Action was okay (better than the TV series overall), and the footage of the Armored Siegfrieds is some good, although familiar, eye-candy. (Can't shake the feeling that they've re-purposed some animation from Ozma's Armored Messiah).

    Spoiler

Disappointed that they didn't show Hayate's VF-3JKai in the final battle. Not impressed by the Siegfried Draken combination. Felt too contrived as a means to re-sell the DX VF-31F mold.

I hope they make an announcement for the armored parts soon!
