  1. I would sooner accept a younger clone of Palpatine returning......I'm sure we will keep reading about all sorts of rumors that prove to be false all the way up to the release....so too soon to panic I say....

    Agree.

After all those years of plotting, I would think Palpatine would have created a Plan "X" scenario where Luke would have been successful at turning Vader and both going after him together....thus the doomsday scenario where both manage to "defeat" the emperor....but not really defeat "him"....

Sounds like the obvious formula to the sequel in a ever small universe. You know, 200 million star systems in the Galaxy, but it's the same four planets and the cast of 10... erh, and their clones.

  2. Early versions of scripts and even synopsis of films are pretty useless. ON PAPER, a lot of films can be made to look great. I read an accurate synopsis for Star Trek:First Contact before it came out and I thought it sounded like a great film. My opinion changed quickly once I saw it. I think that this film was going to be a stuff up one way or another.

It also comes down to how the director translates it along with the editing team and the music. Remember the documentary about the original cut of SW, and was saved by the editing and score.

  3. Very true. Even less popular figs like the Appleseed ones can be easily resold for the same price as retail.

    Appleseed HT start at $400!

In fact, someone was willing to buy my Bat-pod at a 25% higher price than retail. I turned him down because it's hard to get another one at this time. I could have pre-ordered two or three, and made a quick profit from them. Sadly, my inner conscience would never allow me to make money off of scalping. I'm just too muc hof a nice guy for my own good. :p

I agree there with the scalping business. It's denying someone else for a cheap buck.

  4. Like I said, canceling my pre-order is not an option for me, so I'll just enjoy DX12 for what it is--a nice-looking statue.

Yeah I know, look at the bright side, a year down the line you'll be able to sell it for double the price. The true benefit of hot licensed HT figures, is that they're more valuble than gold. No jokes. Better investment.

I think they're on par with Valks.

  5. You mean there's actual padding inside the suit that hinders the legs from lifting upwards?

Apparently, like multiple layers? Haven't come across anyone tempting to take it apart that far, though some are moding the neck shorter to compliment the small cowelled head, but worsening the profile where the neck is too thick.

That said, I so expect HT bringing out a Trilogy Edition. Will include Begins and the TDK version, and all the extras from the three films. It will also be their excuse for redemption by fixing all the issues with this release.

  6. Sadly, they were completely blown away when told that there's a flesh and blood creature inside of EVA... makes me wonder what they were watching; doesn't the flesh and blood interior of the EVA make an appearance in the rebuild movies?!?

    It does.

  7. I kept on telling myself Episode I was fantastic, loved it... but I was only lying to myself like the true fanboy I was at the time. Then by Episode II with the whole boring city chase, the rolling on a green hill, awakened a hatred for the Prequels, one I had not felt since ROTJ.

  8. I'm really starting to hate HT for this DX12 debacle. According to sideshowcollectors.com, the damn figure can't even sit properly on the bat-pod. The only Batman that can pull off a decent pose is the first TDK fig HT ever released.

Yip, it's sad. Apparently the padding within the suit locks the hip area. It's like people paid $280 for an articulated doll, that isn't very articulated. Might as well buy Kotobukiya's 1/6 PVC statue of TDK.

  9. I've never seen any SH Figuarts monsters in person, nor much interest till this and the Eva Angels to follow them on the net.

It's just silly to make it that small if there aren't any plans for Valks in it's scale and quality.

  10. It's back on sale at HLJ again. What's going on?

Either people cancelling their orders, or HLJ getting a daily bump from Yamato?

The super-huge Macross fans, of which this page is full of, yeah we're all excited. In the world at large, the likelihood is much smaller others are as excited. We could be wrong. The VF-4 seems to be a favorite of model builders so it's possible a lot of people who want to customize this (which has an easily customizable scheme out of the box) could come out of the woodwork. I doubt it though. They're planning on low-turn out for it.

Well, here's hoping it succeeds in sales, if it hasn't already, so future reissues will be more affordable...
