  1. ... I'm too am keen in seeing pics ... Though this means the line up for the new 1/60 is thus far 1S Roy, 1A Hikaru, and now the 1D ... Hmmm WTF is the 1J?

Though I'm already hoping for a low vis or stealth 1J...

  2. *Looks at grammar and tries to understand context.*

    1. DYRL or Do you remember love is a fictional movie about Space War 1 in the Macross continuity.

    2. Macross 7 occurs 5 years after Macross Plus. One of the Macross colony fleets Macross 7 encounters a mysterious enemy, the Protodevlin. The main protagonist is Nekki Basara, a rock singer, whose power of song ended the war with the Protodevlin and saved the galaxy from destruction.

Ozma Lee, SMS Skull Squadron leader is a fan of Nekki Basara/Fire Bomber fan. Sound speakers concept which was first used in Macross 7 was also used in the last episode.

    3. Megaroad is the class designation for the original city ships built after Space War 1. The most famous of these is the missing Megaroad 1 which contains the Space War 1 heroes Hikaru, Misa and Minmay.

Of the Megaroad class at most 30 where built till the the New Macross Class fleets became standard.

Now this is awesome info. At last this thread and the one of Episode 12 are starting to register. LOL

Many sorries for the weak grammar. Only noticed now how I mixed up 'since' with 'sense'.

    Thanks again.

  3. OK, some help here.

I've only seen, Macross, Macross 2, Plus, Zero, and now this Frontier.

Is there something in Macross 7 and DYRL that is affecting Frontier and is not making since to me now? Example, what is Megaroad, and what is meant that DYRL was filmed on a set? ? ?

  4. I wish I knew what Valk Alto was gonna ultimately end up with. I'm betting either Ozma's or another S-type with his red colors like in DYRL?.

    -Kyp

So the numbers are on that Alto will get a new Valk, and Ozma goes like Focker?

Is there really belief that Frontier will follow Macross's seam?

Damn, there goes hoping Ranka gets eaten by a Zentradi.

  5. I consider Ozma and Roy's to be the same scheme. Close enough. (I mean, Ozma's was clearly DESIGNED to look like Roy's, it's not sheer coincidence, just like Mikhail's looks like Max's and Alto's looks like Hikaru's)

Agree fully, and with what Graham said bout Luca...

Heck, even the pilots personalities are almost the same. Ozma the leader, Mikhail the precise and collective one, whilst Alto has complex emotions and is reckless.

Though Luca is far from being loud and fat... Guess there's a chance of a Kakizaki reincarnation appearing in a sandy yellow Vf25 soon?

  6. I didn't feel the need to mention him. :) Of course, if Sheryl attends a few more pilot classes, she could get a pink valk or something. Best though would be Nanase in a purple one...

Dunno why, but I like the idea of a pink VF25... :)

  7. I'm so miff they don't come FPs... Which means then the FB set will become individual sets cause of the extra bits and colour coding, meaning I'll be paying more for the shipping at the end of the day for ordering the FB seperately for each valk... F***-U corporate world!!!

Anyway, which is better BBTS or HLJ?

For me at the end doesn't make much difference in shipping as living in South Africa means shipping will be the same. However with HLJ I get my stuff in 3 to 4 days, and the insurance is tops...

Whats your guys view on this?

  8. Its starting to look better and better, I think pick up both of them instead of one only ^_^ .

I feel the same. And now I'm even down to the idea of getting these two, and not the new 1/60 until the 1J is out... :)

I'm falling more in love with this VF-25...

PS, Hot avatar... Who is she?

  9. well, i want michel's valk too. but this is bandai, and it seems for every couple of new gundams they release a new zeon mech.

they're probably thinking enemy mechs would have better sales near the start of the toyline rather than towards the end where only the completists would get them. they've even prototyped the red vajra already (although not sure if that's a 1/60 toy or a 1/72 model).

regardless of the release order, my interest would be more on bandai producing the whole lot. yes, including the koenig and the quarter ^_^

Then again, Bandai does tend to release it's products at a faster pace... though I don't care. Michel next, then I pretty much don't care what follows... :) Alright, Qaud with Klan would be perfect afterwards. :)

  10. What would be cool is if they could design the Armor pack as an accessory that would fit on the VF-1 body; somehow maintaining the posability of the original. But honestly, I don't see that working. Really though, even in SDFM, the armored 1J lumbered around like Randy anyway.

I think they should release a VF-1 Brownie. I'd spring for 1 more of those...

Good point about the Armoured 1J. In my view, I think they'll for a new sculpt, where unfortunately the parts won't be removable.

As for a Vf-1 Cannon Fodder, I expect it to be a limited edition, just as were the Max and Miriya! I'm still soar about not being able to get a Miriya...

  11. Possible future Revo Macross

Well considering how the VF-1 & Regult bare a striking resemblence in style to the Kaiyodo/CM Gashpons of a few years back, and seeing that they've made the VF and Regult, I can guess we can expect the Destroid and 1J with Armour as they also appeared in that line.

Then again, just about everything of Patlabor, and all the Eva's have been fullfilled in the Revo line-up, so I guess we should see plenty more Macross Revos.

I know that the next Revo is the new Mech from Full Metal Panic 3... Which is ok, lots of extra pieces, but the new design doesn't do it for me.

I came across a rumour on another forum, that Macross Zero might also be slated soon for Revo tech... :)

  12. So I'm really digging the revoltech 19, but the one thing that still bugs me is the fast pack color. So here's my question:

What would be the best method for painting them? The plastic is kinda rubbery, I think you'd need a certain type of paint. Also, I'm wondering if I should prep the pieces before painting, or just slap some primer on and go from there.

    Your opinions please. Thank you.

If you're planning to use oil based paints like Enamel, remember to apply two gently coats of Matt white, which will allow the grey paint to be absorb.

PVC is rubber, which is oil based, so the paint won't be absorbed and won't dry properly without a premier coat.

Though I would suggest acrylic paint instead of Enamel, but still apply a base Matt coat first.

I also suggest to first test on a small area, like on the inside of the legs fast packs, and see how the PVC reacts to the paint after a good 24 hour drying period.

Now there are some other cons. Like Emamel does have a minimal stretch resitence if the piece is bent. Whilst in certain cases arcylic might form cracks, and might chip.

Best thing, go to a hobby shop and ask for the best quality acylic that is chip and crack resistence.
