Which episode DIDN'T have Macross II music? Flaschakaya singing the MII Image Song, The Jamming Birds singing Wendy Ryder's Valkyrie song, various background music tucked in here and there...pick any random episode of 7 and you'll probably hear II or Plus music in it...

Well if that's the case then Macross 7 might be worth watching again.

That is what they say, but he been sneaking it in ever since. Hell, we even had Macross II music show up in Macross 7.

WAIT A MINUTE! THERE WAS MACROSS II MUSIC IN MACROSS 7?? WHEN? WHERE? WHAT EPISODE??

This episode was sooo good that it brought tears to my eyes..TEARS!! This was 100 percent old school macross goodness that I have been waiting on since Macross 2! While I am sure that was not Breeti, Exedore, and Kyron (sorry for the Robotech names) it was still good to see them no matter how the writers explain them being there! Also the appearence of the SDF-1 at the end, plus the DRYL song playing with original Macross ending (except the VF 27 instead of Hikaru's fan jet)

made this episode my all time favorite!! Ranka is so hot, she makes the Zentradis' nose bleed!! I glad to see Ranka save the day, and Sheryl take a back seat for a change. I've never liked her and probably won't, although having her fall ill does change my attitude toward her (a little).

Notice how the Armor resembles that of the TV show, but on the other hand the rifle muzzles are just like those from DYRL...

Yes, there does seem to be a mixing of the original Macross and the movie, however I think this is done for the fans.

We are always looking for something that connects Macross Frontier with Macross, so I think they put these little "easter

eggs" in as some sort of 'nod' or 'wink' to the fans.

Being an "old school" Battlestar Galactica fan, I have only seen a few epiosdes, but was anybody really "surprised" that earth looked like the end of the original Planet of the Apes? I almost expected to see the head of the Statue of Liberty laying on the beach.

On this question, I am torn between two episodes. I loved episode 1 the "Deculture edition" and episode 4 "Miss Macross".

Being an "older" macross fan (age 39), I guess any episode that pays homage to the original Macross becomes my favorite.

I guess between those two episodes I will have to say Miss Macross is my favorite. Listening to Ranka sing "My boyfriend is

a pilot" while Alto was flying around, really got me liking Macross F!!

I find it interesting that everyone thinks it's a great coda to the original series.

When my friends and I first saw it twenty years ago, none of us knew that it was the ending...instead, we all figured it was a teaser for an upcoming sequel. We kept waiting...and waiting...

(And then Macross II came out, and we were all like . And then we all went . And then we were totally . And finally, we were all . But that's a different story, I guess...)

I could not have said it better myself!!!

I can say that beyond a shodow of a doubt that I dislike Macross 7 more than Macross 2. The reason I believe, that many feel the same way has to do with expectations; We expected something and we were disapointed with what we recieved.

In the beginning we had Macross. Then we moved on to DYRL, and onto Flashback 2012. (I don't know about anybody else

but I watched 2012 for months!! I loved it!) Then that was it. Macross was over! Until the rumors of a Macross 2 began to

stir. I had expectations about Macross 2. When the 6 part OAV was released, I was disapointed! Why? Because it was not what I expected!! I had created in my mind what Macross 2 should have been, and when it turn out to be nothing like I

THOUGHT it should have, then I hated Macross 2. Perhaps hate is too strong a word, because I believe Macross 2 does have some good points, let's just say I did not like it and I believe there were many who (at the time) did not either.

As the years past, the announcement of Macross Plus was on the way, and this time Mr. Shoji Kawamori was to take part in this 4 part OAV. I thought well surely, He'll make up for Macross 2 being so bad! Once again, my mind (and I'm sure in the minds of fans) had created what Macross Plus "should" have been like. When it finally arrived, it wasn't what I expected.

However, given the fact that I enjoyed it, I was willing to accept it as a "side story" in the Macross universe.

Then hot on the heels of Macross Plus came Macross 7. My expectations were even higher this time because of Macross Plus, because charcters from the original Macross were in it, and Haruhiko Mikimoto was going to do the character designs. Now remember that Macross, DYRL, and 2012 had both Kawamori and Mikimoto. Macross 2 only had Mikimoto, and Macross Plus only had Kawamori. Macross 7 was to reunite both, and I was expecting something great like another Macross!

Unfortunately, Macross 7 was NOT was I expected. It did not live up to my expectations at all, and I own all 49 episodes of

Macross 7, the 30 minute Macross 7 movie (God what a joke!), the Macross 7 Encore episodes, and all 4 episodes of Macross Dynamite7. So I can say beyond a shadow of a doubt that I thoughly DO NOT LIKE MACROSS 7!! Now I know if anyone Has read this you must ask: "IF you did not like Macross 7, why do you have all the episodes?" Simple, BECAUSE I WANTED TO LIKE MACROSS 7!! This was the first official sequel to my favorite anime, and I went hogwild! I purchased the

CD's, books, models, toys, calenders, tapes...everything. It was like a giant hole that kept going deeper and deeper with no bottom in sight! I KEPT EXPECTING THE SHOW TO GET BETTER, AND IT DIDN'T!!

I realize that Mr. Kawamori wanted to every Macross story different from the others, and with Macross 7 I think he succeded. Macross 7 is very different from the original Macross and I don't think that was a "good" thing.

I just saw episode 10, and thought it was great. I'm glad to see that Ranka is not going to "roll over and play dead" for Sheryl. It seems as if she really wants Alto for herself, and is not going to allow here feelings about Sheryl to get in the way, although I still think she'll probably end up with Brera; I mean even if they do turn out to be brother and sister, Ranka will most likely end up leaving Alto and Sheryl together. Maybe it just me, but does anyone feel as if the opening song is

Ranka singing about Alto? It looks the lyrics to the sing is giving us some clues as to what is going to happen between them. I don't know but for some reason Macross 2 keeps coming to my mind when I think about these characters: Alto= Hibiki, Ranka=Ishtar, Sheryl=Sylvie, and Brera=Feff. Just speculation, that's all.

also I have a couple of questions:

1. Why was Sheryl at the movie shoot? It did not seem as if she had a part in the actual movie, only the soundtrack.

2. Didn't Shin die at the end of Macross Zero? I mean the VF-0 did crash into the ocean, although it did resurface, it then flies away and burst into feathers. I don't get it.

No, I'm not talking about Newtype USA and other American anime mags. Inside the Previews Comics guide there is an Import magazine section that carries all anime magazines from Japan. I just wondered if they were going to carry Macross Chronicle.

Does anybody know if Macross Chronicles will be offered through the Preview comics guide like Newtype and other anime magazines?

I have a question. What makes the VF-25 capable of destroying the enemy? I mean, is it the type of missiles it uses or the

type of rounds it fires? I'm alittle confused at how the VF-171's can never seem to shoot down the enemy, and yet the VF-25 manages to do so.

I just saw the sub of episode 9, and I have a question to ask. The song that the guy on the bench was playing sounded

familiar, didn't it come from Macross 7? It would be funny if the guy playing it turned out to be Basara!

Michael's sister killed herself after a court marshal that tried her for the suspicion of friendly firing on purpose. Apparently she shot her squad leader whom she had an affair with and they broke up just before their current mission. And the pixies called Klan-kaln sister because they were close. Obliviously Klan-klan must be the big sister types to the rest of the Pixies

Just finished watching episode 8 and I enjoyed it, however it did not "feel" like a complete episode; it was almost as if something was missing. I was glad to see Alto get that butt whipping (he had that comming), and to see more of the VF-27

in action. As far as I can tell, it looks like michael's sister might have killed herself after what appears to be a trial or a court-marshal, I'm not sure. Finally, did I hear one of the pixies call Klan "sister"? Are they sisters?

I would have to say yes, ONLY if the series focused was on actual military fighter pilots, and not a rock band flying mecha controlled by musical instruments! I am sorry, but as it stands now, I don't like macross 7!

I gave it 6*'s because the last part is the only official sequel that has the three main characters in it. As far as the rest of the video, it was a nice look back at the original series; I loved it!

Although I have seen the entire Macross 7 series, including Macross 7 the movie, Macross 7 encore, and Macross dynamite 7, I have not seen it in english, so I'm only getting half of the story which is probably clouding my judgement when I say that I do not like Basara. I don't hate him, but I do not like like him "strongly"!

P.S. Could somebody tell me if Basara shooting speakers into the enemy planes had some kind of effect on the pilots?

I ask this because it seemed like they continued to fight dispite of Basara's singing.

This series "just" about makes up for the Macross 7 nightmare. Now, all we need is a two hour movie explaining what happened to Misa, Hikaru, Minmay and "the circle will be complete!"

I just saw the sub for episode 8, and I loved it (animation and all)! I like the way Ranka has to struggle and faces defeat and disapointment. Unlike Minmay, Ranka loses the Miss Macross contest, and it looks like her road to fame will not come quite as easy as our original Miss Macross. Personally, I like Ranka better than Ms. Nome and hopes she does not end up with Alto (who seems to have fallen into the self-absorbed jerk mold, that has plaged the Macross universe from the start).

He can't help it, he's just written that way! I like the way the "Ranka Lee fan club" is looking out for her, and the shower confrontation scene was priceless; they really seem to have her back, unlike Alto who appears to care less. I also thought

the ending scene with our mysterious pilot was cool. I could be wrong, but I think he might be Ranka's real life brother or

long lost boyfriend (I think brother is more plausable given her young age). Finally, for weeks I have been trying to figure out why I don't like Ms. Nome and it finally hit me while watching this episode: she acts too much like Asuka from Evangelion! AND I DON'T LIKE ASUKA FROM EVANGELION!! But other than that, I ENJOYED THIS EPISODE MORE THAN

EPISODE 7 (GO FIGURE)!
