Just got mine today, the first impression was very scary. Many of you had a cardboard box with the helmet box inside. My helmet box WAS my shipping box. They just stuck labels to the outside of it and sent it out. Needless to say the box is destroyed.
The helmet itself is fine, no visible cracks or missing parts. One side has an Ozma sticker, while the other side has a ripped UN Spacy Kite sticker. The paint quality is definitely mass produced quality vs the higher end designs (I'm assuming, I don't have any of the Yamato ones). Uneven paint surfaces, uneven detail lines and chips everywhere. That being said at a cursory first glance it looks very cool.
Mine has an ECER sticker. The box says it meets DOT standards, but it doesn't come with a DOT sticker. Does that mean it cant be used at the track or on roads? Any of you get yours?

This is great news... Macross Frontier was such a boost to the overall Macross franchise. By the time this new series comes out it will have been something close to 10 years since Frontier.

One more Day! Can't wait to see everyone tomorrow.

I voted for the VF-11MAXL to get the ball rolling towards a complete set for Fire Bomber.
I also voted for the VF-2SS just because its a SUPER SEXY DESIGN! It just looks awesome. Simple as that. Plus its pretty mainstream and recognizable.

I just saw this episode and she looks great! I also liked that she had a Ranka pose with her and the promotional brochure had Macross characters (from the Christmas themed figures) on it.
Its on Episode 7 of season 1, the one where they goto Stan Lee's Comikaze.

These look very similar to one of the recent Banpresto Ichiban Kuji sets... the only difference as far as I can see (besides pose) being that the Sheryl and Rankas are in school girl outfits as opposed to the classic Yellow/Brown Ranka and Don't be Late Sheryl. Are the sizes similar as well?
Oh, and Tomopop's recent coverage of Banpresto's showing at Chara Hobby 2013 has pictures of the newest Ichiban Kuji prototypes...

Just picked up my copy this morning and started watching the first OVA episode... it looks amazing! I love it when I notice things that I never had before...
Things like when Isamu is avoiding the missiles in the first battle his VF-11B has its wings swept back in "rocket" mode and being able to clearly see the carriers through the glass while he's being chewed out.
Highly Recommend!

Is there any way to get any of the item goods for the exhibit without going to the actual exhibit? For example, is there anywhere in Tokyo to buy those tickets or art prints?
Do places like Mandarake normally carry items from the exhibits or live events?

Oooooh.... this is a must preorder buy from me. Looks great! I hope it comes with a lot of extra decals to let us fully Itasha it.

Just heard, that's too bad. I've picked up quite a few Valks from them over the years. They were a really good store.

My Cel is Kaifun and Minmay about to awkwardly demonstrate some culture... I wasn't too excited about it, but I guess it could have been worse.

I agree, what a fun concert! She had a great energy around her. She seemed like she was having a fun time. Any else surprised by how much English she knew/spoke or was it just me?

I'll be at the Norcal Show... anyone know if they will have stuff to have her sign (if you signed up for the VIP session) or do we bring our own stuff?
It'll be like our lil' Norcal MW meets of the last few years all over again...

Just got mine today. Definitely agree that its a huge upgrade over their previous Sheryl. About the size of the UFO catcher toys, but way higher quality. The detailing on the hair and chain is great! I got mine for ~$55 shipped and I would say its worth it.

If the Battroid turns out looking as good... this might be my first day 1 multiple purchase. Looks great!

Thanks Keith.
Hopefully NCSX receives their full allotment on day. Can't wait!

That was a great trailer... never thought I'd be excited about a commercial but that was great.
Anyone know how the download code will work for those of us in the U.S.? Or how to make it work?

I'm in, obviously I prefer the assembled toy, but woohoo either way!

I agree with the top two recommendations... Cards Comics Central is pretty good, huge range of collectables and Japantown is fun to browse. Definitely be prepared to pay for B&M. There is something to be said for instant gratification though. Hobbyfan.com is based in Emeryville and they allow pick ups.
What is your Most Favored toy in your collection?

I think the Yamato VF-4 is my favorite Macross toy followed by the 1/60 YF-21. Non Macross would probably be the SoC Gunbuster.
