  1. Neither is my favorite, but I like 'em both! Mac II looks awesome but the story is meh. I had heard/read other people's comments and seen pics of Mac 7 and wasn't exactly impressed, so I watched everything else first - kinda like saving the worst for last. So when the time came for Mac 7, I went in expecting bad, baaaaad things. Know what though? It's not that bad at all, yes it's quite silly at times but if you accept that, the story gets better as you keep watching. It's definitely good for some laughs. As for the music, if you've ever sat through Minmay's singing in Ripofftech, this is a cakewalk! Give it a shot folks. cheers
  2. My first exposure came via Robotech in the late 80's - the only competing shows available at the time were Bugs Bunny, Astroboy, and such gems as "Rocket Robinhood" or "The New Adventures of Hercules" (shudders... ). Growing up in northern New Brunswick wasn't all that great from a tv watching perspective. Years later, I found a Macross II DVD which was, well..., okay. So at first I didn't see the big deal between RT and Macross. I quickly changed my mind after seeing Mac Plus and DYRL though. I think the problem is that RT really hasn't aged too well, I mean watching the first 5-10 minutes of RT:TSC versus Mac Zero says it all doesn't it? Seriously, Halloween special? WTF?!
  3. As others have already covered, some setting solutions are stronger than others - I always test new products on some spare decals first. If you're building an older kit this will also alert you if the decals have gotten too old, in which case they tend to shatter into a gazillion pieces when you put them in water. In your case, I would try applying setting solution a second time and just let them sit - DO NOT TOUCH! They may settle and smooth out when they dry. Things don't look too bad in your photos though, so maybe an extra clear-coat will hide any issues. The sanding trick definitely works, but I'd consider that as a last ditch option. Going in the opposite direction, I once thinned a clear-coat too much and accidentally discovered that Tamiya Acrylic Paint Thinner (X-20A) can double as very strong decal setting solution. If its undiluted it will melt decals - not normally desired but can be useful at times when you're working a really stubborn area. BTW, since I'm new here, my experience comes from building 1/48 WWII fighters. Though I have very little time for that these days.... cheers
  4. Thanks for the heads up! cheers
