I don't know if I'd necessarily call it an ordeal; that implies pain/suffering, which this was not, just very, very long. To give you an idea, I can generally pour all the molds for one average 1/72 model, say a Spartan or Regult, all in one shot. Basically, 1 kit = 1 pouring session. With the Graug, there were so many molds that it took 4 separate casting (pouring/pressurizing) sessions with both a 5 gallon & 2 gallong pressure tank just to make one kit. It might not make sense now, but once you have the actual model in hand and you lay out all the parts, it'll make sense... I hope
I think it's like an body building ordeal Having to mix, blend, lift, pour, pry..... all labor intensive.

Another ground vehicle under development
While onemore only progress till the wheel rim.
Sorry for only giving all the teasers with no release date and price. I'll try to airbrush the electric vehicle this weekend with primer then touch with final detail before handing it to my friend for casting. Very busy at my work place right now.

What would've been ideal is if they had molded the missile launch housing separate, just a perforated plate molded in dark grey, and then mold the missiles all clustered together on a single back plate on a white sprue, then the modeler could combine them to have a more realistic loking missile set and container. Also much easier to paint. But hey, I'm not in charge at Bandai... Perhaps they will use a similar method if they end up making a perfect grade.
Macross in not an area that Bandai is familiar with. Macross Mecha use more missiles and cannons than Gundam. While Gundam usually use laser rifles and laser saber. Their experience in manufacturing missile based machines is not that much.

I have one already but holy crap this is tempting.
Hey what are the chances of captain america's other models getting re-releases? Like a Gnerl fighter and a regular Regult? I know, but I can dream......
I think Captain still have one Gnerl fighter with him. It's the one that was dry fitted for making instructions. You better contact him directly.

Payment sent. I'm hoping to get mine sent out Tues.
I bet Captain will be needing a big truck to transport the Glaugs to the post office and the queue over there will be a long one on Tuesday

Hello,
Just gauging interest here on the possibility of a limited run of 1/72 Destoroido Tomahawk, these will be casted using the original master sculpts created by Captain America here on the boards. Price Approx $130ish a kit (cost of materials and so forth has gone up since first release
, making every effort not to make it skyrocket). What will be strongly considered to stay within cost is to not have a stylish box...simply the kit, decals and a online post for the instructions available for everyone. Those interested please post here in the thread.
Wow... what a piece of good news. After years of hunting, I'd finally bought one last month. Althought I'd already got one I'm interested to get another one. Count me in.
-
Wow really? I'm surprised I made the list for this sucker the first time around. My post count is like super super low here......
I used to get all my kits (of yours that is) thu SSM, but missed out on the Gnerl fighter because it didn't make it there.
I got:
Spartan, Valkyrie Launch Pylon and Scout Regult at Starship
Commanchero and Gnerl direct from the sculptor
Defender, Tomahawk, Large Missile Regult from MW Market Place
Phalanx from Starship Market Place
Small Missile Regult (pending)

This is what I still do since I've found it... But I can't find them to buy
A real pain, if you believe me
Thanks, anyway, I'll do a search again (with hope in the heart and a hand on the wallet :-D )
I saw someone at Starship selling Moscato's Tomahawk

It's fantastic job. For the computer technology we have right now, I believe we can scale it down to 1/72 ourselves very easily. I'm definitely interest in it.

I know some of you live and work in HK. Anything I should know
I dont speak Chinese but im familiar with the city and southern China
If I have to Ill Crash course Chinese with my wife.
What are interview generally like?
Are they forgiving if you only speak English yet willing to learn Chinese.
Just want some tips
My Friend in HK sent me this link http://www.jobsdb.com/Hong_Kong/
She said right now the market is not to good a lot of friends of hers are looking and there is a lot of competition
Thanks
The economy here is really not good.
1. You need to get a working visa.
2. You need to get a top position in a big corporate if you don't speak and read chinese.
3. You can apply for a teaching post to teach english if your native language is english (but still you need to have the relevant qualification).
4. All the jobs in the government require you to past a language proficiendy test.
I do know a lot of expat in my church who work for big corporate here in Hong Kong. It'll be easier to get a job if you're a professional.

Thanks for the figure, John. I'm really looking forwards to the buildup threads for this thing.
Well...it is official, really. What's more easily corrected - the height figure for one mech, or the height figure for every single Zentran?
If a Zentran is the accepted size, then the Glaug can't be any smaller than this. 25m is a lower limit.
At least it will be official in this forum. Like for my ground vehicles, I adjust the dimesion of the vehicles according to an average height human in 1/72.

If they take the same approach as with their VF-25 pilots, Grace's hopes & dreams will be pretty much reduced to flatness. But since the VF-27 has not much of a canopy, it won't really matter
We can always hope that Petar will have enough interest to do a Grace in pilot suit.

Yes! That bugged me back in '82, building my IP version of the same kit. It was an obvious cheat.
I think that it was because in the older days technology and budget will never allow a 35cm tall Glauge to be release. In those day people will think that it's impossible to release a 1/400 Gundam battleship
-
That's promising news, as long as I'm first in line.
Seriously, as noted earlier I'm desperate not to miss out. Heck, I'd even take two in the unlikely event you end up with extras.
The "official" stats for this mech are just plain wrong. That's all there is to it; anyone who gets purist over that is gonna have to be considered sillier than a very silly thing, I'm afraid.
Yeah it's very concourage news that it might past the twenty mark due to the fact that I'm right at the end of the queue.
As for the stats I truly understand that not all dimension stated in the official lineart were that accurate when I was tackling a recast Glaug and figuring how on earth can a Zentradi soldier sculpt by John can be fit into the tiney cockpit. And when I was doing my Centiipede I also figured out that the dimension was again not accurate.

I know, in less than five years Moscato's releases were already very hard to find. I'd spent a lot of effort in finding all the destroids released by him. And the final piece (Destroid Phalanx) is still enroute to HK. I'd only got one of his regults with me. I have some good friends in here that is willing to hold their Regults until I save enough. I'm hoping that by releasing the ground vehicles will help getting the funds to buy other 1/72 kits like the DYRL Launch Arm. Do hope someone in here will release some ground/space support crews.

There's another scale?
Sorry. For the moment everything roll out will be in 1/72
-
Major Focker thank you for the lineart. I'd already downloaded the Perfect Memory and finally was able to see how much linearts were in this book.
Here is the teaser of another new project. It is still in the development stage. Due to the artist that work on the original design of the lineart did not pay too much attention on the feasibility, I will need help from anime magic to tackle some problem on the vehicle. Hopefully it will turn out fine.

I think he is going to sell the PE set to people here

Hobbylink posted a pod cast interview about a Japan garage kit manufacturer "Factory Hiro". It show a few shots of their casting procedure.

does this actually work? show up on random boards and asking for stuff?
I don't know if it work or not. I only knew that I don't get what I wanted even I have the money.
