  1. Exo, thank you for saying it so I didn't have to. Cory...I totally get that Israeli comment for Gasaraki - that's a really good comparison. I'm just bewildered that this design could ever put anyone in mind of Gasaraki stuff. Also, is "Glitter Boy" the most unmanly mech name ever? electric indigo - $5300. Unbelievable! I wonder if the bidder actually came through? It's a nice enough effort but only 9" tall, and certainly not 100% accurate. I would love a good Prawn exo suit. (There's something I couldn't have imagined myself saying a couple of months ago.) BTW, someone on RPF has been talking with Greg Broadmore about releasing some District 9 concept art, including the suit. Yes please! In fact, where's the art book?!
  2. LOL. Thanks anyway John. No surprise! Please consider me a cert if any future run is planned.
  3. Oh god. John did a Scout and Missile version too? Note to self: never take a summer off the forums ever, ever again...
  4. I am SO pleased to see you say that. And about the Regult, too. Boom boom! I'm interested in the Regult too. How does size compare to the 1/72 injection kit? Cory, what IS it with you and that horrible hovertank anyway? The ONLY good hovertank in ALL of science fiction is the Nutrocker. So there.
  5. Speaking of titanic Monster models, John...how about it? Mike doesn't seem in any hurry to do a new run of his. One from you would be pretty amazing. Yes...I AM trying to drive you into an early grave.
  6. I guess my worldview doesn't work the same way as yours. Bigger is just better to me. Give me any two models in different scales, and - assuming identical quality - I will ALWAYS choose the larger one. I don't see them as being the same thing at all. I like to look at small fiddly models, but can't stand building them. Pardon my ignorance - what's Getter 1 and Janx's VF-1 - paper model?
  7. Lord, some of you guys are sounding kinda spoiled. It's a 1/48 YF-19, probably at a very affordable price. This is a VERY GOOD THING! If some parts lack detail, there's an aftermarket opportunity, or a chance for you to show off your mad superdetailing skillz.
  8. WHEW!!! And...d'oh! I was having a horrible moment there after John posted about binning the moulds, I was thinking he might be planning to blow up the master with primercord or something, just so that nobody could ever ask him to mould it again.
  9. I've had reasonable results with General Electric silicones (do they still make them?) and really good results with Rhone-Poulenc/Rhodorsil. Some of my RP moulds are like fifteen years old and still good.
  10. Are you taking payments for the extras yet? Cheers, Martyn
  11. Oh lord yes. A Cat's Eye would be incredible. Or a VF4, but that would really need to be in a larger scale to make much commercial sense I guess.
  12. PS irrelevant aside - if I get one, I'll be building a booster for it.
  13. Thanks for the headsup, John. Unfortunately I will be participating in a special project at work over the next two weeks and may not be able to check here every day. I WANT to check here every half hour, but I expect to miss out again. Is there any chance of a formal interest list, now?
  14. It's official in the sense that it's what we see onscreen. We see a 12-m pilot who fits in a cockpit, and we see more-or-less consistent proportions for that mech, depending on the skill of whoever was animating that scene. So that's the primary canon. You can't do any of the other retcons if you want to stay canonical, because we never saw a Matchbox version with a giant pod running around (or if we did, I've repressed the memory). Just nitpicking really. I agree with your other points, I just don't see this as a compromise - more a very overdue correction.
  15. No plastic, scaled pilot should have to sit in something smaller than the plastic, scaled cockpit of a plastic, scaled Spitfire. It's more than a good idea, it's the right thing to do.
  16. Thanks for the figure, John. I'm really looking forwards to the buildup threads for this thing. Well...it is official, really. What's more easily corrected - the height figure for one mech, or the height figure for every single Zentran? If a Zentran is the accepted size, then the Glaug can't be any smaller than this. 25m is a lower limit.
  17. Yes! That bugged me back in '82, building my IP version of the same kit. It was an obvious cheat.
  18. That's promising news, as long as I'm first in line. Seriously, as noted earlier I'm desperate not to miss out. Heck, I'd even take two in the unlikely event you end up with extras. The "official" stats for this mech are just plain wrong. That's all there is to it; anyone who gets purist over that is gonna have to be considered sillier than a very silly thing, I'm afraid. PS it is looking sensationally gorgeous. Can't say how glad I am you've tackled this mech, John, even if I do miss one. It's the mech that got me into anime modelling in the first place - just love it, it's up there with the P.k.F 85 Falke from Ma.K as one of the all time great designs. Just curious, do you have an estimated height figure for the completed model?
  19. Seconding this suggestion, I reckon you'll see people suddenly sitting up and taking a lot more interest. Just having the material right there in the thread will have an effect. Always assume people are lazy and forgetful, a lot of potential customers might not be prepared to bother go looking for the info elsewhere. Hell, people are like that with *contracts*, something I struggle with every day at work. Also, I agree with Cobywan; Jason's mesh is the greatest!
